Even though Maya already had a cat, specifically a black tabby that she had gotten for her first year at Hogwarts, the young witch was determined to find herself an owl, or some type of avian animal that she could send letters with to her brother during Hogwarts as the school owls were a bit temperamental when it came to sending them off with letters.
Stepping inside the shop, the young witch instantly made a beeline for the Avian section of the shop, bypassing a handful of young children peering at the small animals in the centre of the shop. She had seen the notice on the window that the Menagerie was having an adoption day for the countless kittens that had been born not that long ago. The enticement of having a kitten over a cat certainly made parents want to bring their children in.
She knew that there were many species of owls but she hadn't known that there were this many. Humming to herself, Maya slowly checked each and every single owl, wondering which one she should buy. Should she go for an Eagle owl? Or maybe for that gorgeous Pygmy owl in the corner? Unsure, Maya just stood contemplating, her lips pulled down into a frown and her brows furrowed. Which one to pick?
