PostSubject: Evil Never Leaves Hogwarts for Long (Open to All)   Thu Oct 13, 2016 7:22 pm

It is early evening at Hogwarts. Many students are readying themselves for the evenings dinner in the great hall when a mass shudder runs through the building. Nobody knows where this has come from, but all the students look up with fear written across their faces.

"What was that?" Many of the students call out, looking up to the professor's table with worry.

The professors look equally bemused in that moment - many turning their attention to the Headmaster with questioning eyes.

Another explosion rumbles through the building, scream elicit from many of the younger student's mouths.

"YOU KNOW WHAT WE'VE COME FOR, HEADMASTER!" A voice insists through the building. It's a cold voice, one nobody wishes to hear. It sends a shiver down your spine, even if you don't know what is going on.

A few moments pass...

Silence.

Waiting.

The doors of the Great Hall fly open with such force, that the hinges almost give way. People in masks begin to fill the room. Their wands are raised. You could not tell who they are.

But they're intruders in the castle.

And panic has begun to set in.

(OOC: The admins will be playing the roles of the Death Eaters. So long as you have good reason to be in the castle, anyone and everyone is welcome to join in. If you would like to contribute to either side, please feel free (though if you wish to join the intruders, please PM me for further details. Otherwise, please have fun, and, welcome to our new site plot!)

It was meant to be another ordinary night. Dinner, study, some time to chat and then off to bed, ready to repeat another ordinary day. That was until Lucy took her seat in the Great Hall, starving, having skipped lunch that day to catch up on some assignments that she had avoided doing for too long, she was ready to tuck into some chicken. That was until the hall started rumbling. She looked around in confusion, noting the other students, just as confused. And then Lucy felt herself jump at the sound of an explosion echoing through the hall.

"YOU KNOW WHAT WE'VE COME FOR, HEADMASTER!"

The voice was chilling to the bone. At this point, Lucy held her hand to her wand, looking cautiously to the back of the hall, when the doors flew open violently. Shadows- well they looked like shadows- but with these ghastly masks. Some on foot, some in the air. She drew her wand, her heart beating fast. She needed to get out- she needed to help. She needed to do so much but she couldn't get her thoughts right. So she acted on instinct, standing up and starting the defence.

Adeline had come here to have peaceful dinner like every other night but it was ruined by some people, who had come here suddenly. She was so confused what was going on like everyone else around seemed to be. Was this someone prank or was it real this time.

"YOU KNOW WHAT WE'VE COME FOR, HEADMASTER!"

When she heard these words she was even more confused. Also, it did make her chills go over her body. This voice wasn't really pleasant to hear. She wondered what was going on now. She hated that she had no idea. She just in case did take her wand into her right hand, so she is ready to defend herself when needed. She saw how one girl went into defensive position. Adeline did stand up and did stand next to that girl there now. She decided defend people here too. She knew what she was doing, well she at least hoped so.

The whole day, Violet had felt oddly excited. She'd felt butterflies in her stomach, something she had never felt before. She hid it well of course, keeping her face neutral, acting as she normally would through the day. But just knowing that- finally- her plans would be coming to fruition.

It stretched back all the way to the start of the year- while wandering through Knockturn Alley, cigarette in hand (a habit only recently picked up the very same holidays, and one that had grown quite substantially), as she had so many times before. An overheard conversation, a threat, and a bargain later, and she had managed to talk herself out of what seemed to be a serious situation. And into another that meant she had more control. She'd formulated a good portion of the plan on the spot, using her being a student as leverage. The finer details were worked out closer to the date that the others wanted.

Her plan was simple, ensuring enough naive students wandered into the wrong part part of Hogsmeade during one of their visits- and for the intruders to use polyjuice potion until, well, that night. A lot of the students used were first or second years- kidnapped of course, though Vi had never been explicitly told what would happen to them. Either way, she didn't particularly care. The younger they were, the more trusting they had been. No one ever really questioned the Hufflepuff's intentions when she had sweetly offered to show them around.

That night, she didn't rush to the dining hall. She meandered in, sitting towards the back of the hall- waiting- until everyone was in, before she took a seat near the door, at the back of the hall. Not long through dinner did the rumbling start- enough to startle the students into confusion. An explosion. Fear now.

