OOC: Frank is Lucy's demiguise (janey is the handler) please ask for action/reaction from Frank if he's to be included Razz
Frank

Frank had seen where Jake-the-auror-Lucy's-friend had taken her. His Lucy was badly injured. He had ran, making quite a kafuffle as he ran to her.

Frank arrived on the fourth floor the same time the one known as Jake arrived. His Lucy wrapped in up in Jake-the-aurors arms he was going to claw her out of his arms at the speed he was running to her.

He watched as his Lucy was put on the bed, sitting on the bedside table next to her . He didn't care if people saw him his Lucy was injured and he needed to be there. He looked up at Jake-the-Auror and now Jake-the-Hero and gave a soft nod from his big cute face. He was grateful to the man.

Lucy's body was covered in a cloak. Jake-the-Hero's cloak to be exact but his Lucy was injured. He felt for her pulse. No not dead. Just very very sick. Frank looked up at Jake-the-Hero. Fear in his face. Was Lucy going to get better? His face seemed to ask. He crawled around to Jake's side. Gently tugging on the hero's leg. Frank the Demiguise was scared for the health of his Lucy on the bed.

Frank had seen the injuries given to the girl, but as hard as he tried he couldn't see his Lucy's future but Frank kept tugging on Jake-the-Hero's pants. Frank wanted to be picked up to touch the man again to give him his thanks for saving his Lucy, he recognized Jake-the-Hero was very brave and had very powerful magic to do what he did.

Arielle seemed to have a busy day today. She had quite many works there and well she didn't really mind being busy. She actually likes it. She had then something to do actually. She was done with one patient then there was already new one who she needed help.

She was about to go take a break for few minutes but she couldn't since there was the new person who needed help. So she decided to go and check on that person first. Seemed like everyone else very busy too. She walked over the room where she was now placed in the bed.

"Hello," she said there and looked at the people in that room. There was even some demiguise even. She really wasn't sure why it was here but she didn't ask. It wasn't really her business. "So what did happen to this young woman?" she wanted to be sure before she begins to treat her injuries. It's better to know what happened so you know what you will be expecting. She wasn't even sure how that demiguise will respond to her there.

Arielle knew that young woman needed help for sure. But yes she really wasn't sure how she can be helpful right now. She walked over the woman and touched if she had pulse what she seemed to have. So she was alive for sure. Then she noticed her some injuries too. Probably since she needs to examine entire her body at some point there.

Finding Lucy in that state had not been nice for Jake. His Auror instincts had kicked in to stop him from feeling the emotions - but they would come, oh yes. When this was all over, and he had time to reflect, all the emotions that could be associated with seeing one of your students like this would bubble to the surface. Spill over, and consume him.

But as he laid Lucy on the bed, he knew that now was not this time.

As the Healer came in to the room, Jake paid no attention to Frank. Yes, the Demiguise might be worried, but Jake only cared about Lucy in that moment. The question... Jake had to bite back the obvious retort that would be icy cold. "She was abducted about five days ago. I found her tied up in a room, and I presume she'd been tortured physically, and perhaps with magic too." Jake told the witch, his tone taking on the informative stance of his job.

"I haven't done an examination myself, I just got her here as quickly as I could." Jake added, hoping this would prompt the Healer in to action. Turning back to Frank, Jake picked the beast up as he was requesting, though his eyes remained on the figure of Lucy. Hoping to Merlin that she was going to pull through this. That he hadn't been too late.

Frank didn't like being ignored but knew it was needed and listened. He watched as a girl came in, before finally Jake-the-hero picked him up. He showed Jake that he couldn't see Lucy's future before moving so he was gently clinging to his shoulder and neck sitting so he wouldn't be in the way before swinging up onto the roof. His watch over Lucy was going to be long but his Lucy needed it. It was up to Jake-the-hero to let her mother know and her boss that Lucy was found.

Lucy in the meantime, in her subconsciousness could hear voices. She heard Jake, and a lady but she didn't know where they were or where she was. But it felt so comfortable. Her body had cuts and burns and bruises and breaks but here was so nice. A warmth began spreading over her. She didn't want to wake up.

In the real world her body was just barely managing to stay alive and her pulse was getting slower. It would be a fight to keep her alive let alone get her better.

