Elleon kept his eyes on Jake as he spoke about the Nightshades. They had been all over the news and to his understanding - though he didn't really follow up on politics - they were a movement fighting for the equality of blood status. It was a noble cause and Elleon himself didn't believe in the superiority of Purebloods above all other non-Purebloods, but they had gone about it all wrong.

He knew about the Patronus Charm. Indeed, it was a very famous topic and one that Elleon had read about extensively. He'd been fascinated by the whole concept of the Patronus Charm and had always wondered what animal his would be - if he ever managed to produce one - but had never actually tried it out for himself.

He glanced around at the class, looking to see if anyone was going to answer the question. After scanning the group a few times, he saw Roxanne's lips moving. From the angle he was at, he couldn't catch all of her words but made out enough to know that she'd described what a Patronus was for.

Quickly, he took out his sketchbook and pen. First he drew the wand movement, a circular motion. Underneath what he'd drawn he wrote: Wand movement. Next he answered the question of the colour: The Patronus Charm produces a silver light. He'd leave the incantation to someone else who could undoubtedly pronounce it better than he could.

As the answers came from Roxy and Elleon -- the latter requiring Jake to move a little bit closer to the boy to be able to see and read his answer clearly, Jake nodded happily at them both. They'd both gotten their points completely right.

"Elleon has denoted that the wand movement is a circular motion, and that the light from the wand will emit a silver light when cast properly. The light will merge in to what Roxy spoke of, your Spirit Guardian." Jake explained, looking at Elleon whilst he spoke, before looking around the room to ensure that the rest of the students understood what had been said.

"So," Jake continued, making sure Elleon could see his lips again. "To cast the spell, you need to concentrate on a good, happy memory. It doesn't have to be the most beautiful or complex of memories, it simply has to make you feel happy enough to create the charm. Like so..." Jake finalised.

Moving to the centre of the room, Jake removed his wand from his pocket and flourished it in the circular motion mentioned by Elleon, before speaking the incantation quite clearly. His mind on the news of his first child coming in to the world, the powerful memory that came with the announcement of becoming a father was a very good basis for happiness. Without any hesitation, the silver light came from the tip of Jake's wand, forming quite clearly in to a Labrador Retreiver that bounded around the classroom for the students to see, before coming back to Jake and sitting at his feet.

A few moments, and Jake made the image disappear, before looking around the classroom.

"If there are no questions... please begin." Jake told them, motioning for them to get going.

Lost on the first day. Tess flushed in embarrassment at her predicament. She was better than this, but time betrayed her early in the morning.  Her first mistake was not being quick enough in the stairway. She had no clue it moved so quickly and after shuffling from one to another she just got too dizzy to understand. Thankfully the nurse was kind enough to lead her to her first lesson. Before she pushed the door open, she shifted her clothes to look impeccable, fixed her hair and forced herself to be brave.

'You can do this Tess, you're brother did it, and so can you' she thought.

But as she pushed the door open she heard the professor finishing up a sentence.

"...It doesn't have to be the most beautiful or complex of memories, it simply has to make you feel happy enough to create the charm. Like so..."

As the light began to shine through the room, her grace and calmness slipped so she could express her awe at the beautiful labrador running through the air. She let out a gasp of glee, as she realized that this would be her favorite class if it meant she could one day create a representation of joy from her wand.

It was the moment that her fingers began to slip on her things that she realized where she stood. The lesson had already began and she was later than expected.

"Do forgive me sir, I did not mean to arrive late" she whispered softly before shuffling to the closest seat that was empty.

She ignored her flushed expression for all she wanted now was to learn, make a name for herself and be happy. And as this class was all about happiness she ran images through her mind thinking of the happiest moments. The first thing that she could think of was her grand-mere. The woman was a saint in her eyes, despite her thorns and all. She remembered her telling her about the flowers and their importance. Taking out her wand, she concentrated on projecting her joy as best she could. Slowly her mind grew with more joyous moments all involving her grand-mere, and her wand glowed. The light was shining dimly, but it went out the moment she realized just how far her grand-mere was. The sadness in her eyes were clear, and she found herself lowering her wand and hoping the others would just overshadow her.

Allowing the students their own space to give the spell a go, Jake watched them discretely have their own try at the spell. His eyes moved to the new witch in the room, a transfer from Beauxbatons who were known for their poise and grace. Jake hadn't met anyone from the school, from memory, but the witch was no different, in truth to the other students.

As the lesson continued on, Jake was yet to see someone display the feat of magic, and couldn't deny that he was... a little bit disappointed. It didn't show in his features, though, the students would never, ever know he was disappointed in them.

"Okay everyone, that will do for today. Homework is to practice the spell in your own time -- I saw a few of you managing a little wisp of light here and there, which means you're on the right lines. As always, if you would like to talk to me about today's subject, or anything else, please wait behind and we can discuss anything you might be worried about. I'll see you all next week!" Jake finished, waving them out of the room.

Class Closed.