"YOU KNOW WHAT WE'VE COME FOR, HEADMASTER!"

She couldn't help but smirk- the time was so close. The anticipation growing… Growing with the fear… Until…

The doors swung open and masked people fly through. Chaos ensued. Violet wasted no time in standing up and sprinting out of the hall. She stopped on the other side of the door, drawing her wand and quickly casting "Colloportus!"- locking them in. She knew those that she had helped in would have no trouble getting out. But the students- they'd panic. They'd scream, and cry and forget how to use their wands, for a short while at least. But with all the chaos, all the pushing and scrambling, it'd certainly be difficult.

With her job done, a rare smile touched her lips as she lit up a cigarette (certain that no one would get her in trouble for smoking at this stage), deciding to go for a walk.

Jacques opinion on Pureblood superiority was not one he kept overly quite. He was better than others, there was no point in him denying that. He loved the power that came with being better than people, and thus... supported those movements which propelled his kind in to a higher power. This didn't mean Jacques wanted an active role, no, but he wasn't one to want the action squashed.

His father, being an Auror, had other ideas, of course.

These ideas were playing through the Clement's head in that moment, as he walked up towards the Great Hall for dinner. News was spreading of a new group who thought they could be the ones to continue Voldemort's reign of terror. Though, of course, he doubted it would ever succeed. Evil never truly won out, did it?

Just as he reached the top of the stairs, the first rumble through the building happened, making him slip sideways in to an alcove to hide himself from the view of anyone coming past. Being a Clement meant saving your own ass, and Jacques was not untoward with self-preservation. The Slytherin caught glances of people running towards the great hall, and his fingers moved subtly to his wand, wrapping around the object that gave him almost as much power as his name.

Words echoed through the halls, followed by screams, Jacques simply remained still, his heart pounding in his chest, but his features unnaturally calm.

Jacques' eyes scoured the scene, seeing the last person enter the hall as another exited.

But the next action...

The next one brought a small smirk to the French boy's lips. Slipping his wand from his belt, Jacques moved from his place hidden in the door way, and slowly across the floor. Minimal noise was made in that moment. Until he was close enough to the intriguing witch to give him enough time to block any spell she might use to attack. "Would have been impressive, you know... Had you not been caught in the act." Jacques told her casually. There was no note of 'I'm telling' in his voice, just pure, cold facts.

And, his eyes, those deep brown eyes were shining with a hint of amusement, a hint of something that said he was not, in the slightest, against what this witch had just done.

Violet had just shoved her lighter back into her pocket and had taken a drag of her cigarette when she saw another student approaching her. He seemed oddly calm, given the situation, though she noticed that he still held his wand. A precaution, she supposed. And for good reason. She still had hers drawn.

"Would have been impressive, you know... Had you not been caught in the act."

She blew out a puff of smoke as he spoke and considered the statement for a little bit before responding "Still impressive though," she shrugged, with just a hint of a smile still present. Perhaps it was the adrenaline, or the fact that this was the first time she had ever truly felt excited for something to happen, but for the first time, she was simply unable to have her face completely neutral. It was a weirdly satisfying feeling.

She could have denied it, she could have acted defensively, but the boy himself had an air about him that seemed a tad amused by the situation. She was curious to see what he'd do (if anything) about it. "Bet you're feeling lucky that you were late," she added, taking another puff from her smoke.

Jacques was not easily impressed, hence the witch being caught had dampened his impression of her. Of course, had he not have caught her, there wouldn't have been anything to be impressed by. This was the difficult appreciation levels that Jacques Clement worked to, and he was not going to be swayed by the fact the witch before him thought she was impressive. Instead, the Slytherin remained silent with her response, simply taking her in as she took a drag from her cigarette.

Years of finer circles had made Jacques become accustomed to the smell of smoke, but cigarettes smelt much too cheap in comparison to cigar smoke. Nevertheless, the Slytherin was intrigued with the idea of trying. But did not take action to do so.

The witch continued by asking him if he felt lucky for being late. That, drew a small laugh from the Clement heir, before he shook his head. "If you think whomever is in there scares me, you're very sadly mistaken. Or under informed." Jacques told her confidently, verging on giving a casual shrug before stiffening his shoulders to stop it. "I'd say the lucky ones are those on the inside, who get to see the whole thing in progress." Jacques concluded, not worrying about his opinion on the more sadistic things in life.

