Tu kisi aur ki ho na jana... Kuch bhi kar jaaonga main deewana (One Shot)

Weeks had passed since the Ball in the blink of an eye. His Azalea was safely tucked away at the Manor, kept busy by the entourage of wedding planners, dress designers, cake makers, internationally acclaimed chefs vying to be the one to make the wedding breakfast for the Murray wedding. There were the florists, there were the table designers, there were the invitation makers, the details went on endlessly, keeping the witch as busy at the Manor as possible.

Josh had given the reigns to the witch for the day -- the designers knew what would be expected of them, they knew the weight of the task they had been given would either make or break their future career trajectory depending on how well they performed with this task.

Which left Josh with all the time in the world.

Before the wedding planner had been brought in to the Manor, Josh had sent word to his private investigation team. Their goal? To find everything that they could on one Jake Newbury.

Twenty four hours in and the easiest information had been found on the man. The small house he owned in Surrey was but a stone's throw from Azalea's father's home. The man had two children who lived with him, Ivan and Adrienne Newbury. They both schooled locally. The children were from a past marriage to a witch called Veronika Hollands -- it was noted she was from the Hollands family that befall the unfortunate ending of pleasures of the flesh of the same sex.

The next day had turned up Jake's file within the Ministry. Those he'd put in Azkaban, the missions he'd been on, and the thoughts and feed back from his superiors. There was nothing noteable in these documents that had been turned out. Jake Newbury was a mediocre Auror to say the least. Together with that file came the history of his teaching at Hogwarts. None of the information was of particular interest at all, but it was creating the picture of the man, and the explanation of how his Azalea had found herself lured by the man in question.

Next came the knowledge of the man's family. Jake's mother and father had recently returned to the USA with the recall from the American government. The question of why Jake had stayed remained unanswered by the investigators, but Josh already had the answer. The USA was also home to the man's sister. One Victoria Newbury. The name had not been what caught the blond's attention, but the picture that adorned her file. The lawyer staring back at him was the one who had tried to stop him from obtaining the papers that kept Azalea's decisions for himself. Tried, but failed. This witch had moved back to the USA shortly after their meeting, and apparently now was the legal aide to a Milwaukee senator. The name Jackson Blake was not one that Joshua knew, but the file joined the rest of the information that had accumulated around Jake's name.

No news came the next day, leaving Josh to peruse the files at a more leisurely pace. The instructions to keep Azalea away from his study had been kept in the last few days, too.

It took a few more days for the next files to arrive.

Files which did not calm the man's resolve.

The boxes of files that recounted a previous relationship between Jake Newbury and his Azalea had left the man sick to the stomach. Personal accounts of their relationship from friends had been weened from them. Accounts of deeply rooted affection, sexual promiscuity, and then settling in to a very serious relationship in Canada had been shown in the records. Joint bank accounts, joint names on the purchase of a property, utility bills. All pointed to something Joshua Murray had never known of until this moment. The edge of the lease had crumbled in between the man's fingers as his eyes remained on the words "Mr Jake Newbury & Miss Azalea Harrington" sat at the top of the freehold of the flat in Moose Jaw.

It all tied up.

Everything he knew.

Because the witch had gone missing from Jake's life at exactly the same point she'd left his. The anger boiled in the man's blood as he read through each and every detail that had been brought to him. It had been Jake Newbury's fault that his Azalea had ended up in harms way. There was no other explanation for it, and the man would pay. For that, and for trying to lure his Azalea away now when she was happy here, at Murray Manor, with him and their son.

It had not been the end of the news, though.

The last news had come like a whirlwind.

The investigator had laid the file down on the desk before him, and retreated from the room before Josh's hands could open the brown folder. When he had, a picture stared back at him of a girl in her teens. A smiling child, who was clearly posing for the photo that had been taken of her. To Josh, though, there was nothing remarkable about this child as he turned over the page.

Mimosa Azalea Harrington
Also known as Mimosa Harrington-Clement.

Mimosa Harrington was born on 13 August 2013. Originally denoted as the child of Azalea Vanessa Harrington and no mention of the father. She was taken in by her grandfather, Kenneth Harrington when found in December 2014. The child was frail due to her time kept captive by Harold Swanson.

The child was born early, and had many formative complications...

Josh skipped over the extensive medical information that was denoted by his team. He would come back to that bit later.

In 2018, the child was formally given the title of Ward to the Clement family. This role has been seen to be much like a third child of the family, and continues to the current day. Mimosa has more recently taken over roles previously taken by the Lady Elenore Clement due to her prolonged stay in America for her studies.

More information of Mimosa's comings and goings with the family ensued after this. Her current location at Hogwarts, and her closeness with the Clement heir had been noted upon.

In twenty twenty four, an amendment was made to the child's birth certificate -- not in public records, but within the Clement registers of their lineage. Jake Newbury has been noted as the father of the child in their records.

He'd known the last sentence was coming.

It had been obvious when the file had been laid in to place.

Turning the file back to the front, to the picture of the child, it was clear that she was the man's child. The eyes were so similar to Jake's that there was no mistaking it.

His Azalea had had a child with another man.

Jake Newbury had impregnated his Azalea.

Jake Newbury was trying to take his Azalea away from him.

It left Josh with very little options as he looked down at the child's photo. There was only one way in which he was going to be able to save his Azalea from the clutches of this man.

Every tie that bound the two had to be removed.

There was no other way.
