After a busy summer, Jake was welcoming back the normality of the classes he took. It would mean he was busier, but routine would set back in, and routine had been missed over the summer holidays. Though, of course, it had not all been doom and gloom. He'd managed to spend a lot of time with his kids, and his wife, something Jake was more that happy with.

Especially seeing as they'd come to the agreement that they would try for just one more child.

This had brought more happiness to Jake's life. He'd always wanted a lot of kids, and now, that was coming true. First, though, he had to deal with the kids in the school. Not his own, but still cared for deeply by the professor.

This year, Jake had chosen to split his classes out, meaning he could focus on the capabilities of the students in smaller sections. He was taking the younger students in the morning, the older ones in the afternoon, hoping this would help both parties.

On the board this afternoon were two words. Spell Resistance. Jake sat atop his desk, and, as per usual, he had cleared the room of desk and chairs, denoting a practical lesson.

Cassiopeia liked DADA lessons more than Muggle Studies for sure. So this lesson can be interesting for her even. She wasn't that good in this lesson for sure but she managed to do things away when needed. Not always with the first try for sure but at least she tried to be active in this class.

She walked into the classroom and smiled for seconds. She had no idea how her day will go today. She hoped nothing bad won't happen for sure. Currently, she was in good mood and she hoped it would stay for awhile.

She looked at the board and thought what she knows about those two words on board. Actually, she realised she had no idea. She kneeled towards the wall and waited for others to show up. "Hello," she realised she hasn't said it yet. She at least tried to be nice.

Lainee had been looking forward to starting classes up once again, and being able to prepare herself more than just reading books with trying to get outstandings and exceed expectations on her owl. The girl had been walking up to the DADA classroom, as he had been fully awake, and smiling since she hoped she could see someone she liked. Then again knew her brother attended classes, but rarely did. So she would get off with a clean slate.

She had been curious to see what they would be learning this year, and what things she could do this year. The year had been looking forward to her fifth year, and quickly walked down the corridor which led to the DADA classroom. Finally coming to the door as she had entered the classroom seeing only one more student in it. The girl could not help but smile. This meant she could in many ways socialize with others.

Then saw the professor, shooting him a smile. She had been easily in a good mood, and she knew damn well that nothing would take that good mood away from her. Lainee had placed her belongings down as she entered the classroom. Seeing as there was not many students in the class and had then made her way in the class.

Briefly looking at board, as it read Spell Resistance. The girl had began to wonder what sort of spells they would end up trying to resist, as she found a spot. Standing there waiting for the class to begin.

Jake wasn't a horrible professor, but sometimes he was a bit weird and happy and way too friendly but that was coming from Severine. After lunch, Severine walked to the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. She was shocked when she had walked in toonly 2 other students but then remembered something about classes being split by year level this term meaning more lessons tailored to her skill power.

Severine was glad because it meant less clumsy first years accidentally hitting her with some sort of spell. Severine took a spot against the wall, setting down her back and looking to the board. She didn't know who she'd pair up with, for there was no one she knew or particularly wanted to know here yet, so of course that was no bueno. However Severine was certain someone she knew or thought was cute would enter soon. For now, Severine decided to lean against the wall and wait, her red lips turning up into a slight grin.

Defense Against the Dark Arts was not her best subject, but Elyah had decided that from this year and on, she would try her best to be part of every class, even if she was bored or bad at it. Last year, she had been failing almost everything, except potions. She was good at brewing, and that was why she had been considering becoming a Potioneer once she graduated. That's it unless Professor Balan decides to murder her. Even if it wasn't actually her fault.
The Fifth Year still remembered the Potions Accident that almost damaged her career as a student. Thankfully, she didn't pay the price for Max's clumsiness.

Once the girl arrived on the third floor, she quietly made her way down the corridors until she reached the classroom. Pushing the door open, Elyah looked around for any familiar faces, but she was faced with none. She didn't know the other girls and that was why she decided to keep a low profile and stand against the wall somewhere in the back of the classroom. She wouldn't bother anyone there.

