The Grounds

The grounds have been transformed in to a pumpkin field, with different faces carved in to the pumpkins. It's well lit for the students to enjoy some time away from the main party, but still feel like they're involved.

The pumpkins lead the way down to the lake, for those wishing to move further afield. There, the lake has been charmed to look like a large cauldron, with mist touching out on to the shores, and the lights slowly changing beneath.

A protective charm has been placed on the lake so no-one can fall in, of course.

Small trays of food and drinks float around the area for those guests outside, making sure the party will come to them, if they don't wish to be in the main party themselves.

Layla had been excited about the Masquerade Ball, but not because of getting to mingle and eat. She was excited to have an excuse to dress really pretty and sing and play guitar. She pulled her hair into a side ponytail and curled it before applying mascara, eyeliner and lipstick. She shrugged into her dress and put on her mask, tying it securely around her head. She wore silver heels and slipped them on as she grabbed her guitar and made her way out to the grounds.

Her dress had a high low design, which suited her perfectly. It was strapless and the top had been bedazzled with silver and gold jewels. The bottom was layered out and it was a periwinkle tone, which brought out the blue in her eyes. Her mask was a beautiful silver colour that had a flower on the right side of her face. It was a fairly simple half mask with a satin silver ribbon that tied.

As she walked out the doors of the castle, the sight of the grounds took her by surprise, causing her to smile. It looked magnificent, and whoever had decorated it did an exceptional job. She walked over to a rock near the lake and sat at the edge of the mist, her guitar resting on her knee. Noticing no one was outside, she began to play and as she played, she sung.

The ball has now finished!

Thank you to everyone who participated! Hopefully you have enjoyed the event! We will look to put more on in the future, so any suggestions will always be welcome!

School will now resume as normal! So, hurry along to classes, and get earning points for your respected houses!

Best Couple: Unfortunately it seemed the couples were hiding during the event - but perhaps there were some lurking in the corners?

The winners have been awarded with a hamper from Honeydukes for their efforts (please don't eat all the sweets at once!), as well as earning ten points each for their respected houses!