After all, he was not the one who'd just locked hundreds of children in a room of maniacs.

His response was unexpected. But Violet didn't let it show on her face. It was refreshing to have someone that seemed to share at least some of the same ideas as her and to be so casual about it. "I'm inclined to say under informed," she replied after he had finished his statement. She was curious as to why he seemed so terribly confident. It could be an act- a 'fake it until you become it' sort of deal, perhaps he was just good at hiding his emotions. He might also have some sort of leverage feeding his confidence. With that in mind, she wasn't about to let down her guard- she was, however, interested.

"I'd feel luckier being the one doing the attacking," she stated plainly.

"Tell me though, why aren't you scared?" she asked, taking one last drag from her cigarette before finishing it.

The comment of being under informed was not a surprise. Very few people understood the Pureblood world anymore, and for the British kids, there was little hope they understood very much outside of the Isles. Jacques found this very amusing - how could anyone be happy with not knowing things of such importance? But, of course, standards were sliding much too easily of late, and this allowed for people to be under informed.

Jacques wasn't going to explain, though. Not without being prompted to do so.

His eyes travelled instead to the now locked doors of the great hall, where screams were emanating. Attacking people - as the witch before him had said she'd like to do - was not something Jacques had a taste for. But, he had a slightly twisted view on the kinds of things that were okay. Practicing dark arts, for one. Jacques passed no comment, however, he was not the kind of person who spoke unnecessarily. For anyone.

So, when he was prompted with a question, Jacques brought his attention back to the girl before him. Considered her for a moment, before breaking out a smile that showed her lack of knowledge was nothing short of funny. "I know who the people are. My father... is high up in the Ministry of France. Times have become turbulent. And... well, we all know they're working on building up some kind of stupid blood purity ideology once again.

"My family is too powerful to be cowering before them." Jacques explained, raising an eyebrow at her. She wasn't anyone of note... "But, I can't work out your reasoning. You're in on this... it would seem." He added, motioning to the door, before looking at her quizzically. "Why?" The question was firm. In need of answers, and Jacques would not give up on this until he had one.

Violet listened as the boy explained his reasoning as to why he wasn't at all scared. It kind of made her think that perhaps learning about some of her classmates, perhaps those from influential families in particular, could be useful. She supposed she hadn't ever considered that knowing people- knowing how to talk to them- could be handy in some situations. Before now, she hadn't really bothered. Things like social status had never seemed to be important- she'd always seen it as shallow to worry about things like that. Though, considering what she had gotten herself into, it certainly couldn't hurt to learn a bit more.

His question bought a smirk to her lips. Why? What was her reasoning? She agreed that the whole 'blood purity' ideology was stupid. There was no basis of evidence to support what they were pushing. Thinking back, Violet really didn't have to join. If she hadn't wanted to, she could have told someone, could have received help. But she had chosen not to. Perhaps it had been because she was bored, as she usually was- in need of something to focus on. That and the rush she got from carrying out the plans that she had made.

She glanced back at the door to the Great Hall- where it had gotten rather noisy, with screams and shouts. No one had calmed enough to even try a simple Alohomora yet. But that wouldn't last forever. She turned back to the boy in front of her and shrugged "Does there need to be a reason?" she asked. Judging by the look on his face, he genuinely really wanted to know. And Violet being, well, Violet, she wasn't going to explain herself so easily- especially to someone she barely knew. Deciding that she better be off before they opened the door, she started walking.

"I've got to go," she stated as she walked past, not caring to elaborate "Bye," she said.

Dinner was just about to be served, Daniel was in deep conversation with the Herbology professor beside him, discussing the use of a new plant in magical medicine. It wasn't a field Daniel had deep knowledge in, truth be told, but he did like to hear from the professors of the school as much as possible. The idea - to Daniel - sounded a good one, one that he was actively encouraging the professor to progress with.

Daniel had just about been ready to ask his fellow professor as to whether he'd written up a proposition for the idea when a shudder ran through the castle. His stomach seemed to drop in that moment, a feeling of discomfort reeking through his body as he hurried to his feet, drawing his wand in the process.

The children...

"YOU KNOW WHAT WE'VE COME FOR, HEADMASTER!"

