Care of Magical Creatures: Lesson Three - Crups

With the last lesson here, Daniel had opted for something a little more relaxing than that of the Salamanders he'd brought last time. Fire, whilst nice in the cold air of winter, was dangerous, and Daniel knew exams were near. So he had opted for something more relaxing, and a lot less dangerous.

Crups.

Currently, Daniel was sat in a small pen, being cuddled by five small animals that looked like puppies. The only real distinction between these small creatures and normal puppies were the fact their tails were forked rather than singular. They were cute enough, Daniel knew could make that much from what he'd seen so far.

Except that, at this young age, they were in their chewing stage. Which was precisely what one of the small animals was doing to the bottom of his trousers, gnawing and pulling at the material in a playful manner.

Hopefully, the students would enjoy a relax with the creatures, though Daniel couldn't be sure.

Stephen was glad to be early for Care of Magical Creatures. Though the animals Professor Jameson brought never failed to make Stephen happy, he was glad to see that this time they would be taking care of crups. Since he was never allowed to keep pets back in South Korea, Stephen often made do with the creatures witches and wizards brought and walked around wizarding Seoul. Now that they would be learning about magical puppies for today's class, Stephen couldn't control his excitement. With a grin, he walked towards Professor Jameson.

'Oh, baby crups! May I pet them?' As much as he just wanted to kneel down and hug the cute little things, he wasn't sure how to handle baby crups. The crups he had encountered in Korea were older and trained to behave properly, thus making it easier for Stephen to just walk up to them and pet them as the owners watched with a smile.

Today on the least surprising thing happening at Care of Magical Creatures: a Hufflepuff had fallen head over heels for the puppies. Or were they actually puppies? Gabrielle wasn't sure, since the creatures had a forked tail, which just didn't go with their cutesy faces. Then again, maybe the forked tail was actually a sign that the puppy-things were quite harmless. One thing Gabrielle had learned from this class was that the more innocent something looked, the deadlier it probably was.

She rolled her eyes and took a step closer towards the professor, though she kept a wary distance. At the very least, they seemed to be friendly towards the professor. Then again, all these creatures were so bloody friendly towards him, and she was starting to wonder if the professor was actually a Pokémon trainer who planeswalked his way into this dimension. Frustrated with herself for forgetting to do advanced reading, she smiled at the professor and greeted him. 'Good morning, Professor.'

Leaving it at that, she walked away and pretended to be preoccupied with some book about Merlin. She did not want people to think that she of all people did not know what on earth those devil puppies were.

Christopher - much to his sisters' disgust - loved getting dirty. He was a boy, he was made to get in the mud and have fun, but apparently that was unbecoming of a Pureblood man. Christopher had told them where to put that idea - though, of course, his phrasing of that had been perfect. Unflawed, but not accepted very well.

Which was half the reason he took Care of Magical Creatures because he knew he would get some time away from his siblings because they didn't wish to get themselves dirty. Funny creatures, his sisters.

However, upon arriving at the class for Care of Magical Creatures, Christopher was a little disappointed. Crups? What were they, ten? Puppies were not exciting, even the magical kind, and the pups? Chris screwed his nose up at them, noticing a Hufflepuff simply wanting to jump in there with them.

Typical Hufflepuff, no back bone. Christopher thought to himself as he waited by the edge of the pen for some idea of what they were going to have to do.

Care of Magical Creatures was, by far, one of her favourite subjects - right alongside Charms, and Defense Against the Dark Arts, and Transfiguration. Oh, and of course, Flying. Yea. Anything, really, that involved magic spells. She did not, however, like potions. Nope. That was one subject she could never do well.

But it wasn't time for potions, and so she was happy.

Winter was giving way to Spring, and it was beautiful. Everything was becoming new, and it was hopeful, like the start of a new day. Things that had gone to sleep during winter would be waking up, and she wondered if they felt the same way she did after a long nap - slightly sleepy, but excited for the new day.

Skipping over to the paddock, she couldn't help but let out a squeal of delight when she saw the cute puppies there. "Oh!" she cried, then realised the Professor was there. "Hi, Professor. They're so cute!"