((OOc list of injuries sustained))
Breaks
-broken wrist, dislocated jaw,, hairline fracture in cheekbone, possible broken ribs
Wounds
- Carving in her shoulder of squib by cursed blade and a small nick on her neck from the same
-multiple cuts over body non life threatening

Burns
-Burns on side of neck, superficial, 2nd degree in worst spots

Others
-Multiple uses of cruciatis curse
-Heavy facial bruising and burst vein in right eye
-tooth missing
-General redness and bruising over body
-possible internal bleeding in around abdomen area from repeated punches

Arielle looked at Jake when she heard him to speak what had happened with this young woman. To be honest she was now even more concerned when she heard that she was probably tortured even. She knew this won't be good. Well, chances from getting alive out from few days of torturing weren't never that good.

She slowly began to examine her injuries even more. She did see there bruises and even some burns. There seemed to be even some guts but they didn't seem to be life threating ones. "This doesn't seem to be good," she said there and was sure it won't be that easy to save her.

She sighed. Awhile examining she noticed that young woman's heart beat went slower. She was worried now. She couldn't let her die like this. Ari took a deep breath and wasn't exactly sure what she should even do there. All she knew that this woman was in bad shape for sure. She had very little of chances to stay up.

She even thought that there might be internal bleeding but she couldn't be sure about it. She knew she needs to make her heart beat come back.

Clarinda hurried down the corridors as quickly as she dared. She never ran unless it was absolutely necessary -- patients and (the newer) healers had a tendency to get worked up or anxious if they saw the head healer running -- and as such, she was taking brisk long steps, passing open doors and ignoring anybody who tried to start small talk with a shake of her head and a wave of her hand, telling them without words: Not now. Emergency. I'm busy.

Spell damage was her speciality, and as soon as the word had come in that a halfblood had been found and rescued after multiple days missing -- and, more than that, found by an auror in the den of some Deadly Nightshades -- she had abandoned the files on her table without so much as closing them. The healer beside her filled her in as she walked. Cruciatus. Broken bones. Burns. Cuts. What worried her most was that carving into her skin; if done by magical means, it could be permanent. She barely hid a shudder as she was told that it spelt out the word: Squib.

Entering the room, she glanced around, just in time to hear the healer there mutter a comment. Walking over without a word, she glanced down at the patient, quickly taking note of all the wounds. There would be more internal ones, but for now she would deal with what she saw. “She’ll be just fine. I've seen worse,” she said, shooting a glance at the current healer. It was unprofessional to say anything negative in front of the patient; it didn't help them mentally.

Wand already out and in her hand, she touched the tip to the wrist, obviously broken, and muttered, “Ossio dispersimus.” Moving the wand to the witch’s jaw, she said, “Episkey.”

Next, she turned her attention to the shoulder, very quickly debating between a few spells. Then, making up her mind in the time it took her to point the wand at it, she murmured, “Vulnera sanentur,” and watched as the wound closed. Mentally cussing as she saw the alphabets remained -- meaning that it had been magically done -- she repeated the spell on the different cuts on her body, immediately followed by “Tergeo,” to clean it up a little.

Then, summoning a potion from a nearby cupboard, she popped open the cap and measured out a sip worth. Pulling the witch’s mouth open, she poured it in, the liquid meant to stabilise heart rate and blood pressure.

Satisfied that anything pressing was taken care of, she stepped away from the patient, casting a quick Muffliato so that she’d have privacy. Then, losing her professional mask of emotionlessness, turned sharply towards the healer.

“Who is your head of department?” she asked, tone quiet but hard, showing that she was not pleased. “It was obvious that there were multiple lacerations that required immediate medical attention; we are expected to heal, not ask questions unless absolutely vital. On top of that, we never discuss the state of the patient in front of them, especially if they're not doing well. We assure, we comfort, and we heal. That is the simplest I can describe our job.” She paused to ensure that the healer understood her words. Then, with a note of finality, she said, “I expect you to report to your head of department to explain your actions -- or rather, lack of.”

With that done, she turned towards the auror there, raising a single eyebrow at the demiguise. “I assume you must be the auror who found her?” She didn't wait for an answer. “I am told they teach you basic healing spells during your training, all of which take a mere few seconds to perform. I have to ask why you did not perform any of these. Perhaps you might not have medical training, but it is obvious that she was in no condition to be moved; you could have killed her.” She wasn't one to mince her words, not when it came to the safety and wellbeing of a patient; feelings should no be spared if it meant saving a life. In this case, she wanted to make it absolutely clear to the auror that a repeat of this might not turn out so well.