If only I did... Daniel thought to himself for a moment, before his instincts kicked in. Pointing his wand to his throat, Daniel cast the Sonorous Charm. "Students, get back to your dormitories at once. Prefects, Head Boy and Girl, round up the students, and get them safe. Professors, with me." Daniel instructed, before adding. "Quietus."

The doors closed on the Great Hall the moment the masked people entered the room, and Daniel had a very, very bad feeling about this. "Stupefy!" The Headmaster called out, watching the red light hurtle from his wand towards the main masked person. They flicked it away with ease, sending a similar spell back.

The fighting had begun, and Daniel was terrified of how this was going to end.

When the rumble had shuddered through the castle, Naomi had looked up from her very small portion of food and across at her friends with uncertainty. "Do you think Pee-" But Naomi's question that had masked her worry with a smile, had fallen short on her lips when the voice rang through the hallway. That was not Peeves.

Hurrying to her feet, just as the doors opened, Naomi knew this was not something she wanted to be a part of. And she was already hurrying towards the back of the hall when she caught sight of one of her house mates who did not seem to want to get moving.

"Lucy!" Naomi called out, knowing the girl only by name and little else. "What are you doing, come on! Let's get outta here!" The Slytherin witch insisted, offering her hand to her fellow Slytherin. Whilst the self-preservation technique was kicking in, Naomi was not going to leave a fellow Slytherin behind. Weird as it might sound, Slytherins did still look out for one another.

Humphrey had just finished loading his plate up and was about to take his first bite of the evening meal when a voice rang out through the hall. Confused and scared, he watched in horror as people in masks started to fill the great hall. Standing up, he booked it over to the Gryffindor table and found Casey, grabbing her hand and pulling her along with him as he began making his way towards the back of the hall. He tried to remember if there was an exit aside from the main doors, and thought there might be one that teachers used but he wasn't sure where that was. "Casey, we need to get out of here while we still can. If we get out, I'm running with you straight to the Hufflepuff common room and you're coming with. Got it?" he asked, and received a worried nod from his little sister as she knew they were in danger right now.

Looking ahead, he noticed Naomi talking with another Slytherin girl. They hadn't seen each other at all of late, but he hoped she could help him get out of here. Walking over, he moved in close enough to be heard over the noise. "Naomi, do you know another way out of the hall besides the main doors?" Humphrey asked, biting his lip while he waited for her response.

Those bloody Westbrooks!

Hathor still couldn't believe she was married to Marcus Westbrook. Of course, she still tried to use her last name as much as possible, not wanting to be considered a property of his, but of course, everyone now knew her as the Lady Westbrook. And thus, she was sent to Hogwarts, in Marcus' place, in order to do business. She was the only available person to do his deeds, and since she was the new 'Westbrook' of the family, Marcus had to make sure she knew that well enough. And that was why he was doing this to her. Just to enjoy the angry look on her face, every time she was called 'Hathor Westbrook.

Dressed in a very business like outfit, Hathor had arrived at Hogwarts as a guest, waiting for the Headmaster to finish his class in order to meet him and come to an agreement. The Westbrooks were very rich alright, and Marcus wanted to give the school a donation, a way for their name to be... promoted.

Thankfully, she didn't have to wait long. The Headmaster gladly lead her to his office and after an hour -or so- of talking, she had managed to come to an agreement with the wizard, managing a great deal for the Westbrooks. She had every chance to destroy them, if she really wanted to, but that would drag her down as well, and it was widely known that Hathor Valois never bowed down to anything or anyone.

Sadly though, her torment was not over yet, since the Headmaster had insisted she stayed and had some food with them. And being polite, Hathor could not refuse them. She had a status to uphold, after all.

And thus she was lead to the Great Hall, filled with students but also the staff members. Hathor had the opportunity to talk to a few, learning a couple of things about Potions, but also Astronomy. She had to admit that these two were particularly hot looking, but after the look she received from the School Nurse, Hathor kept to herself, not even daring to look towards them again. She was not welcome, she had got the hint.

But as she was enjoying the food, suddenly a mass shudder run through the building. Hathor's eyes went wide, immediately looking up at the Headmaster in surprise. What in Merlin's name was that?
Another explosion followed, and screams filled the Hall, causing Hathor to stumble back out of her seat and take her wand out immediately. Something was really, really wrong here.

