Meeting with the Family (Byrnes Family/Prim)

The letter that Primrose had received a couple of days ago had certainly taken the Gryffindor by surprise purely because of whom the letter had been sent by; her uncle. She had instantly recognised the crest that had been stamped on the back and she had stared at the unopened envelope for a good few minutes before she had opened it.

The letter had been simple and to the point; it had been an invitation to the Byrne manor with a port key that would go off two days after she had received the letter and deposit her in the Floo Room of the manor. She hadn't even written a reply, her uncle didn't require one before she had quickly packed all of her stuff into her trunk and eagerly waited for the moment where she could get away from the orphanage for at least a couple of days.

When the port key went off and she had landed in a very beautiful room, Prim had to remind herself that this would be part of her life now and that she had to act like a pureblood when around her uncle and not like she did at Hogwarts. Unconsciously straightening her back, her chin rose and a polite smile was on her lips within moments, patiently waiting for whoever was going to come and collect her from the room; she was perfectly aware that it was unpolite to leave without an escort when you didn't know the place.

James' father had arranged to meet Prim, after James had written to him, detailing the event that determined Prim to be related to the Byrnes by blood. James knew that his father had been, well, acting rather odd about it, maybe because it had forced his father to talk about his brother, by which James could tell, was a sore spot for him.

His siblings had had mixed reactions upon learning about their mysterious uncle, and what he had done. Anthony had been curious, wanted to learn more about what drove his uncle to do what he did- though their father refused to delve into details. Florrie hadn't wanted anything to do with Prim or their uncle- believing it would harm their family reputation- she'd always been high-strung about that sort of thing. And their mother, well, she'd been as curious as Anthony.

Never the less, his father had sent the portkey. The family had waited in the parlour, for the portkey to arrive on the date set. When it was set to arrive, Charles had sent one of their housekeepers, Agatha, to collect Prim from the room.

Agatha opened the door, with a polite smile "This way Miss Seele,", she said, holding the door open for her.

Prim held no actual hope that James' father would accept her as being part of the Byrne family, she was the daughter of his estranged and pretty much betrayer of a brother who knew what sort of person Prim would turn out to be but she hoped from the bottom of her heart that nurture would win over nature; she hoped that how she had been brought up would win over the bad genes that she carried. She hated the thought of not being able to be part of the Byrne family purely because of who her father was but she would silently step back if her uncle deemed her unfit to carry that name.

Waiting patiently for someone to fetch her, Prim just took a curious look around the room before focusing on the woman that had come to fetch her. Letting a polite smile show on her lips, not too wide but not too slight either, Prim followed the woman out of the room, waiting for the other to lead her to where she was supposed to go.

She had a feeling that in this meeting she would have to keep her wits about her and hope that the few lessons Chris had given her would actually pay off and not squander her chances for belonging to this family.

James stood as he saw Prim enter the room. He wasn't sure why, he was just trying to be polite he supposed. Though everyone else remained seated. He cast a glance back at his family and then smiled at Prim.

"Hi," he greeted her before turning fully turning back to his family "So, this is Prim," he introduced her "And Prim, this is Florrie, Anthony, my mother Audrey and my father, Charles," he pointed each one out as he spoke their names. After a moment, Charles was the one to stand, walking casually over to her. His father, he found, was near impossible to read, talented at keeping the same stern face for majority of the time. Though he held out a hand, for Prim to shake.

"So, you must be Edward's..." he said plainly, with no hint at his. She looked nothing like his brother, Charles noted that she must take after her mother.

Prim gave a light smile, the perfect smile that Chris had taught her to give, as James stood and approached her; at least there was one friendly face in a crowd of blood-thirsty purebloods who would, probably, rather see her dead than in their home but then again maybe they would surprise her.

"Hello, James." She replied back in kind before focusing on the other members of the family; her uncle, her aunt and her two younger cousins. Watching them Prim pushed away any thoughts that were not nice, Chris had taught her that she should keep her opinions to herself and not even show them on her face thus that's what she was currently doing. It was much harder doing this in front of the Byrne's then it was in front of her uncle but hopefully she would survive the night.

"Thank you for having me, Uncle." She curtsied, following the instructions that Chris had given her so many months ago; not too low but not too shallow either, the perfect smile on her face and a curious look in her eyes. "Apparently so Uncle..." She started, her head held high but not too high as she watched the people around her from the corner of her eye even though most of her attention was on Charles. "I do not know who my mother is nor do I really know my father, I was but a young baby when I had been left at a muggle orphanage nearly eleven years ago now. I don't know who it is that had left me there; it could've been my mother who couldn't bear looking at the mistake that she had made. Or it could've been my father who didn't want to take care of me."
