Body type: Marcus comes from a background of fighters, so from a young age he has been training for the day when he will join in with the activities his family partake in. This means that Marcus is quite toned, boasting a six back, and muscled arms and legs. It's not to the point of excessive, though, because Marcus isn't a gym junkie.
Dress sense: Being a Pureblood means a lot of suits for Marcus, however, when he has down time, he's known to don a pair of jeans and where more casual styles. Always, though, Marcus looks well dressed, because he would not have it any other way.

Likes:
- Chess - it's a game of power, strategy and often a source of much triumph for Marcus.
- Potions. Marcus grew up to be very good at potions - unlike his younger siblings who excelled in the offensive and defensive magic.
- Murder mystery and detective novels.
- Challenges excite Marcus a lot, so people playing hard to get are the people Marcus is more attracted to.
- Flirting with the ladies, trying to get a score.
- To an extent, Marcus likes art, however, he is not an avid art lover, he can simply appreciate the effort that has been made.
- Dogs - the Muggle variety.
- The power his family has in the wizarding world.
- Travelling.
- Not overly known, but once Marcus is comfortable with someone he loves cuddling. But, you have to really know him for this information to come to the surface.
- Once Marcus finds the right person, quality time with them is something he will need.
Dislikes:
- Vampires, not to the intensity of his siblings and parents, but he doesn't like the halfbreeds that much.
- Cheap things - women, alcohol, clothes. Why pay little for these things when spending a lot more will give you a finer quality?
- People trying to fool him. Marcus is quite clever, and does not appreciate being played.
- Being flirted with too hard, he is the flirter, and over complimenting him will only lead him to tire of your presence.
- Being forced in to things, particularly marriage.
Strengths:
- Marcus is not afraid of being himself, in a family of people who have followed the same path, Marcus has made his own.
- Despite being an individual, however, Marcus did allow the time spent learning how to attack and defend himself to become something he was very good at, so with or without a wand, Marcus could be deemed very capable (and in some people's eyes, a little dangerous).
- Marcus' loyalty is unwavering, so if you can earn it, you will have a highly trustworthy friend for life.
Weaknesses:
- Excessively jealous. Marcus has had a couple of girlfriends in his past, school time flings whilst he waited for the right woman. The thought of any other man having those girl's attention used to drive him mad with jealousy, and perhaps left the younger Marcus in a number of avoidable fights.
- Forgiveness is not something that comes easy for Marcus, if you have betrayed his trust, you had better work very hard to make it up to him if you truly want him to forgive you. Half hearted sorry's will not cut it.
- Is not known to back down from a challenge, and therefore has something of a reckless personality.
- Feeling weak or vulnerable.
Positive traits:
- Highly sexual - Marcus prefers relations that get steamy, which may sometimes be seen as a flaw, but to him this is a positive trait, as he gets more fun.
- Conversationalist. Getting Marcus to shut up can some times be a problem, but his conversation is both intelligent and interesting so there has been only a few occasions when he's actually been asked to shut up.
- Self-disciplined, for Marcus this comes in the physical sense of discipline. He trains regularly, and has quite the control on his emotions.
Negative traits:
- Competitive to the point of it being a flaw. Marcus will challenge someone to another round, another game, or the like until he wins. Losing is simply not an option to the man.
- Marcus has been known to procrastinate a lot if the subject which he has been given does not captivate his attention completely. Therefore, if you want Marcus to do something, best make sure there is a suitable reward at the end of it!
- Marcus isn't known to do things by half, the excessive nature that he holds can be quite the problem on nights out drinking, because he drinks beyond reason and wakes up much worse for wear than he should.
Marcus was born the eldest child of Flora and Dominic Westbrook, thankfully he was the first boy, strong and healthy, a boy who would one day take on the family name, business, and traditions. With this resting on his shoulders, Marcus was brought up to understand what each meant, what would be expected of him upon his parents passing, and how he was going to do all of this.
Combat lessons started when Marcus turned five. This meant additions to his normal political, literary and sporting lessons each day that build him up in to a child who was much too aware of the world. His brother also came in to the world around the same time, meaning his father now had two male heirs, both important, and both supported through life in much the same manner.
When Marcus got to schooling age, Quintin was just starting his combat lessons, something Marcus had wanted to help his younger brother through, but Hogwarts was calling for him. The summer before his letter arrived, Marcus welcomed his younger sister in to the world, which started to sway his opinion on everything he had learned thus far. How could a girl be expected to do the things he had? The questions had begun by this point, and Marcus thought them through thoroughly on the train ride to Hogwarts.
The Sorting Hat had found it easy shipping him off to Slytherin, but Marcus didn't feel like he belonged in that house as the year's progressed. His peers thought him to be some kind of monster for being in Slytherin, and for a time, Marcus believed them. But, as he grew older, he came to realise that you were only what you allowed yourself to be.
And the Sorting Hat's decision became clear - he was placed for his ambition.
The ambition began with grades, in which Marcus worked hard to beat anyone who thought of him as something negative. His next goal was the Quidditch team - he was Beater for the Quidditch team by the end of his third year, and Quidditch Captain by the end of his fourth year. Fifth year brought the arrival of a Prefect's badge, which Marcus wore with pride, not allowing anyone to belittle his achievements.
Seventh year brought the arrival of the Head Boy badge, and his clean sweep of Outstanding N.E.W.T.S. Marcus had come home that year as the pride and joy of the house. Which had lasted only a short amount of time when he'd told his parents he was going to travel the world before he settled down. They had not been overly happy with this news, but Marcus had not been swayed.
Since then, Marcus has been living his life through his potioneering skills. Helping around the world with new discoveries, and aiding Healers in their work. Marcus keeps in touch with his siblings continuously, though, making sure they're okay, and finding out what is going on back home.
The most recent of which disclosed the fact Marcus had been pointed in the direction of a French witch. For marriage.

The Westbrook family originated in Kent and can be traced back to 1255. The spelling of the name has changed over the years, but within the last couple of centuries, the family has settled on the current spelling, Westbrook. It was in the early 1500's that the Westbook family chose to start their family business on a more open nature, Vampire Hunting was the family business from 1560, and their family has been doing so ever since this time.
The Westbrooks have been a prestigious family for over 800 years, and have kept the Pureblood ideaologies close to heart. Their hunting of halfbreeds (not always kept to vampires) has reinforced this message amongst other Pureblood families, and they have strong ties within the Ministry for it.
The heirs of the Westbrook family are trained how to fight from the age of five, since the family believes in protecting their own. At the age of sixteen, each child is taken on their first hunt, and honoured with the killing of the vampire they catch on that date. It is a gruesome tradition, but one that lives on to this day. To not perform the tradition is to label yourself disinherited, and no one has done so since the 17th century.
Today, the Westbrooks also have their own business connections outside of the hunting circles, and are thriving in both areas. Many Purebloods in the UK look up to the Westbrook family, but the same amount are also quite terrified of their ways, too. |
