Herbology Lesson One - All Years

Kai had heard about the new professor in Herbology and it intrigued him almost as much as the thought of magical plants. However, he wasn't exactly intrigued in Herbology. He thought the idea of gardening wasn't for guys so when the professor was a guy himself, Kai scowled. He always thought guys that played around with flowers and gardening type things were feminine, but the sight of the professor told him anything but.

There was only one other student there and he was significantly younger than Kai. However, Kai didn't exactly want to be alone so he went over near the boy, being careful not to stand too close.

The Gryffindor hated the greenhouses with a passion. They were too hot. He cursed the schol and their dress code of black robes and sweaters before dropping his bag to the ground. There had been no sign of the lesson for today so Kai had no clue what he had gotten himself into.

The girl was bound to either do something with Runes or magical plants. Maybe she might even be a Healer, who knew. However, the girl's largest fascinations were the many magical plants and the Runes. That morning, Layla had practically bounded out of bed at the realisation she'd be attending her first Herbology class. She was also intrigued a bit by the new professor they'd have.

The girl raced down to the greenhouses, he bag bouncing on her hip as her legs hit against it.

When she reached the greenhouses, she could see the professor outside and she called out to him an excited greeting before entering and standing across from the other two boys that were there. Offering the boys a small smile, the girl let her bag hit the floor before placing her hands in front of her, patiently awaiting the beginning of class. She hadn't bothered introducing herself since they were both older, she assumed they didn't care to speak to her.

Naomi practically skipped down to Herbology with Finley. She was ecstatic when she learned that they would finally have a proper professor instead of her just teaching herself out of books. The pair reached the greenhouse first, with Naomi beaming at the professor and wishing his a good morning.

She noticed that Finley looked apprehensive, so she leaned her shoulder against his in support. "He can't be that bad," she whispered to her best friend quietly. "He looks pretty nice, actually."

Quieting as the professor started class, Naomi listened to him introduce himself before gesturing to the plant behind him. Her hand shot into the air. "That's a bubotuber. The parts sticking out have pus in them that, diluted, have several medical benefits. It's also used in some Potions." She blushed, realizing that she sounded like she had memorized the textbook. Which, she practically had, of course, but she didn't need to sound like it.
