| Being different sucked. She was not only attracted to boys but to girls as well. She refused to tell her parents but her twin brother Arden knew all about it. Being in the closet when it came to her parents was terrible, she wished she had half the courage to be able to speak her mind and tell people how she was feeling but she wasn't like her brother, she wasn't brave and confident. She was quite the opposite actually. Arden was more of a person then she was and people knew that when they got to know both of them.
Audrina sat in the common room drawing in her sketch pad, she wasn't good but she wasn't terrible either. Sometimes people who praise her for being talented but sometimes she didn't believe them, she always thought that they were just being nice to her and she really didn't like the lies. |

| Joshua did not spend much time in the Hufflepuff common room. He often resented the fact that he had been sorted into the house of loyalty and friendship. He did not want to be known for being loyal. He wanted to be known for doing what he loved, though he was not quite sure what that was. On one rare occasion in which he decided to make his way through the common room, he noticed a girl about his age drawing.
Artists had always been interesting to Joshua. He would have loved to spend his younger years clutching a pencil or lost in a song, but that hadn't been an option for him.
"Nobody respects artists," his mother had said on many occasions. "If you want to be taken seriously, you have to be an athlete." So the boy had thrown himself into sports. He worked on getting stronger and getting faster, but he couldn't help but enjoy listening to showtunes. It was a guilty pleasure from a path that should've been.
All of the sports did not even matter now, seeing as being a wizard was enough to bring shame upon his entire family.
Joshua approached the artist with a small smile. "What are you drawing?" he asked. |

| When she was in the middle of drawing when she heard a voice. She looked up to see another Hufflepuff standing there. She gave a small smile to the boy and turned her sketch pad around so that he could see what she was drawing. "I know its probably not any good but I tried" Audrina shrugged, she didn't mind if anyone said she did a terrible job, she was used to it by other people. She tried her best but sometimes it just wasn't enough. "So what brings you to the common room? I know you're a Hufflepuff and all but I would have thought you'd be out since it is the weekend and no body is usually here on the weekends" well that was a lie. Audrina was always here on the weekends because she didn't really like going out to socialize unless her big brother wanted her to. |

| Joshua examined the drawing closely. He studied where the graphite had been dragged along the page in purposeful shapes and motions, sometimes ending up darker than other portions of the drawing. "It's really nice," he assured her. "Do you like hummingbirds? I myself have never seen one in person, but I think that they are very interesting animals. Their speed is incredibly impressive."
When the girl asked what he was doing in the common room on a weekend, he tried to hide the fact that he had hardly any friends with a bit of laughter. "I have nothing better to do with my time," he chuckled. "How about you? Surely I'm the only one with no life." He then extended a hand to the girl, as this was the polite way to introduce yourself to someone.
"The name's Joshua Abbott," he told her. "But most people just call me...Joshua Abbott." |