Again waiting a heartbeat to ensure he understood her words, Clarinda gestured to the patient behind her. “Intentions may be pure, but intentions alone can kill if not backed up by practicality and common sense. Next time -- and I hope to Merlin there isn't -- prioritise health over anything. It may have been a hellhole, but if she's dead does it matter if she died there or in a hospital?”

The entire time she spoke calmly, without raising her voice. She wasn't exactly angry, just irked at the lack of common sense -- what was the world coming to? -- and needing to ensure something like this didn't happen again. Eyes flickering towards the demiguise, she looked back at the auror and, without any sort of hesitation, ordered, “Now please take that creature and get out of my room. There’s a strict no pets policy, and I need space to save this girl’s life.”

Her peace having been said, she started to move back to her patient (there were still things to be done, especially the internal side of it all) before something hit her and she turned back towards the auror. “Thank you for finding her. You may request for me for an update -- my name is Clarinda Jennson.” With that, she returned to her patients side, wand in hand.

The first Healer, in Jake's very limited knowledge, seemed rather incompetent in her work as she didn't really do anything for a few moments. Jake was about to call the witch out for this, and ask her if there was a problem when the doors opened, and another Healer entered. Jake moved out of the way of the bed so that they could both work. He knew well enough from the time he'd spent in the hospital with Veronika and Ivan that Healers liked their space, and Lucy was going to need all the help she could get.

A few moments flashed by as the second Healer worked on what Jake assumed to be the easier things to correct. His eyes taking note of the work - he only just noticed the markings on Lucy's back when the examination continued, and his fists balled by his sides as he noted the word Squib. He was going to find the Nightshades who did this, and Merlin help them when he did.

But, Jake's revenge plan was interrupted as the second Healer gave the first something of a verbal lashing. The Auror stood back, eyes averted, but thanking Merlin that he was not the one under fire.

That, however, was Jake's undoing, as the Healer moved on to him. "Auror Newbury, ma'am." Jake replied to the question of having found Lucy. The next bit made him cringe slightly. He knew, now, that he hadn't done his job well. He'd been too worried about getting Lucy out of the building, away from the Nightshades and safe, that the consideration of first aid had not been one that he'd even contemplated in that moment. Why... he couldn't say, it was protocol. It was common sense. There was no excuse.

It was a lecture that Jake received, but he was not about to retort, or respond nastily to it. The Healer had not raised her voice, and they both knew she was right.

"I do apologise. No excuse for what I did. I was just more focused on getting her away from her captors. It won't happen again." Jake told the witch, admitting he'd been wrong before he turned to Frank. Taking him by the arm, Jake placed him outside the door. "Wait outside the Hospital. I'll bring news." He told the creature, shutting the door after him and turning back to the Healer who was working on Lucy.

"If I may... Healer Jennson. I think it best that I stay until I'm relieved by another Auror. This case is sensitive." Jake explained, motioning to Lucy but staying by the door. "I will stay out of your way, and only speak when you speak to me." He added, and then, he shut up, standing at ease just inside the door, and watching the Healer work.

All any of them could do now, was hope that they had been quick enough. That Jake's inaction would not cost the witch her life. And that Healer Jennson could help Lucy pull through.

Clarinda merely nodded at the apology. It wasn't her place to forgive the man; she held no grudge against him. He may have made her job slightly more difficult, but he'd been doing what he deemed was best, and that was all you could ask of someone when it came down to time sensitive issues.

No, he had not wronged her. There were a few, of course, who would have the choice of offering the auror forgiveness -- himself included -- but she wasn't one of them.

At his next words, she paused for a fraction of a moment to consider what he said. If it were safety Auror Newbury was concerned about, Clarinda could have assured him not to worry, told him that, as a healer, she would step in front of anybody who tried to harm her patient -- and, as the Minister of Magic's wife, she could have an entire squad of aurors at her exact location in a few seconds with but a word spoken, meaning that whichever patient she was protecting would also have an entire squad of aurors to ensure their safety.

