Astronomy: Lesson One - What is Astronomy (All Years) Empty
PostSubject: Astronomy: Lesson One - What is Astronomy (All Years)   Astronomy: Lesson One - What is Astronomy (All Years) EmptyWed Apr 27, 2016 11:12 am

It was his first day at Hogwarts after so many years and Eros could tell he felt lost. It was obvious by the way he was moving and talking. He was nervous, to say the least, and that was the cause of his anger. Eros knew how to hold himself together, and he never allowed such pathetic feelings to affect him, but this time, he couldn't control it. And that was bad.

He was nervous indeed, but at the same time quite excited as well. For one, he was going to be working as an Astronomy Professor, something he had wished for for all of his life. Secondly, he had his best buddy around, which meant that fun was always going to be available. And let's not mention the Staff. He was positive, even if he still hadn't met them all, that there sure would be some hot signora he could use for his needs.

But today none of these were on his list. Today it was all about teaching and getting to know his students. Unlike James, Eros actually liked the students and not just the subject he was teaching. That was why he had decided that he was going to bring all the years in one class, in order to go over the basics first, and he would later, possibly, separate them.

Walking into his classroom, Eros smiled at himself as he accommodated to his new desk and the amazing view. Oh Merlin, the view was exactly why he had chosen Hogwarts as the school to provide his knowledge. It was the best place to work at, and now Eros was about to do just that.

Taking out his wand, he waved it into the air and watched as the words slowly appeared on the black board.

"Astronomy 101: The Basics"

He then sat down in his chair and waited for his students to arrive. He knew it wasn't the most famous of lessons, but he hoped that the children would be intrigued by it, just as much as he was.

PostSubject: Re: Astronomy: Lesson One - What is Astronomy (All Years)   Astronomy: Lesson One - What is Astronomy (All Years) EmptyWed Apr 27, 2016 4:00 pm

Astrology had always interested Alberi. At the beginning it was just something to read about, though it slowly became of great interest to the young boy. As he grew older, he read more and more about the macro-space, his interest never really leaving him and he read about black holes, galaxies, galaxy groups and anything possibly in between. That was, at least, until he became a wizard. After that, though, he became more occupied with learning more about this strange world of magic, as basically every muggleborn in his position would, especially when they are one to try and do their best in absolutely everything that they try to do.

However, as soon as he found out that there will be a lesson in Astronomy, he was sure that he would attend. Though, truthfully, he wasn't really sure if Astronomy was the same as Astrology, he considered that they still must be close enough. At least, he'll get the chance to look at the sky with a telescope, hopefully, and it will be better from the one he had at home - and not only because of the magic that surely must have been used to help have a clearer view of the object.

However, as he walked towards class, he cleared all his thoughts about telescopes and the such. He could think about that when he went through the first lesson. Now, he was trying to go through everything he had learnt from the time he had been interested in Astronomy. He surely must have forgotten something... What if the professor asks for something he had known and he simply forgot it now? It would surely be embarrassing, at least in Alberi's mind...

Speaking of the professor, he wondered who it would be and if they were decent. Hogwarts seemed to have half a personnel that knew what they were doing, while the other half tried to teach them something. The boy really hoped for a good teacher, someone who was worth the subject. It would have been a disappointment if it was someone who hardly could do anything. As he walked into the classroom, he examined the teacher. He seemed alright, though he can't tell until class starts.

"Good day, professor." Alberi said simply before positioning himself to wait for the rest of the class that he guessed would be coming soon.

Astronomy was something the Mac wasn't sure about. Wasn't Astronomy studying the night sky? How interesting could that be? The girl shrugged and worked her way to the Astronomy Tower, stopping at the bottom. The amount of stairs leading to the room was ridiculous, the amount of stairs in this school period was ridiculous and surely, Mac would be athletic by the time she graduated. Why did Hogwarts have to be so huge? Beauxbaxton's wasn't this huge, or at least her mother didn't make it seem like it. The girl sighed and shifted her bag on her shoulder. If she didn't get started climbing now, she'd certainly be late.

After what felt like an eternity, the girl reached the classroom and through short puffs of air, she greeted the professor before finding a nearby seat because the girl needed rest. She may have been slim and slender but that didn't mean she was in shape because she was far from athletic. There was only another student there, one she'd recognized from another class and so her eyes shifted forward to the board. She noted they'd simply be studying the basics today and internally, she sighed. She walked all that way for the basics of studying the stars.

Brooklyn didn't know why she was taking Astronomy but she was and now she was here. The young girl didn't really like school but in order to get a good job and get the hell away from her mother, she would put herself through hell to just prove a point that she could succeed in life without anyone. Yes she could definitely survive alone, but in order for that she needed to prove this to her mother, but she certainly wanted to prove it to her father that abandoned her. She didn't need anyone to help her with school nor life and she certainly didn't need anyone.