Brayden over years have liked DADA lessons and he seems to get most of the things in this lesson even. He is sure that this lesson is one of his favourite classes even and he will attend here for sure. He doesn't like to miss these lessons that much. He seems to enjoy this lesson.

He didn't seem to have anything against the professor even. He didn't really judge people very easily. So he just let it slide how the professor seemed to act around his students. Today wasn't any exception the boy walked into the classroom. He greeted the professor and then looked around the classroom, maybe he can spot someone who he knows here.

He noticed that even Lainee was in this class today. Brayden walked over the girl. "Hey, Lainee," he said with a small smile on his face. He seemed to smile quite much around her and he didn't mind it but he was a bit worried that his best friend will get the wrong idea if he keeps being so friendly towards his sister.

Defense Against the Dark Arts was a class that Joshua had once found interesting. He used to walk into the room wanting to know what Professor Newbury would have in store for the students, each face hungry for the knowledge that would soon fill the room. Nowadays, the Hufflepuff spent the lessons drowning in the monotony of Jake's teachings. He knew that the professor tried to keep his lessons excited, introducing new teachings and methods as often as possible. But even the most excited classes got repetitive after a year or so.

This time, Joshua prepared himself to fight the monotony beforehand; the only form of homework that he'd ever done in the course of his life. During the Summer months, the boy had thought to himself,

'Now, Joshua. What is the biggest problem with Defense Against The Dark Arts?'

As all great minds do, his responded, Well the answer is obvious, Joshua. How many times have you entered the room thinking, 'Gee. I really wish that I had a place to sit. But alas, Newbury's all expenses paid trip to DADA does not include in-class seating?''

Now Joshua pondered this for a second, wondering if perhaps his inability to have a proper thinking chair during the lessons could possibly be the problem. Of course, this seemed like the missing puzzle piece to everything that had ever gone wrong in his lifetime.

Now knowing how to fix his life, Joshua had taken a day trip to a Muggle store by the name of IKEA. IKEA was a magical place that sold all sorts of furniture and house decor related items. They were also well known for their Sweedish meatballs, though it was unknown as to why a furniture store sold Sweedish meatballs. Joshua entered the maze bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and he exited as a new man.

Once the school year began, Joshua brought his IKEA spirit with him right into the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. He eyed the board quickly, unimpressed with the day's lesson, and he set two large boxes in the middle of the room. Out of these boxes, he dumped out what appeared to be myriad different pieces of plastic and cushioned leather. A wheel rolled over to some first year's foot. Thankfully, the first returned said wheel in an orderly fashion.

With no context or warning whatsoever, Joshua pointed his wand towards the pile of objects and yelled, "Reparo!" Instantaneously, the pieces began to come together into two large office chairs. As the chairs finished, Joshua took his rightful place in one of them. The Hufflepuff spun his chair around to face the professor. He then took a pair of sunglasses out of his pocket and said, "I am ready now."

Jake's class filled up quite well, his students coming in in quite the flurry together. Smiling to the greetings, Jake responded in much the same manner as those who had spoken to him. Hellos, good mornings, whatever Jake was spoken to, he returned. Seemingly most of them had little and less to say, but Jake didn't worry about that. Teenagers were still kids, trying to work themselves out.

However, Jake's professor-instincts were stolen from him when one Joshua Abbott entered the room with two boxes and proceeded to take out the pieces inside, placing them on the floor. The IKEA label on the box brought a smile to Jake's features as he simply stood back and watched the Hufflepuff 'repair' the chair in to form.

Joshua continued to sit on the chair, turning it to face the professor before pulling a pair of sunglasses from his pocket and setting them in place. Any other professor in the school would likely have gone off on one at Joshua for being rude, or wasting time, but quite honestly, it was one of the best things Jake had ever seen in his teaching career. To be mad would only have been a lie.

"I'm very glad that you're ready and we can now start, Joshua." Jake told him, his tone amused as he shook his head to concentrate back on what was important in that moment. "So, today, we will be looking at Spell Resistance. Who knows what I mean when I use these terms?" Jake asked, looking around the room for an answer from someone.