But Clarinda was never one to throw a title around unless absolutely necessary. As it was, she'd already used her position as head healer, and while not something she enjoyed doing, it had been needed.

Besides, a part of her wondered if the auror was staying because he felt responsible for the female on the bed. Whether or not this was true, Clarinda didn't speculate -- but, as someone in the profession of saving people, she understood the basic instinct to care for those under you and didn't question him on this. It was always good to know that she didn't need to worry about some stupid terrorists (or whatever they were officially called; in her eyes, they were just that) showing up to finish their job.

So, simply nodding again, Clarinda pointed to a chair in the corner without turning. "You may have a seat, if you wish. This will take a while. If you need anything, let me know. She may be a priority, but if you feel you need a checkup as well, I can have another -- experienced -- healer give you a look over," she told him as she stood by the witch on the bed, giving her another, more thorough, examination to see if there was anything external she'd missed.

To herself, so softly under her breath it wouldn't have been audible in the slightest, she murmured, "Hmm, burns. A salve would work. And check for possible internal bleeding. Would there be head trauma? Dehydration, too..." Trailing off, she raised her tone to address the male. "Auror Newbury, what condition did you find her in?"

Even as she waited for an answer, she was muttering spells, cleaning and healing the minor wounds, now that things weren't so pressing.

Frank gave a soft hiss as he was taken out, how dare the woman call him a mere pet! He looked up at Jake. His eyes begging him not to close the door but closed it was. Frank sighed and sat outside the door, making sure he wasn't seen as he waited.

Lucy however didn't know what was going on but as time went on she found herself not feeling warm anymore but she felt..Comfortable. Her body, with a lot of help was pulling through thanks to the healers work.

It was only once that she regained consciousness, a few seconds before she was given a potion and went back to sleep. She knew she was alive, because she doubted Jake, who she could hear clearer now was dead. Nor did she believe her afterlife was going to be her in a hospital.

Area's hurt even in her sleep, but soon they stopped too and she slept. Her body exhausted. Luckily apart from bruising from beatings there was no brain damage. Not physical. Perhaps mental damage but no one could know for certain.

Jake simply watched the Healer working, the longer this took, the more the worry touched his features. He couldn't rush the Healer, of course, and simply remained quietly at the side, as he'd said he would, keeping an eye on the situation. The comment of sitting, or getting himself checked out made Jake shake his head.

"I'm fine, thank you ma'am, no harm done to me." He told her softly. It would be obvious in his tone of voice that he wished this wasn't the case. If Jake could have taken any of Lucy's pain he would have. But this was not how it worked. The witch who had no experienced in this type of magic - Jake's Auror training instructor had put them through a lot to make sure they were ready - but he could have worked through this better. His magical core stronger than Lucy's would have aided that.

But it was the witch who'd always struggled with Self-Defence that had fallen victim.

Jake's attention was retaken when the Healer murmured over the witch, checking things over. Jake watched the Healer at work. He could see her mumbling to herself about what was wrong with Lucy, but he couldn't hear her words. Jake was tempted to ask her for the list of problems she was finding with Lucy as she went (even if Healer Jennson would supply them with it anyway) to occupy himself, but decided against it. Instead remembering that he'd promised to stay quiet and out of the way unless asked to speak.

The question that was directed towards him brought Jake to attention, his mind skipping back to the scene. "She was unconscious when I found her, ma'am. Her body slumped in the chair rather than really holding itself up. Obviously, as we've discussed, all the cuts and lacerations you can see and have healed were clear. Her body was naked. The room more than a little mild..." The man paused, if she wanted a medical examination he couldn't have given it to her. "Lucy regained consciousness when I went to move her, though, ma'am. She said something, but it was weak. I couldn't make out the words. The. She lost consciousness just as I apparated here.

"Did you need anything more specific, ma'am?" Jake asked, because he was sure he could answer any of the more direct questions if needed.

A single nod at the auror's words, she turned her attention back to the witch. With most cases, injuries were obvious; this was not her typical case, though, and she knew there was a lot that she hadn't yet healed. The young witch before her still had a ways to go before she would be physically okay.

Muggles had things like x-rays and stitches, and while sometimes she wished St. Mungo's would allow things like MRI scans to be introduced. If they would work in the wizarding world, she wasn't sure -- but she knew that in cases like this it would be most helpful. Of course, there were spells that accomplished things similar to the Muggle machines and techniques, but there were some things that just could not be replicated.