"YOU KNOW WHAT WE'VE COME FOR, HEADMASTER!"

And then silence. Hathor had her wand ready, still not knowing what the hell was going on. She didn't want to panic, she didn't want to feel scared. But a part of her already knew that this was not going to end well.
And then the door of the Great Hall flew open with such force, they almost broke. People in masks walked in, wands in hand, and then hell got loose.

The fighting didn't take long to start, with Hathor joining in before she even had a chance to understand what she was doing. She didn't know what to actually do, but one things she knew was that she had to survive. Not for Marcus, but for herself.

Once her eyes focused once again, she noticed two of the masked men coming towards her. Of course they would come for her, she was a Pureblood, and one the Westbrooks and the Valois would pay a lot for. Hathor started running, but the heels on her feet didn't help her. She tried to jinx them away but it was no use. She stumbled and fell, and before she knew it, two wands were aimed in her face. And that was the last things she remembered because after that there was darkness.

And then, she was lost.

Caramarienne pulled her hair into a high ponytail. She was getting ready to meet Nirek in the Astronomy Tower as soon as she could. She was in relaxing clothes, they were flattering but nonetheless relaxing. Tight leggings to accentuate the yoga and dance formed body, a light sweater top that was a pretty pastel, and moccasins. All casual yet designer to prove that she was still as fancy as her Guardians. She was sure, though, that any of her old Charm school girls would throw a fit. They'd only ever seen her in the highest brands, never pants, just dresses and skirts to highlight her pleasing features. But to Nirek, it never seemed to matter what she looked like. Just thinking of him, she wasn't quite sure what to call him, so she referred to him as her beau in her head, sent a rush through her body.

She smiled at her roommate, glad they were getting along better, as she headed for the door. Once she was through the dungeons and on the moving stairway up, her mind completely engulfed with thought of Nirek did she feel the shaking. Immediately, her eyes widened as her hands shakily reached for her wand in the folds of her leggings... Only to realize she'd left her wand back in her room. There was an explosion several feet in front of her and she heard some terrified screams as she watched through the rubble, two figures appear. She gulped back panic as she immediately began racing up the stairs. She stopped once she'd hit the second floor, tired of ignoring the noises around her. She took in a deep breath and searched around. She saw a pair of them racing down the hallways, laughing maniacally, and on her right there was a weeping First Year Ravenclaw. On her left and closer to the Sick Freaks invading her school, though it was clear the First Year didn't remember it, was the entrance to the Head Boy and Girl Common Room. She sucked in a deeper breath.

Cara kicked off both of her moccasins, and ignored the surprise as her feet touched the cold ground of the castle, in one hand she held her shoes and the other she intended to lift the First Year off the ground and throw him into the Portrait. She had a solid two minutes before the Sick Freaks would be by the portrait, and it would take her thirty seconds to get to the boy. Already she was running towards the boy, grabbing him by the collar, she narrowed her eyes at the approaching figures who began calling out to her. She squelched her fear down and kicked on the frame of the portrait.

"Emergency! The castle is under attack, open up, now." She whispered to the portrait. The door swung open and she shoved the boy in, ready to say another thing, but was shocked to find her breath stolen from her as her sweater choked her. One of the Sick Freaks had grabbed the back of her sweater and jerked her back from the portrait, but not before she had to chance to slam it shut. She felt the impact of the castle wall's against her shoulders as the Sick Freak shoved her against it, her head bouncing against the wall. She let out a shriek of pain as she took a moment to focus on what was being said to her.

"Pretty lil' one, ain't ya?" The smell of bourbon wrecked Cara's senses as she winced in agony over her head and shoulders, she began squirming, lifting her legs and shouting for help before she felt the hand that wasn't pinning her by the shoulders to the wall lift to her mouth. "Shut it, lil lady, and this'll be easier on both of us." Panic filled her as she lifted her legs swiftly to slam against his solar plexus. Immediately he released her and knelt over to catch his breath. She succeeded in pushing him off her, and watched as his friend stopped harassing the portrait to take a defensive position, only for her to throw both her shoes at her face.

She began cursing in French as she raced by the Portrait, she didn't know where she was running, but she prayed she was running in the right direction.

