| Scarlett walked down the hill towards the shrieking shack. She smiled as her eyes landed on the old buikding. It was abandoned and falling apart. A lot like Scarlett. She connected to this house on a spiritual level. That's why she loved to go to the old house. She finished the trek down the hill and walked inaide. She set up a whole little sleeping area in the main bedroom. She had a four poster bed set up with 600 thread count sheets. She flopped onto the bed and smiled as the familiarity enveloped her. Just as she was about to close her eyes she heard someone enter and sat up "how did you know I was here?" She asked her eyes locking with the man who ad entered her little hide out. She recogized him from school, but he could not put a name to his face |

| Finley had, for the most part, managed to keep away from the Shrieking Shack. He had no reason to go in to the old, dilapidated house, so he'd never come near it. And, today, he had no reason to go there. Except that he had seen a girl heading towards the Shack, and his Prefect instincts had kicked in. Finley was not a brave young man, he was very far from being brave, in his head, but he had a heart, and he was not going to let someone get hurt.
So, hurrying along after the witch he'd seen, Finley came to the door of the shack and let himself in. Taking a steadying breath, the Ravenclaw followed the sound of footsteps up to a room on the first floor. "H-Hello?" The boy called out, before seeing the girl he'd been following led out on a bed in a room.
"How did you know I was here?"
"I saw you c-come in to the house." Finley admitted sheepishly, hoping that he hadn't frightened the girl by following her. "I just... I just w-wanted to make sure you were okay... W-we're not supposed to come in h-here." The boy explained, hoping this would make things seem a little better in the long run. |

| Scarlett stared at the boy in silence for a good few minutes. SHe didnt know what to say at that point in time. It was sweet that the boy was worried about her and her well being and followed her to make sure she was ok. But at the same time, he had invaded her secret place.
She sighed and sat up, her hair falling in front of her face and over her shoulders to hide some of the scars that were there. She had not bothered to use magic to cover them up that morning because she didnt intend to interact with anyone while she was here.
She rubbed her arms subconciously and locked eyes with him again. "I am aware we are not supposed to come in here. But I do anyway. Sometimes I need to escape life and this is the quietest most secluded place I could find. No one bothers me here. Well, usually."She said frowning a bit |

| As the girl sat up, Finley's eyes averted from the witch. Really, Finley was not very good at interacting with people, and girls made him much more nervous than anything else. Whatever part of him had brought him up in to the house had not really thought the whole thing through, given he was now faced with the fact he had to talk to someone.
At the explanation, Finley could see her point completely. Not many people ventured up to the Shrieking Shack, and normally, those who did didn't dare to stay long. Thinking about it now, though, Finley didn't really understand why people were so afraid... there was nothing wrong with the shack at all. Unless, of course, the ghosts who haunted the place had gone out for a bit, much like how the Hogwarts ghosts left from time to time.
He was babbling in his own head.
"I'm s-sorry for bothering you. I can g-go, if you're okay?" The Ravenclaw prefect proposed, hoping to make amends for the fact he had intruded on the witch's personal time. |

| Scarlett couldnt help but giggle. The boy was so scared and nervous around her. She didnt know why though. But she was curious. She smiled softly at him "you can stay if you wish to do so I do not mind. I mean... you are already here so..." she said biting her lower lip and moving her hair out of her face to expose her bright green eyes "im scarlett, by the way. Scarlett fyre. 5th year. Hufflepuff. Whats your name?" She asked, trying to make conversation between her and the boy thaf would not end up in him being terrified. She lied back down on rhe bed and patted the spot beside her for him to sit if he wished to do so "I do not bite. Much" she said laughing at her own personal joke. She was a werewolf. Of course she had a bad bite. But only once a month |

