Theater, Alexio has always had a soft spot for the art form. Introduced to it at a young age by his father, the man has never looked back as he enjoys both participating in theater productions both as an actor and an audience member.

Alcohol, though not in the way one might imagine. Rather than spend his nights drinking himself into a stupor, he prides himself on having a more refined taste. Wine, in particular, is something he has a weakness for due growing up in a vineyard.

Physical exertion has always been an outlet the stresses of life for Alexio. Running, swimming, and the odd foray into boxing leave the man in incredible shape both physically and mentally.

Politics, Alexio takes to the office politics of the Greek ministry like a fish to water. He revels in playing 'the game' to advance his career.

Elemental magic, fire, earth, wind, and water all bend to Alexio's will with ease as a result of his early schooling. He especially favors fire-based magic and has begun to dabble in harnessing the power of the gods, lightning.

Diplomacy and deception, for Alexio the two strengths go hand in hand as one supports the other. Indeed, had he attended Hogwarts he would have surely been a Slytherin.

Methodical, situations are not meant to be jumped into blindly. Rather, the man does his research and attacks each problem he encounters one step at a time.

Apparition-based combat, if apparition is like driving a car, then Alexio is like a professional driver as a result of his time dueling in the States. Born and raised on a vineyard just outside of Sparta, Greece, Alexio Kanelli lived a charmed upbringing. Both parents loved him dearly and did the best they could by him. However, around his fifth birthday, they began to notice strange happenings centered around their son. Objects would move towards him inexplicitly, rain curved around him at times as if to avoid his body, and when helping in the vineyard the plants he cared for always seemed to grow just a bit better than all the rest. It took the guidance of an elderly neighbor to reveal that Alexio had magical potential.
Despite his potential, and not entirely understanding the ramifications of it, both his parents raised him like any other child. He attended this school, made friends, and had fun—normal kid things. Or rather, he did until he received an invitation at the age of fourteen to enroll in an Athens-based magic school of a less-than-formal nature organized—though sanctioned by the Greek ministry—and run by the same witch who initially discovered his magical talent. Having made a few well-timed financial decisions in the early 2000s, the Kanelli's allowed their son to attend the aforementioned school wherein the curriculum focused on a less practiced magic, elemental manipulation.
Upon turning eighteen, Maria and Alastair sent their son off to a muggle institution in the United States where he majored in theater. During his time in the US, he also spent time honing his magical abilities living a double life; one as a muggle where he studied theater and one as a wizard where he was in and out of dueling arenas. After graduating from college and after perfecting his apparition ability in countless duels, he returned to Greece where he—along with every other eligible male in the country—fulfilled his military commitments as an officer. In fact, he ended up staying in for five years before being recruited out of the muggle military and into the Greek ministry of magic.
In the ministry, he quickly distinguished himself as a first-class auror and an asset to the country at large. He now looks forward to a time when his home country does not bend the knee to a foreign, and distinctly French, force. Time will tell how he goes about addressing such a goal...

The Kanelli had never been particularly well off. The vineyard on which they lived had been passed down through the generation until it came to Alastair and his new wife Maria. That said, as all of Greece seemed to be collapsing in early-2000's financial crisis, Alastair made a few shrewd investments that made the family richer than it had ever been before. Thanks to this windfall the three members of the family are able to live comfortably for the remainder of their days if they so chose.
Perhaps the most interesting family dynamic in the Kanelli's household is Alexio's magical abilities. Though accepting of it, both Alexio's mother and father are reticent to applaud their son's magical nature. As a result, Alexio shies away from using magic in their presence. Indeed, this cloaked fear of magic his muggle parents exhibit has left the man to wonder if magic really ought to be revealed to the world at large.
