The Secrets of the Night [Delia] Empty
PostSubject: The Secrets of the Night [Delia]   The Secrets of the Night [Delia] EmptyWed Feb 07, 2018 12:32 pm

Yet another cold night at Hogwarts, and Nerisei was bored out of her mind. To be honest, her tactic to finish all of her  homework immediately was not the best one, because now, she literally had nothing to busy herself with. Read books? Sure. But for how long can she read in a day? Plus, there was this other thing tormenting her mind, called Dimitri. Yes, the Pureblood boy that she had almost forgotten. Almost. But how could she really?

She had noticed him even before their sudden meeting in the Music Room. She still remembered that day like it was yesterday. How she had gone to practice her violin, and suddenly, a piano started to accompany her. She was shocked to say the least, and her shock became greater when she saw it was Dimitri the one playing. He was just so... handsome. It made Nerisei freeze in her spot. The few words they exchanged had Neri thinking whether it could ever be possible for a girl like her to be with a guy like him. But the odds were, of course, not in her favour.

So she tried to move on, knowing that this would probably be a dream to never come true. And to add to that sadness, the loss of her friends made her lose any faith she had. It was just her. Alone. In this stupid, unfair world.

Gathering her  things, Nerisei made sure to be well dressed, before slipping out of the busy Common Room and descending the stairs. Christmas Holidays were over, so in order to find some peace and quite, you had to go to the least convenient places. Like the Black Lake for example.
Sneaking out of the classroom was something Neri had become good at in the past couple of months, so it wasn't that hard anymore.

Once she made sure no one was around, she discreetly ran to the Black Lake, happy to be able to spend some time in peace. "Life is so f-king unfair. And boring." Neri moaned as she plopped herself down by the frozen lake. At least it was better than being in the Common Room.

The Secrets of the Night [Delia] Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Secrets of the Night [Delia]   The Secrets of the Night [Delia] EmptyWed Feb 07, 2018 11:58 pm

The night had always been Delia's friend; she had always claimed to have been born of it. In many ways, that was true, and Delia found refuge and safety in the night, where nobody could see her and she was free to be herself. And yet, lately, she'd been hating the night, hating the things associated with it -- herself included.

She refused to allow herself to think back to what she had overheard all those nights ago, on Christmas Eve itself. During the day, this was easy; she had a number of things to keep her occupied, from homework to chilling with Tess to riding her horse either alone or with Rei. There were places to go, things to do, and people to meet, and those things took her mind off the three words that still, somehow, haunted her.

But at night? At night there was nothing but silence that she was now beginning to despise. Before it was fine; she and silence were old friends and she loved him. There was a sense of comfort between them that, now, was nothing but animosity, a tenseness during which she heard the words echoing over and over -- never wanted her. She did not cry when she first heard them, nor did she cry now. Part of her refused to believe it, although she knew it was foolish to do so. It had happened; she had heard it; it was true.

Sneaking out of the Gryffindor Tower was easy enough, and as she stood in the empty corridor, her feet began to take her automatically to the Astronomy tower. She paused, though, halfway there. The last time she'd been up there she had woken up on the ledge, her body half hanging over, and barely had time to get back to the common room before anyone found her. It wasn't the first time she'd blacked out like that, and it wouldn't be her last, but it was still not something she liked. If she were to do it, if she were to find freedom, she wanted to do it fully knowing.

With a soft sigh, she turned, making her way out of the castle and into the grounds using passageways who's existence and location and been bought off some older years. Money, Delia had learnt fairly quickly in life, got you almost anything and everywhere. Her tiny purse on her arm dangled as she stepped out into the open air, taking in a breath of cold air. It stung her senses, and she wasn't exactly dressed for the cold with only a simple jacket over her otherwise skimpy nightdress, but she didn't care. The bottles in her purse would take care of that.

Moving towards the Lake, she reached into her bag, arm going in much further than would be expected of a purse that size, and withdrew a bottle of red wine, her poison of choice for that evening. She wanted to feel herself getting drunk, this time, instead of the near-instant hit that came with only ten minutes of vodka shots. By the time she'd reached the lake, though, her slow walk to take in the night taking nearly twenty minutes, she'd downed half the bottle. There were another two in her bag, and something stronger should all three fail to be satisfactory.

And then, as she approached, her footsteps loud and echoing in the silence of the night, she heard the voice and paused for a moment. It was a female voice, and not one she recognised. Still, she shrugged to herself. "Of f***ing course it's unfair," she said, moving into view, not caring if she startled the witch. "But boring?" she let out a laugh. "F**k that. It's only boring if you let it be." She paused, glancing at the female sitting down, and then did the same, plonking herself down a few feet away. Then, with a half-smile, she held the bottle out towards her. "Want some?"

When Nerisei decided to go outside, she didn't expect to be followed in any way. After all, the reason she had gone out was to get away from them. She had no friends to care for her anymore, so when she heard the female voice replying to her in such way, Neri was positive that it was not a Ravenclaw. As the girl plopped herself down next to her, Nerisei gave her a weird look, not sure whether she feeling good about it or not.

To be fair, she had never actually seen the girl before, but by the way she was holding herself, she was not the girl to mess around with. She was very beautiful(and tipsy), and she was offering... A drink? Nerisei stared at the bottle, feeling a tad bit afraid to drink. Her meetings with alcohol were few and her tolerance nonexistent. But it seemed like after everything that happened to her, maybe alcohol was the help, the answer to her problems.

"Give me that," Nerisei groaned, grabbing the bottle and downing it immediately. The taste of the wine hit her hard and she ripped the bottle away from her lips, coughing as she choked on the liquid. "Neri." was the only thing she said before laying back on the grass. She was not going to ask what brought her out here or what made her drink. One thing she learned is that everyone had their reasons.
