| This might have been the only time Amethyst was happy to be inside the Quidditch Pitch. A week before, she could not even think of approaching it. She hated flying, and she had accepted that fact, but there were things that forced her to change her idea of Flying.
First, it was her sister. Amethyst knew that by overcoming her fear of Flying, she would be able to make her sister feel more comfortable to the idea of flying. She knew that her fear of flying was keeping her little sibling back from trying out for the team, when she was an excellent Quidditch payer. But she did not even want to fly because her sister, Amethyst, was scared of it, and that made little Sapphire believe that she couldn't make her family proud.
But Amy was here to change all that. She knew she had to do it after she saw her sister flying, and understood that she was gifted with the ability to fly like this, even if she was fairly new to it. But what pushed her over the edge was the terrible encounter she had with that sly snake, Murray. That was what made her fully understand that she couldn't just sit there and let everyone make fun of her. Neither could she keep this secret forever.
But she was ashamed of going to class, even though that was the only way of learning. She wasn't ready to let everyone know that she was incapable of flying yet. That is why she waited for Professor Jake Newbury to finish his lesson before slipping into the Pitch, and asking him about giving her private lessons. She knew there was a big possibility he would not accept it, but she could only hope.
After some time of practically begging, he had agreed on giving her a few lessons, and Amethyst was going to learn how to fly as soon as possible. She had promised herself that she would overcome this fear. She had to, and she would do it.

| If there was one thing Jake could say he was, it was open. Not about himself, no, but open to helping others in any way they wished, or needed to be helped. Which is why whenever a student came to him with a problem, or for help, he accepted almost instantly.
No begging needed.
Why the witch hadn't turned up to his lessons to learn - after all, that was what they were for - Jake hadn't pressed. If she didn't want to learn in a group, he could give up his lunch hour, or time after the school day had finished on the two days he was there to make up for it. So a Monday or a Friday were the days you would catch Jake in the school.
Jake had given the witch the times he could do, and once she'd picked one, he'd assured her that he would be there, and he could help her with whatever she needed. Shouldering his Firebolt Three, Jake had made his way down to the pitch, waiting for Amethyst to arrive. Where she was going to need tuition from, Jake wasn't sure, but he was a patient man, and would help from the basics if that was what she needed. ________________________________________________~ Auror ~ Profile ~ DADA Professor ~ ~ In a Relationship ~ 36 ~ Father ~ 6' ~ American Accent ~

| The witch was nervous. Even if she tried, how could she possibly know she would succeed? After all these years, it would be really hard to build up to the level she was supposed to be. And that made her even more nervous, since she had asked a Professor to help her.
In Amethyst's mind, Jake Newbury, could have a million other things to do that tutor her, but he had agreed, and Amethyst had now dragged him into this whole mess, without even knowing whether this was a smart thing to do or not. Maybe flying was just not her things. Maybe she just wasn't made for it.
But her last encounter with that Viper, Murray, made her see things otherwise. He was the harshest of all. No one had humiliated her that much because of a fear. But he... he had to torment her by making her go through all of that, and in addition to that, break her wrist as well. She couldn't understand why he had to be this mean. He was a very charming man, but this... it destroyed everything.
Smiling as her eyes landed on her Professor, she pushed her two blonde braids that were framing her face back and moved closer. "Professor! Thank you, for coming!" The girl wanted to hug him, but she knew it would be too inappropriate. "Well, I am ready to start right away if you wish. We can start from the basics. It's not like I know much.." |

| Seeing the witch enter the stadium, Jake smiled in her direction as she moved over. The notion of being called professor made Jake smile softly, shaking his head with a soft chuckle. "Please, call me Jake." He insisted to the witch, he'd never liked the term professor, and it was possibly one of only a few things that hadn't changed about him over the years.
"And you're welcome too. I want to see everyone succeed." Jake added, and he meant it. However long it took, he was quite sure there was nothing better than seeing people excel in the things they had once not been so good at.
"From the basics?" Jake asked, his surprise hidden from plain view because he wasn't so rude as to judge openly. "Okay, that isn't a problem. So, first thing is first, lie your broom out on the ground, like so." Jake instructed, lying his broom down on his left hand side. "Oh, unless you're right handed, then put it on your right instead." Jake instructed, just about remembering that not everyone was left handed like himself.
"Then, you simply command... Up!" Jake explained, his Firebolt zooming up in to his palm from the practice he'd had with it. "Don't worry if the broom doesn't do it first time, it's all about familiarisation." Jake added, because he didn't want the witch to feel bad if it didn't work first time. ________________________________________________~ Auror ~ Profile ~ DADA Professor ~ ~ In a Relationship ~ 36 ~ Father ~ 6' ~ American Accent ~