Many hours had Clarinda spent pouring over muggle medical books, learning as much as she could about the different procedures and wondering what could be applied on those in the wizarding community and what couldn't. She hadn't developed any new spells -- she simply wasn't talented enough a witch for that -- but she had some ideas that she passed down and up to those who were.

Nodding again as he explained how he'd found her, she had to force herself to breathe normally at the 'naked' part. There were many reasons for this -- humiliation, dehumanisation, exposure to the elements -- but she couldn't help but wonder if they'd... done more.

"The room, was it damp or dry? What type of chair was she on? Hard, soft, wood, metal?" she asked. This would determine if she needed to check for splinters or bruised muscles. "Also, you said she woke up. Was she responsive -- looking around, gripping onto you, or any other conscious movement -- or just disorientated?"

She paused, looking at the girl. She'd have to conduct testing later on for any signs of the different kind of abuse, but not while a male was there. Instead, she said, "Call me Clarinda; it's easier. Ma'am is too formal," as her eyes moved to the witch's face. She would have to check for any internal injuries.

There was a complicated spell that allowed her to get a (mostly) accurate reading of the witch's internal status, and, pointing the wand at her own eyes, she murmured the spell with as much concentration as she could spare. A moment later, her vision blurred before correcting itself, and she focused her attention onto her patient's head, seeing not entirely through it but a blurry image of the inside -- the brain.

There was no bleeding as far as she could see, and she moved her gaze downwards, taking note of the broken ribs, mentally categorising it for later. As she moved her sight down, a very slight dip in her eyebrows were the only external concern she showed as she noted the internal bleeding around the abdomen. That would be the next thing she did. Finishing her scan, she relaxed her grip on the wand, feeling the spell come to an end, and lowered it from the side of her head.

It was a taxing spell, but it was worth it in cases like this.

The minutes turned in to hours, but Jake didn't falter from his place. Watching without really knowing what the Healer before him was doing, but trusting that everything was necessary and helping. Jake's mind stayed in operation mode, not daring to switch off and think of Lucy as anything short of a victim to a crime. Treating her as more would open him up to emotions, and Jake had done enough wrong for one day.

The question that came helped, though, and Jake closed his eyes briefly to remember the scene in which he'd found Lucy. Bringing back everything he could remember to the forefront of his mind. Reliving it so that he could answer the questions asked in as much detail as possible.

"Dry." Jake responded to the first question, though his tone did not hide the note of uncertainty. Uncertainty which came in to being with his next explanation. "It wasn't damp. But there were water marks on the floor around L- your patient. I... would imagine water was used in the process." Jake explained, the last word very sour because the idea of all of this would make him stomach churn if he let it.

"Wooden. And she was bound to it. With rope." Jake explained for completeness. He hadn't seen if it was broken in anyway, so he could not answer any further on that point. But he hoped that would be enough for Healer Jennson.

"She stirred long enough to say my name, and the word stop. But nothing else. She could barely manage those two words in truth." Jake explained in respect of Lucy's actions when he'd been moving her. He hadn't known why Lucy wanted him to stop, but that request had been ignored.

The insistence to call Healer Jennson by her first name was one that Jake nodded in reply. He would do so next time he was addressing her directly, and not answering questions. Jake fell silent once more, watching, waiting.

Time slipped away from Jake, in truth, his eyes simply waiting for something. A good sign. But he wasn't a Healer. Anything beyond basic healing had him stumped. So when, and only when, Clarinda seemed to come to a slight pause in her work, Jake softly cleared his throat.

"Heal- Clarinda... how... how is she going to do?" Jake managed to ask. "She's going to make it?" He clarified. But his tone was not the worrisome family member who needed reassurance. No Jake's tone was clear. He wanted an honest answer. Not a bullshit answer for the worried.

Listening intently to his answers, she mulled over the information, storing it away for her report later. At the very least it had been dry; hypothermia occured at a much lower rate when there wasn't water present. But that thought was quickly put out when the auror continued.

She had to hide a gentle smile at the word he used. Torture was torture; there was no point trying to call it something else to lessen the effect. There wasn't anything to soften, in the end. The witch before her still went through it whether it was called 'process', 'torture', 'ordeal', or whatever other words people favoured. But she could understand that some weren't quite as comfortable with the proper term.