Which is what she was doing her, she was proving her point and she would definitely come out the winner no matter what happened. She would fight through hell and even fight fire with fire and she would succeed and show her mother and grandparents that she had what it took. This was her making a statement.

Severine had heard all kinds of things about the new Astronomy professor and to be perfectly honest, when his class showed up on her timetable, she was a bit disappointed. Mostly because she didn't believe there was any magical teachings in Astronomy. How could there be? It was looking at planets and space, that wasn't magic, a muggle could do it. If Muggles could be Astronomers than it should definitely not be something taught in Hogwarts. She'd be sure to write a letter to her parents afterwards and see what they could do about it.

Severine had left early for her class like usual, however by the time she'd gotten there, it was nearly class time though she didn't particularly care. "Greetings Monsieur Vitali," she said allowing her French accent to fall into her speech but not bothering to offer him a curtsy. Instead, she immediately took a seat, away from all the eager looking students and scrutinized him. He certainly wasn't all that good looking and from what Severine could tell, he'd likely be one of those professors that left after a year of teaching. Looking to the board, she saw that they were to go over the basics today and that brought about an eye roll.

Arden loved school, especially Astronomy. It was one of his favorites so of course he would attend the class. He wondered if Audrina was in the class but knowing her, she'd shy away and he would have to go over to her and stand by her or sit by her. Arden entered the classroom and saw there was a pretty nice turn out going on and he took a seat. He was hoping his sister would get there soon so she could take the seat next to him. Not like he minded or anything if someone else sat there but it was a twin thing.

The Ravenclaw looked at the surroundings he was currently looking at and had to admit the classroom looked really nice and the students had the look of wonder on what they would be learning that day. Arden looked at the door before he faced the front and twiddled his fingers waiting.

The girl was a fan of the class, she loved what Astronomy had to offer and she wasn't afraid to say it out loud either. Being a school nerd when it came to certain subjects had its privilege but if she had to choose she would choose Herbology and Astronomy as her favorite subjects with no shame what's so ever. It was a fun fact about her and she was never ashamed of who she was or what she was. She learned that when she discovered both boys and guys and didn't care who judged her.... not even her own parents.

She walked into the classroom and instantly saw her brother twiddling his fingers. She couldn't help but let a smile come onto her face. She walked over to him and sat right next to him and made sure he stopped twiddling his fingers. She hated when he did that.

It was time for the most useless class in Hogwarts again, but Gabrielle needed to attend anyway. After winning Ravenclaw Student of the Year award in the previous year, she had to work hard to keep her streak, and working hard included accepting the fact that to some people, stars and galaxies and that sort of thing were actually interesting. Holding back an eyeroll, Gabrielle entered the classroom and headed for an empty seat.

The professor was new, which had surprised Gabrielle when she first came back to Hogwarts. The old professor was alright, but she liked the look of this new one—he seemed like the sort of person who can command a room with just one word, and it reminded her of Professor Balan, who everyone either feared or hated. 'Hello, Professor Vitali,' she nodded at him politely as she took her seat.

Her eyes flicked to the blackboard and saw the words 'Astronomy Basics', which made her groan internally. She was tired of having to hear about the sun, the stars, dwarf moons, Jupiter's rings or whatever it was they had to learn in this class. At least, when they were stargazing, she could pretend she was amazed by random white dots in the sky. Still, she stayed put and pretended to be interested, hoping that her classmates' reactions to the professor would at least be fun to watch.

Being able to attend Astronomy was a good thing. She had always wondered what it was about Astronomy that spoke to her. She loved being able to walk around and know a little thing or two about Astronomy but this was different. She had heard a little bit about this Professor and knew that he wasn't one to be messed with when it came to stuff like classes and people ditching and that stuff. Or so she thought. If she were a Professor she would be that way. The Hufflepuff arrived to the class and looked around.

There were students older and younger then her in the class and she didn't mind that one bit. It should that the others were there to learn just like her. She took a seat and waited for the class to begin. She proceeded to take out her book and her wand just in case she needed it for later.

Lux climbed the steps to the seventh floor steadily, cursing every living thing - and dead thing - that the astronomy class had the nerve to torture student's legs. Why in Merlin's name did they have to put it up so high? Oh right, so they could gaze at the stars like lovers straight out of a cheesy romance novel. As if she didn't already know what the constellations were and the names of all the important planets and starts in the universe they lived in.

Grumbling under her breath, she pushed the door open and entered the classroom. Already in a foul mood, she didn't bother greeting the professor and instead slid her glance over to the board. She read the words there and rolled her eyes. Basics? Seriously? Merlin's hairy ass! She was a sixth year! No way would she waste her time sitting through a basics class. Not even for a handsome professor.

Not waiting a second longer, she turned on her heel and stalked out of the room.
