| Tessa was passed out to her assistant as Chester went back to the party. Her assistant got her out of the car. She kept telling her that she was fine to drive and everything would be alright. Tessa knew that she wasn’t in her right mind. And that the alcohol was clouding her judgment. She then started up her car after several attempts she started the car. That is when she drove off. ****** All the words that Jackson said to Tessa after Damien cheated were echoing. It was like she was meant to stay in this hell. And that she wasn't worthy of love as she was the one that was getting bitten. Tessa had no idea how to change it or even make it stop. All she wanted to do was just forget about what he did to her. But she knew that wasn't going to be the case. Was she unlovable? As his first love Damien cheated on her. She was sure that they were going to make it. And then Jackson made sure to drive a dagger in her heart. There was a saying twice bitten and once shy. With all the words she was screaming to make it stop. But it wasn't but was just getting louder. Why was this happening to her? Had she not suffered enough?
And she had no idea why everything bad was happening to her now. She knew that Jackson had run off and was happy. She wanted to pretend that he had run into her arms. But it made it more painful as she once trusted this person. Now she was betrayed by another person. Her daughter was the only person that she had in her life. And she knew that she was going to give her the world. But first, she needed to try to figure out how to bring the light. Tessa felt like this was eating her alive and there was nothing she could do. And there was nobody that she could turn to for help. As she didn't want to burden her Dia. As she was getting ready to start her adult life. She just prayed that this would never happen to her. But Tessa knew that she couldn't stop her from being hurt or living life.
Tessa thought she had just seen Chester. But did she kiss him? Or was it something that her mind was playing tricks on her? Was it because she wanted to do it or was it the whiskey? Now she would have to think about everything that was happening to her. Jackson had just broken it off with her. Was she ready to jump back into a relationship? Or was she meant to stay broken forever?
Tessa was lying on a gurney looking as if she was asleep. One of the ambulance crew had to help as soon as she was out of the car. They were wheeling her in and were talking to a group of nurses who were waiting for them. “ We got a Jane Doe as we couldn’t find any ID. The only thing we could find is what looks to be a work card from Fox.” The person then handed it to a nurse. While the other nurses were working on Tessa she was going to do her best to find out who she was. Because this was a Jane Doe that was brought and everyone deserved to know what was happening.
The doctors were able to get Tessa to where she was stable. There were times when they thought that they almost lost her. But she was lucky that there was a great team with her. They had to be hooked up to machines. There was a tube that was down her throat that was helping her to breathe. And it seemed like the other nurse was able to contact someone from Fox. She explained what had happened and hoped that someone could come and give this lady a name.
Right now Tessa was in a coma. But she had no idea what had happened to her. Right now her body was trying to heal itself. But she couldn’t help but wonder if Jackson would even care about what happened to her. Maybe Chester would show up and be by her bed when she woke up. Or did she really hope deep down that it was Jackson? But she knew that there were some other women who caught his attention. Which made her question if everything that she had was real or not.
She was in her hospital room and there wasn’t anything that she could do. It looked like Tessa was just left in her mind. Wondering how long was it till she woke up. Or if she would ever wake up again. Maybe this was life's way of telling her that she really didn’t deserve to live. Just like it seemed like Jackson felt that she didn’t deserve him. After everything that she went through with Damien. And she even swore that she would never date another guy like him. But it seemed like she didn’t learn anything from that lesson.
Maybe this was her second chance at life. And if she woke then she wasn’t going to waste it. She knew that she would have to worry about that later. As right now there was nothing that she could do. As she knew that the world was still going on around her. And time would tell if she would come out of the coma or not.

| Truthfully, after putting Tessa in to the care of her assistant, Chester had not thought about the woman again from that point onwards in to the night. His vision was set not on the Head of Fox, but the intern who was all too grateful to be within the celebrations of Fox that evening. And even more willing to get a good name for herself with the CFO of the company. Chester was not above using his position for his own gain, Merlin knew he had been doing so for some time now.
Which was exactly why he'd taken the young intern back to his office. She'd been on her knees in front of his chair for some time, pressing away any doubt in her mind of this being wrong with the soft reassurances that he would make her big in the industry as he pushed her down further along his length.
When he'd finished the first time, the young girl had been unsure what came next, but Chester had made it quite clear they had time as he opened his drawer, and lavished her with finer alcohol than the rest of the party had been drinking. They'd spent some time talking, mostly on the girl's behalf, in truth, until he felt the stirring in his pants again.
The intern had looked curiously down as he made the same realisation.
Nervousness showed on her features, but Chester paid it no mind as he turned her around, bent her over his desk, and had his way with her with little and less preamble.
He'd gone home that evening feeling more than a little proud of himself.
Everything was coming together.
*** It was with a splitting headache that Chester had woken the next morning. The sound of his mobile going off far too loudly as he tried to remember what had gotten him here. Searching blearily for his phone from the side of his bed, Chester had finally managed to pick it up on the sixth or seventh chiming.
"'Lo?" He slurred, wincing as his head pounded.
"Chester, someone from the team had been taken to the hospital."
"What do I care?" Chester asked.
"Well, we've done a roster check this morning. Only one person hasn't come in."
For half a second, Chester's mind would panic. Thinking of the intern. Covered in his semen, in an accident, and the scandal that could cause.
"Who?"
"Tessa."
"Oh." Chester breathed a sigh of relief, relaxing back in to his pillows.
"Can you go?"
"Mmm, fine." Chester replied, hanging up the phone and taking another hour to get out of bed, dress, pop a couple of aspirins, and head down to the hospital as he'd been asked. When he was there, he'd had to prove who he was before he could possibly be allowed in to the room, and when he was, it was definitely who they'd thought it was. Tessa Greene laid on the hospital wing looking to be in quite the bashed up state. The doctor who'd seen Chester in had explained what had happened, and RTC which Chester couldn't say he was surprised by at all.
But so far, she hadn't woken up.
A coma.
"So, is she... likely to pull through?" Chester asked, almost robotically in that moment. His mind was already ahead of the answers, and the plans that would come in to place.
"We're very unsure at the moment." The doctor admitted.
"She'll need to be transferred, to the private hospital." Chester said. "And, make sure this news doesn't get out, to anyone. After such a big win, I don't want anyone in the Fox team to feel any uncertainty, until we know more."
The doctor simply nodded, and went away to pull up the records for Tessa Greene, and find out how they would be able to treat the woman. Chester stood at the foot of her bed, considering her and the actions she'd taken.
"Bit of a stupid move, Tess. Driving drunk." He mused, though not in a manner that would bely friendship, it was almost certainly a judgement of her feminine character. "But, don't worry. I'll look after everything for you." | |