Personally, though, it made no difference. The only time she phrased it carefully was when talking to either the patient or the family (and friends) of said patient; other than that, to other professionals, she kept it simple and straightforward.

But, respecting that there was a possibility that Auror Newbury had some issues with the whole topic, Clarinda didn't comment, instead nodding as he continued. "Do you know what material the rope was?" she asked. A seemingly unimportant question -- and, perhaps, it was in an emergency -- but she had time, and she knew that different ropes had different effects.

Shaking off the lone memory of her biological father teaching her said differences, Clarinda noted the further information with another nod. At least the witch before her knew what was going on -- but the word 'stop' was what bothered her the most. Was it a plea to be left behind, an instruction because the act of moving her had hurt (in which case spinal injuries might be present), or a fragment of a sentene the witch never finished?

"Thank you," she said, going back to the patient. There were still tests to be run and odds and ends to be healed. Not everything could be done at once and Clarinda dealt with the more severe ones first, and the ones that would cause her patient the most discomfort.

Eventually, she stopped for the time being; there was nothing else to be done and she stepped back, turning to the auror. The question brought a smile to her face as she wondered if this was his first torture case; they were always the worst. It didn't get easier with time, but one got better at dealing.

"Yes," she said, simply. "She will make it." Pausing to cast another charm over the sleeping witch -- one never knew what someone could overhear, even when asleep. "The human body -- magical or not -- has been known to recover from some horrible situations. Magic aids, but it's her body that got her thus far."

Pointing at the sleeping witch's shoulder, Clarinda continued. "That was carved with a curse; nothing we can do will remove the scar of the word. We're working on potions, but so far there haven't been any breakthroughs." Letting out a soft sigh, eyes moving to the witch, she added, "However, that's speaking about her physical needs. Torture -- in any form, be it physical or mental -- tends to leave a mental scar that some never recover from, not fully."

"All we can do is wait and watch." She turned to look the auror directly in his eyes. "It is not, however, your responsibility. You did the best you could with what you knew; her mental health is not your burden to carry, nor is it mine. There are professionals to help her. You've done your part, I'm doing mine, and someone else, theirs. Do you understand what I'm saying?"

"Polyester." Jake told the witch in response to the question of ropes. "Though, I believe they were tied through magical methods, not by hand." He added, not sure if this was relevant in that moment, but he said it anyway. More information could never harm, Jake was sure of that much.

Whether anything else had been of use, Jake couldn't say, but the thank you from the Healer was enough for him to know he'd said enough to aid her in her observations. He doubted there was much in there that would save Lucy's life, but who was Jake to say?

Finding Lucy would make it through, Jake let out a soft sigh, a breath he hadn't known to be holding until that point. Now, he could probably relax. As Clarinda continued on, Jake took up the seat he'd been offered a while ago, only know realising he was shaking. It was the shock, he knew that much, but also the relief that this was going to be okay.

The information about the scar was one that made Jake nod. "We... could possibly teach her a spell to cover it?" Jake asked the witch, wondering if that was an option. Not that he condoned covering scars, but it might help the recovery period.

But as Clarinda said that Lucy's mental illness was someone else's problem, and whether he understood. "I can't leave her on her own through this..." Jake replied, his eyes moving to the sleeping witch. Worry was written on his features, Clarinda might not understand why, but Jake had made his decision.

Once again nodding at his information, she kept her gaze on the sleeping patient. Polyester cut deep, causing bruising and chaffing, and was quite the unforgiving material. She would have to keep an eye on the witch's wrists for signs of internal bleeding.

The choice of words didn't escape her. A witch of that age should know concealment charms, but with what had been carved into her shoulder it was obvious she wasn't a powerful one. Spells were useful, yes, but they were dependant on those who cast it. Surely there were other options that didn't involve direct magic? Turning to consider the auror, her words died on her lips as she noticed his shaking, instinct taking over.

Walking over to a table nearby, she grabbed a teacup and a flask, opened it, and poured out steaming hot tea. Wordlessly, she summoned a potion from the cupboard; carefully, she poured in two drops of the purple liquid before replacing the stopper. That done, she picked up the teacup and walked over to the auror.

