Nilla was born one sunny, summer day, four days before her due date. Hardly surprised at their daughter's apparent rush to enter the world, her parents were in awe of her immediately. In her early years, Nilla learned quickly, and took to the outdoors like a duck to water. She loved exploring and climbing any tree that could hold her weight. One day, at the tender age of seven, Nilla was climbing--as she was wont to do--and discovered a wasps nest within the high branches of the tree. She fell, in her fear. As it was a public park, with Muggles among the wizards, one called an ambulance as soon as she fell. At the end of it all, they found out 3/4 of her tibia was shattered, and her fibula was broken in two places. Muggle doctors could hardly do anything, but they had suggested either amputation or simply repairing what they could. Through her tears, Nilla chose amputation.

Now, four years later, she has two thirds of her left leg plus a prosthetic. Initially, she liked showing it off like a trophy, but she soon found that most people viewed her with pity or disgust. Hurt, Nilla began wearing pants at all times to hide her prosthetic, as well as training herself to walk with as little limp as possible. Given that she's still growing, the limping is difficult to avoid, and often emerges when she isn't paying attention or has walked too long without rest.

Jena and Mark met in a small cafe in Muggle London. They hit it off, initially, and became fast friends. That friendship was strained when Mark went off to a Muggle university for photography, and Jena stayed home with her parents. However, it didn't take long for them both to realize that their lives were incomplete without the other. Mark returned, two years into his major, and proposed to Jena at the cafe in which they met.

The wedding was a rushed affair, attended by close family and friends, but the couple loved it all the same. A scant few months into their marriage, Jena discovered her pregnancy and the pair enthusiastically announced it to everyone. Now, Mark works as a freelance photographer in both magical and Muggle media and Jena has taken up selling her own crafty creations at various farmer's markets as well as online.
