Serafina Richardson WKrge

Basics

Full name: Serafina Kaylee Isabelle Richardson
Age: 22
D.O.B: January 17, 1995
Birthplace: England
Current home: A house nearby the University, Richardson’s estate during the holidays,
Blood status: Pureblood
Sexual alignment: Heterosexual
Wand type: Aspen, Dragon heartstring, 9 inches

Looks

Hair colour and style: She does different styles on different days, depending on how long she has in the morning to get ready and how much time she wants to spend on it. When left long, it reaches past her shoulders and is naturally curly.
Eye colour: Very light brown.
Height: 5’ 8”
Body type: Slim and fit.
Dress sense: Fashionable, always, but practical at the same time.

Personality

Likes:
– Equality; Serafina has always loved the idea of females and males having equal footing and equal opportunities. What the female does with said freedom is up to her, and if one chooses to follow an arranged marriage, so be it, as long as it's what the female wants.
– Being in charge of her future
– Flirting with (Pureblood) makes just to see their reactions
– Dark chocolate
– Flowers
– Fine dining
– Social gatherings
– Clothes, duh
– Her looks

Dislikes:
– Sweets/sweet things
– Oppression
– The social norms of female Purebloods
– Being unoriginal/unoriginality
– Weak people
– Itchy clothes
– Not being listened to; this doesn't mean people have to agree with her every word, but the act of not giving her a chance to speak up. This is especially annoying in the setting of Pureblood events

Strengths and positive traits:
– Magic and studying; she actually has quite a high intelligence.
– Quick witted and fast talker; she is able to spin a story and convince people of many things. Not just that but she is also able to remember what she has said and so consistency errors are less likely to occur.
– Charming and polite; she knows how to conduct herself in public very well
– Friendly, and makes friends quickly
– Fashion
– Good at reading people/spotting lies, simply because she has learnt the art of being a liar and actress herself.
– Surprisingly physically fit/ has a lot of stamina.
– Loyal to her closest friends; she will do anything for those she considers close to her, even if it means a chance of harm to herself. However, while she has many friends, there are but a handful she considers to be close with.
- Well read; she reads, not because she enjoys it, but so she is well informed and can hold political conversations if need be. Truth be told, she only did this because females weren’t expected to.

Weaknesses and negative traits:
– Clothes
– Her self-image; she cares too much about how people see her and if insulted, can get quite upset.
– The idea of being in love, because as much as she flirts around and dodges dating, she actually wants someone to love and love her.
– In her quest to be recognised as a person, she has become quite self entitled.
– She holds a very high opinions of herself, and thinks she is so unique and special. Unfortunately, this is quite true - there is nobody quite like Serafina.
– She tends to have a rather unimpressed outlook on most things in life.
– Flirtatious; Serafina enjoys flirting with the guys just to see their reaction, but she'd never actually date any of them.
– Can be a bit merciless if she feels like she has given too many chances already, or if she feels that someone is a jerk who doesn't deserve a chance.
– Spends too long getting ready and making herself look good; in a manner of speaking, she is a bit vain

Background

Serafina was born as the first child to her parents, and named after her mother and her grandmother, but given an original first name for which she has been thankful. She was raised as any modern-day Pureblood would be - with nannies, tutors, and butlers for company. Indeed, she hardly saw her parents until she was five and old enough to know how to behave herself when in company of others. It was also around this time that her sister was born, McKendra, but Serafina never really spent time with her; she was too busy being modelled at the side of one of her parents.

And so, Serafina was turned into a show piece; her beauty was astounding, having inherited all the best bits of her ancestors in the perfect amount, it seemed. For a while, it was rumoured that the Richardson’s were not in fact Purebloods, and that somewhere along the line there was a Veela. However, to disprove this, Serafina’s father had their ancestry traced and recorded as far back as they could go, and this rumour was very quickly squashed.

Serafina was, indeed, gorgeous purely through good genes and a long heritage of beautiful women on the side of both her mother and her father. Her other sibling, the heir to the family, was born when she was 6, and again, she wasn't very close with him due to the age gap.

By the time she was 11, she had been trained in all the ways of a Pureblood female, knowing the perfect smile, tone of voice, bow, curtsey, words to say, and all the in-betweens. She also had been prepared in advance for school, having been given lessons on all the spells and potions before hand to ensure she would not slack in any way.

When it came time for the sorting, Serafina surprised everyone by being one of those rare students that received a hat stall. It lasted just over seven minutes while the hat debated where to place her, and she argued back. On one hand, he noted some Hufflepuff qualities, but that house was quickly ruled out by a rather forceful ‘no’ on her behalf. She was not even going to consider being in such a saccharine house, what with their constant smiling and being nice.