| Finley, fortunately, had the grace to blush when the witch explained that he could stay because he'd already intruded on her personal space anyway. He hadn't meant to, truly, he had just acted on impulse so that a fellow student wouldn't get hurt. How chivalrous of you, his mind scalded as he gave a small nod to show that he understood the witch's wishes.
"I'm F-Finley." The Ravenclaw responded with a small smile when he was asked his name. "F-Finley Allen. Ravenclaw." He added in the same manner in which Scarlett had introduced herself to him. "Shouldn't you be r-revising for your exams?" Finley continued, curious as to how anyone in their O.W.L. year could be so laid back. He certainly hadn't been this relaxed when he was doing his exams last year, and Merlin only knew what he was going to be like next year when he had to do his N.E.W.T.S.
The invitation to sit on the bed was one that Finley took, but not quickly, he hesitated before deciding that it couldn't hurt. Sitting right on the end, Finley took in the surroundings and frowned to himself. "I t-thought this was supposed to be haunted..." He admitted, realising now that not all the things he'd read in his books were actually right. |

| Scarlett kept her eyes on the boy and smiled when he finally geaced her with the knowledge of his name "well finnley. It is a pleasure to meet you. you are a prefect, right?" She was pretty sure she was right in this statement. When he mentioned the owls she laughed softly "not all of us have our nose in a book 24 hours a day." She was surprised she was able to converse with this boy so freely without fear. Normally, scarlett was terrified around the male gender thanks to her father. But this felt... different. This felt... safe. Maybe because the boy seemed more afraid of her than she could ever be of him. She didnt know exactly, but it seemed that way. "It is supposedly haunted. But I think thats just made up to keep people out of here. To keep nosy students away from it. Didnt really work with me though, did it?" She asked as a laugh escaped her lips.

| Finley nodded at the question of being a Prefect. "Professor Jameson t-thought I would make a g-good prefect." The boy explained, even now, two years after receiving the badge, the Ravenclaw did not understand why he, the nervous boy that he was, had been chosen to be in charge of the student body. Finley would likely never understand the reasoning behind the badge being given to him, but that didn't matter, he worked hard to show he deserved to be a Prefect.
The comment on books brought a soft laugh from Finley's lips, and he accepted the reality of those words. Not everyone was like him, but he would definitely would have been a lot less carefree about the exams if he was Scarlett. He wasn't her parents, though, so Finley wasn't going to lecture her for that.
"W-why would you want to keep people out of an a-abandoned house?" Finley asked, though he didn't really expect an answer. The inquisitive nature within him simply wanted to know what was in the house that anyone might not want to be found by others, but, quite simply, Finley did not have an answer springing to mind. |

| Scarlett simply nodded before pulling the blanket she was lying on top of out from under her and covered herself with it as it had gotten a bit chilly in the room. "It must be a great honor to be a prefect. I wish I could be one" she said sighing and pushed her hair out of her face.
She stretched out on the bed and sighed a bit "so finley. Tell me a bit about you?" If the boy was going to be keeping her company she wanted to know a bit about him. More than what met the eye that is.
She chuckled at his question. "Well rumor has it. The house was built as a haven for a student years ago who was also a werewolf. Thats why people think its haunted. They would hear ths cries from his transformation." She said her eyes lighting up a bit with fascination for the old folk tale. |

| The idea of being a Prefect being an honour made Finley nod a little, before tilting his head to the side a little in though. "It is, I g-guess." The boy responded, giving a small shrug. "I'm just... n-not confident I do a good j-job." He admitted, because Merlin look at him, he couldn't string a sentence together without stuttering throughout it. But, it was better than it used to be. Much better.
"M-me?" Finley gave another small shrug of his shoulders as he looked off around the room. He didn't think himself very interesting, truth be told, and he certainly didn't think telling the girl before him he liked reading and video games was going to be of much interest. No, she definitely didn't seem like that kind of girl. "I'm just F-Finley." He replied, his tone quite obviously showing he wasn't impressive to even himself. He was a nerd, and there was nothing more to it.
The idea of werewolves made Finley raise an eyebrow. "That's quite t-the story. I don't know if t-there are any, n-not anymore." He said, believing that to be true. Werewolves were something of the last Wizarding War, they seemed to have died away now. Or... perhaps he was just being blissfully unaware, who knew. |