"Drink this," she said. It was an instruction, not an offer. "It will calm your nerves." There was a slight edge to her tone, not judging him for shaking but almost reprimanding him for not sitting earlier. "Would you like me to call in a replacement for you now?" That wasn't exactly protocol, but she had her contacts, and it wouldn't be hard to have another auror there in a few minutes. She paused, considering something, and then added, "In fact, I think I must insist. You've told me all I need to know, and I wish to conduct further examinations without the presence of a male."

She smiled a gentle, knowing smile at his next words, understanding where he was coming from. It was a rookie mistake, one that people made no matter how high up they were or how long they'd been at the job. Those who were lucky didn't have to make this mistake until many years into their working life, but so far she hadn't met anyone retired who could claim they hadn't tried to take on responsibilities they weren't meant to. It was a costly lesson, usually resulting in sleepless nights and anxiety, but it was also a necessary one; it taught one boundaries, and limitations. It showed one that it wasn't possible to save everyone, and that you did what you could and left the rest to those who could carry on from where you stopped. It showed one that each person had a job, and when not to take things further. It showed one that it was okay to let go, to step back and let someone find their own wings.

But it was also difficult and painful, and Clarinda hated it when those she knew had to learn it. She did not enjoy watching people hurt, especially for something out of their control -- but she also knew that this was necessary for them, and that there was nothing she could do. Sure, she could tell them, warn them, teach them, but everyone always thought they were the exception. That they would be the one that it wasn't true for. That they were, in a sense, able to do the impossible.

That was never true.

And so, the knowing smile never leaving her lips, she played her part, explaining, "You aren't, auror Newbury. You're leaving her to the professionals, who know what they're doing and are trained to help her in the best way they can."

She doubted he would heed her advice -- they never did -- but it was what she needed to do, as she always did. Later, once the lesson had taken place and he was done learning, she would be there to offer him a cup of tea and a listening ear, should he want or need it. But for now, all she could do was repeat her warning as she had done so many times before.

The cup of tea that came made Jake feel so bad for causing the witch to fuss. "I'm sorry..." Jake replied, taking the cup without delay and sipping it. "I didn't mean to cause any fuss. It's... my second..." Jake motioned to Lucy, knowing the Healer would understand. "It doesn't get any easier." He added, mostly to himself more than anything. The question of getting a replacement made Jake shake his head.

But the insistence was one Jake couldn't really argue with. He was going to have paperwork to deal with, and thus, he agreed with a nod of his head. Probably best that someone else come in so that they could get Ms. Belware notified before anyone else told her.

The words that he should not be taking on the work to aid Lucy's recovery were ones he listened to, but not ones he was going to heed. He... well, he felt like it was partly his fault - having not taught her well enough at school - but also for not have found her sooner. But, instead of saying that, Jake just nodded his head, draining the cup, and putting it on the side.

"I will... leave you to your examinations, and have a replacement over within half an hour." Jake told the Healer, feeling slightly better after the tea, but still not great. He needed his wife, that's what would help.

Moving towards the door, he turned back to the Healer one last time. "Thank you, Clarinda... for everything." He told her, before stepping out, and heading back towards the Ministry.

Arielle did step away from the girl's body when that other healer had come in. She even heard what she asked from her and told her but she wasn't sure what she should say even there. She just tried to help even if she had for sure long day ahead of her.

She knew she shouldn't have done what she did now. And well she just stood there and watched when that older healer did. Probably even head of some department was helping the girl, well young woman now. She just wasn't good at her work as she thought she was. She even began to question herself there.

She took a deep breath. "I'm just gonna go now. And leave you here to deal with her then. Answer do your question I'm not sure. There were just a changes about it recently. It's one older man named Ethan if I'm correct. Anyways yeah I'm not capable of all that what you are. So yeah you are every right to be mad at me. I probably did yes some things wrong there. Don't worry I won't be on your way any longer," she said. She didn't show any sadness or anything like that in her voice. She was good at hiding her emotions there.

Even if those words kind of did hurt. Well, she knew now that she did some things wrong but saying them out like this wasn't that good to hear for sure. So she just decided to leave the room. She felt like she wasn't needed there. Probably her head of department will hear about this for sure. Anyways Arielle was planning to quit her job already there and find herself something else to do. Sh wasn't yet sure what.

"Good Bye," she said and basically left then finally. She just wasn't sure where she even went right now.