Nirek had the evening planned to stay with Cara. Cara had found time to be able to get away from her pain in the ass brother-kind-of-person, which meant they could have some time alone. Truthfully, Nirek was frustrated with the fact they had to sneak around to meet up, but he also understood why the could not be brazen about their relationship, too.

It was, in a way, a blessing Nirek had failed his N.E.W.T.S. because it gave him an excuse to see Cara more. If he'd of left... well, Nirek doubted there would have been much opportunity.

The Gryffindor had slipped out of the common room when the first shudder rang through the castle. His hand had gone to his wand in an instant, and instead of going along the corridor, Nirek had gone straight down the stairs as fast as possible. Caramarienne would be making her way up one set of stairs, which level he wasn't sure, but he knew they would see each other. Thundering down the stairs two or three steps at a time, Nirek skidded to a halt as he looked up the corridor of the second floor - breathing heavy from the five floor descent. The sound of pain was familiar, but not because he'd heard it before...

Hurrying down the corridor, Nirek skidded around the corner, wand at the ready.

His blood ran cold at the sight before him.

Cara.

Frozen for a moment, Nirek could only be thankful that Caramarienne could look after herself, kicking out at the man holding her and throwing her shoes at the second man. Her feet were bringing her in his direction a moment later, and Nirek's brain fizzed back in to action. "Cara, keep running!" Nirek shouted at her, stepping sideways as he fired the strongest knock-back jinx he'd ever managed at the man who was now chasing after her. Laughing in a sickening manner that filled the corridor, Nirek just about managed not to shudder. But the man deflected Nirek's jinx, making it look like child's play.

Frustrated, Nirek sent two more in the man's direction, neither as strong as the first, but in quick succession, giving Cara time to get to him. Nirek's hand shot out to Caramarienne's as she reached him, not thinking about anything other than getting her to safety. "Come on, keep running." Nirek insisted, pulling her along the corridor away from the mad man that was coming after them. The stairs were coming closer, though, and Nirek knew they needed to think of something, fast.

"Professor Newbury might be in his classroom..." Nirek offered as he pulled Caramarienne up the stairs, it was one floor up, and the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher was the best option in this case. Everyone knew he was an Auror. They would just have to hope he hadn't left yet.

At the top of the stairs, Nirek pushed Cara along the corridor, turning to send another jinx at their pursuer before hurrying to catch up with Caramarienne. Taking her hand, and running as fast as he could. He was not a duellist. Running was their only option.

Lucy had been busy fighting- so much so that the thought to run hadn't seemed to even enter her mind. She found herself dodging spells and students, firing back and standing her ground. She also found, that at the back of her mind she was thinking how running with the crowd meant doom- a quick glance behind told her that the great big doors were locked- and the crowd had quickly thickened to some sort of impenetrable fortress of bodies pushing and screaming desperately to be let out. Moving in that direction would mean that she would be practically a sitting duck.

Her attention to the intruders only broke when she heard her name being called. She looked around quickly, discovering that it was a younger Slytherin- Naomi, she was certain was the girl's name- that had called out and offered her hand. And then quickly, a hufflepuff boy asking if there was another way out. She glanced around quickly, and immediately remembered-

"The trophy room," she said, almost under her breath before looking back to the two younger students "The trophy room," she stated again, louder for the other two to hear "This way," she grabbed Naomi's outstretched hand, beginning to run towards the back of the Great Hall, where the trophy room was located.

When Naomi heard her name being called over the din that was this attack, the Slytherin witch turned to find Humphrey almost at her side. Great, the Slytherin witch thought to herself as he put his life - as well as his damn sister's - in to her hands with the question of whether she knew a way out. Of course she did, she was resourceful like that, but she really hadn't wanted to have to babysit.

However, Lucy's voice cut through the retort that Naomi was about to spurt out to the Hufflepuff boy. The route to the Trophy Room was the obvious escape, and now that Lucy had told Humphrey, she was going to have to tag him along.

"Keep up with us!" Naomi instructed the boy, following after Lucy - their hands held together as they weaved through the other people in the hall. Hopefully, if they didn't bring too much attention to themselves, they might actually be able to get out of this alive. Unscathed...

But until that happened, Naomi was not going to be a hopeful. No, hopefulness could, would, cost her her life.