The hat also noted quite a bit of smarts in her, along with a very high sense of individualism, and Ravenclaw was considered. Next came Gryffindor, but the hat said something about not being sure if it was right, and moved along for the time being. Slytherin was the last house to consider, but Serafina did not want to be placed here; she did not want to be ‘just another Richardson’ in that house.

Still, the hat said it would be the best house for her - it was a family legacy for a reason, and she seemed to fit the bill. Serafina refused, outright telling the hat if he placed her there she would quit on the spot. An argument ensued, with her sticking to her decision so strong that the hat finally conceded and, rather, for having the sheer guts to stand up for what she wanted and not taking no for an answer, placed her in Gryffindor.

And so it was in red and gold that Serafina grew up in, much to the confusion and slight disappointment of both her parents, who had been Slytherin prefects in their day. But she was proud for being different and not ashamed of her status as a lion, and she excelled in everything she put her mind to. She made prefect, and was even considered for position of Head Girl, which she turned down simply because she didn't want the added stress on top of exams.

This was not the only time she disappointed her family; somehow - be it due to a ‘unprofessional’ nanny or tutor, or ‘mixing with the wrong crowd’ - Serafina developed a sense of ownership about herself, and became a supporter of female equality. She hated the idea of being a female as defined by the norms of Purebloods, wanting to be able to do what she wanted work wise, marriage wise, and everything else.

Of course, she still saw her status as something to be valued and treasured, and so she would never do anything stupid that would ruin the family name. However, she does not want to be a part of an arranged marriage or be a ‘homemaker’ while her husband worked. Rather, Serafina was adamant about being able to choose who she married, and which Pureblood family she married into. It was unconventional, but it was either that or she would taint the family name.

The threat in itself was enough to get her parents to support her decision, and Serafina is still searching for someone she could love. This does not mean she doesn’t have her fun; during Pureblood functions, she can be found flirting and checking out different males, enjoying their reactions. She knows she is beautiful and knows the best clothes, jewelry, and makeup to use to enhance her best aspects, and touch up those with lesser quality.

All in all, Serafina enjoys the game of seeing how long each suitor tries to win her over. After all, being from a rather prominent family, she knows she would be a good ‘prize’, able to bring whichever family she married into a considerable amount of wealth and status. That is partially one of the reasons she doesn’t think she will get married anytime soon; too many males out there chase after her not because they love her, but because she is a valuable commodity.

Her sisters don't agree openly with what their Serafina stands for, but on a few rare occasions, they have whispered their thanks to her for helping them realise how backward their position as females were. Her brother has not said a word in either her or her parents defence, and it seems that he is neutral about the whole ordeal.

Meanwhile, after graduating from school with top marks (as if she would have gotten anything else) she was surprised when she received an invitation to a University. Of course, she accepted, not bothering to ask for permission from her parents before signing up to be an Auror. It was frowned upon, and caused another disagreement between her and her parents, but always the stubborn one, she won. This is the reason she is starting at 22; it took that long a time to convince her parents.

But, with the blessings of both parents and all the money she’d need to ‘survive’, Serafina set off for University. She has been told that at any time she can stop her actions and return home, but she doesn't ever plan to. Moving into the more prominent housing communities - because, really, she was a Richardson and would definitely not be sharing a dorm or house with just anyone - Serafina was ready for a new year, one that would be the start of becoming a person of her own making.

Family

Father
Name: Spencer Richardson Age: 46 Living or Deceased: Living Blood type: Pureblood
Mother:
Name: Isabelle Richardson Age: 43 Living or Deceased: Living Blood type: Pureblood

Siblings: McKendra Richardson (16), Christopher Richardson (15), Stephanie Richardson (11). All living, all Pureblood.

Family Background

Spencer and Isabelle got married when they were 19 and 18 respectively, shortly after Isabelle graduated from Hogwarts. Theirs is not a love story, but rather, a business arrangement, and neither saw any issues with this; indeed, Isabelle was rather pleased to have been chosen by a Richardson, knowing she was marrying into good fortune.

Both parties know their respective jobs and duties, and respect that. They have a mutual understanding, and make their marriage work. After many years of trying, Isabelle finally got pregnant when she was 22, and subsequently gave birth to Serafina 9 months later. They proceeded to have another three children after that.

The three younger siblings are closer, leaving Serafina as the outlier most of the time. However, she doesn’t really mind, knowing that they nevertheless look up to her. Most of the time, their parents keep McKendra, Chris, and Steph away from her, not wanting her point of views to be adopted by them, as well; one ‘rebel’ was enough of a problem. Still, when Serafina does have the chance to be with them, they do have their fun.