Hearing the Hufflepuff speak, her eyes went wide. "Oh, we can? Can we, Professor? They're so cute." She turned to the boy. "Hi! I'm Kayleigh!"

Elenore was doing well in her studies, as was expected of her. She was matching Jacques scores on tests, but never spoke of the times that she surpassed his results. Elenore knew well enough that her brother did not like to know she was more clever than he was. He had an image to protect.

But Elenore knew, and secretly enjoyed the feeling of outdoing her brother.

Sibling rivalry was natural, of course.

Which was why Elenore was stepping out in to the grounds on the way to Care of Magical Creatures. She loved animals, and despite the fact she was likely to get dirty, Elenore enjoyed the class. She preferred the more ruthless animals, truth be told, which was why she was a little disappointed when she turned up to find out that they would be covering Crups. Her father had a licence for crups, so they were not a new animal to her. Cute, yes, but not interesting in a manner the witch had hoped for.

Staying at the edge of the pen, Elenore didn't ask to join, she knew how soft they would be, and how you had to keep on eye on them so they didn't shred your clothes. This was a waste of time, but she would not allow her name to be tarnished by not turning up to the lesson.

Tristan had made his way to Care for Magical Creatures and wondered what he would be learning since he needed to go to these types of classes. Than soon he looked and he realized that now he would be able to keep his grades up or well get them up.

Since nothing is worse than when a CEO's son does horrible in school and ruins his chances of having the family business. Than soon Tristan looked around and he had went over to the class and he saw they learning about crups.

Then soon Tristan had walked over to see the crups and he looked at the creatures and he smiled and he said to the professor. " This are pretty cool looking Professor. " smiled Tristan with a grin.

Tristan soon looked and he said. " I am Tristan by the way Professor. " smiled Tristan with a grin. Than soon he looked around and wondered what else they would learn.

Ryder had made his way to Care for Magical Creatures with reluctance since he despised his classes even though he had thought that he probably would not have caused anything good if he did not go to his classes only getting himself a detention or whatever. Since he knew if his uncle was here he would be flipping even though his uncle loved him and was his role model.

Since he had pretty much been his father for eleven years and raised him and his sister with his Aunt Jenifer who had both been parents to them and raised them as there own since his sister and himself since they were babies.

His behavior would also probably get him getting flipped out on by his aunt on not focusing on his studies. Than soon he had made it to the class and he watched as the professor had these puppy looking creature, he had always wanted a dog ever since was younger.

Than soon he looked around and listened as it was said they were crups and he saw they looked really cute and he smiled and he wondered what trouble they could cause.

Ryder soon looked around and wondered.

Lux made her way out of the school building and into the outdoors. The only thing she appreciated about this particular class was that it didn't coop her up in a classroom. Still, it didn't make up for the fact that she found this one of the more boring classes she had to take. It would be fun if they learned about more...interesting animals but it always had to be the safe, cute kinds which Lux found entirely too annoying.

Case in point. They were learning about puppies today. As if unicorns weren't enough, the professor had to shove another species of cute, fluffy...nice animals down their throat. What a horrific way to celebrate the last class of the year. Perhaps the only redeeming quality of the crups was their tendency of aggression towards Muggles. They weren't completely nice but they were close enough which was all Lux needed to hate them.

"Too bad unicorns aren't around to stomp their guts out," Lux said under her breath as she stood behind the group already gathered. She meant it as a joke, knowing that a unicorn was probably too disgustingly pure and good to ever harm another animal except maybe in self defense.

Jacques had been relatively lazy with classes this year. Though, his home tutor had taught him most of the curriculum back home over the summer. Hogwarts was just... an opportunity to make connections. Jacques was making connections in his own time, and was currently dealing with an overly fond Eloise who had not left him alone since the Christmas Ball.

Straightening his robes once more, Jacques slipped in to the grounds of the school and down towards the meeting point of the Care of Magical Creatures class. He wasn't overly fond of the class, truth be told, but there was very little he could do since he had opted to take all electives, despite the Headmaster's concerns.

Arriving at the scene of the class, Jacques' face turned up in disgust. Crups. The only thing that could make this lesson worse was if Eloise turned up. Or Ellie. Or both.
