No comment was passed on Jacques' use of the room, though he did not, for a second, trust that Scott would keep it to himself. It would, however, be the other male's mistake, if he spoke to others. The girls, well, Jacques could warm them to the idea until they found it endearing, and the boys, well, Jacques had the gift of charm to work away any issues that might arise. Being self-conscious about his likes was not something the young man was going to succumb to any time soon.
The question of what he was trying brought a short laugh from Jacques' lips, before he shook his head. "No, I'm not trying to create an army of the dead, don't worry." He replied to the ridiculous question of making zombies -- it seemed the boy was fond of those Muggle movies in which zombies were becoming much too much of a prominent figure of late. And, well, Inferi, or anything resembling a zombie from their world, was not something Jacques was planning on using.
"I'm researching the known Dark Magic of our world to get a deeper understanding. From there, I'll work on the cost of the Dark Arts to the caster of the spells, rituals and potion making. The long terms effects of the exposure to Dark Magic, and, perhaps after that I will begin to question the categorisation of Dark Magic. I, personally, don't believe there is a need for the classification of single spell, I believe the intent, and use, is the defining characteristic of each spell.
"Though, of course, my opinion would be in the minority, because many people prefer the world to be Black and White, when really, everything can be grey." The boy explained, clearly not a beginner in this field, but not wishing to swamp the boy. "Also, I'm trying to plan a trip that will allow me to explore a number of different cultures, and their magical abilities, so that I might be able to learn both new forms of magic, and use their influences on the world to help me with my categorisation of these spells."
Though, as of yet, Jacques had not discussed such a trip with his parents, he doubted either of them would object to him wishing to deepen his knowledge on a subject that meant so much to him.
"And, which major are you taking?" Jacques asked, seeing if he could get something from the man before him. Whether he would talk so passionately on his own subject, Jacques could not be sure, but they would see.
