Martin grew up as an only child, born to a witch and wizard but neither were purebloods so he qualifies as a halfblood. Went to muggle school before Hogwarts and still studies some of those subjects over the summers, because he simply loves learning. Also grew up writing stories and reading all kinds of fictional books too, both muggle and magical. Took up the acoustic guitar at age nine and is quite good now, has a lovely tenor voice. Also loves fashion, and always makes sure to be matching and looking good in what he wears.

When he got to Hogwarts he fit in among the Ravenclaws, which was a surprise to nobody. He even found a home on their Quidditch team in his third year playing Chaser, and is quite good though he thinks he can do better. Has a few friends, but nobody he's exceptionally close to. Enjoys his own company just as much if not more than spending time with people. He's almost always kind and friendly, but can get a bit snappy at times if he's working on homework or in the middle of a side project.

Parents started dating after Hogwarts when they bumped into each other at St. Mungo's when Cynthia was visiting an injured friend. They clicked and ended up dating for a few years before getting married and starting a family. Had Martin while still young and planned on having more, but there were complications with the delivery that made things so Cynthia would never be able to carry safely again. The two considered adopting, but decided Martin was enough, and he grew up in a happy home, though sometimes a bit lonely.
