With the weather slowly gaining in warmth, Roxanne Förstner made her way outside into the courtyard, a fairly thick tome under her arm as she strolled through the beautiful green grounds that seemed to be gaining colour every day that she looked outside.

With March already there, and April quickly approaching, Roxanne had been spending much time outside, getting as much sun as she could as she knew perfectly well that come summer time she would be stuck inside all her holiday being tutored again. It didn't bother her as much as most people would think it would but it bothered her enough in the sense that she got no time to herself to just relax and enjoy having friends over.

Not like she could actually blame her father; being a Förstner wasn't easy and having friends over at the manor where many illegal dealings were going on was just asking for trouble and neither her nor her father needed that trouble, at least not right now when she was a thirteen-year-old.

Letting a soft sigh at that, Roxy found herself a nice shaded bench where she perched down on, her book being placed on her lap before she opened it to the page she had finished last night. Thankfully it was a German book, so no-one could actually take a peek at what she was reading but if someone at Hogwarts knew German she would've probably been in deep shit and maybe getting expelled.

The ginger-haired female took no notice of anyone walking around her and taking a peek at what she was doing; they weren't actually bothering her and it's not like they could read the book anyway.

Another year had come to pass, almost, and it seemed like another year had been wasted within the confines of the walls of Hogwarts. Well, to a degree, at least. Mathew had taught himself much more than that of the professors, he'd studied through the O.W.L. level work of most lessons - or at least the ones of interest - and practiced the spells in his own time.

It was simply something the Hufflepuff boy did to amuse himself, because otherwise, he'd have gotten bored a very long time ago.

Today, Mathew was heading back from Quidditch practice. Thoroughly disgruntled with the Captain who had had the nerve to tell him that he was not thinking of the team after injuring their Seeker. It was hardly Mathew's fault that the idiot could not have moved out of the way the Bludger quick enough. They were supposed to practice properly, where was the fun in not hitting Bludgers with accuracy? Mathew simply could not understand.

Slipping in to the courtyard with his broom slung across his shoulder, Mathew paused at the bench because his shoe had come untied. Placing his broom down, the boy lifted his foot on the bench, and took in his surroundings. Across the way, there was a witch. Reading. There was nothing curious about that, truthfully, but the Hufflepuff sat down on the bench and watched her for a while.

Again, she was doing nothing remarkable. She didn't need to do anything. The boy was just taking in what was deemed to be normal behaviour. Wondering whether he looked the same way when working.

And, should the witch look up, Mathew was not the kind of person who would look away in embarrassment. He would keep looking. Keeping watching, trying to understand.

Roxanne wasn't overly conscious of her surroundings but she could feel that penetrating gaze from across her; the eyes that seemed locked onto her and the female had to stop herself from cursing in anger at whoever was making her that uncomfortable. It wasn't uncomfortable in the way that Roxy thought she was watched by a pervert, it was uncomfortable in the way that she thought she was being judged and for a minute, she felt a shiver crawl up her spine, one that wrecked her whole body.

The German student licked her lips and slowly, oh so very slowly she rose her head and locked eyes with her watcher, a perfectly sculptured brow arching as she took the boy in. He looked older than her, not much older but certainly older by a year at least; she knew he wasn't in her year because she didn't recognize him.

He was fairly nice to look at but those eyes just made her bite her lower lip harshly as she flicked her eyes to the book quickly enough to remember her page before she turned back to watching. She wasn't going to break eye contact with him; either he'd do it first or someone would have to. No-one was going to have the pleasure of making Roxy feel uncomfortable and make her break eye contact.

She took in the yellow and bronze colours on the boy's clothes as well as the broom at his side and instantly concluded that he was a Hufflepuff coming back from Quidditch practice which made her furrow her brows before they evened out.

She would've spoken up by now, demanded him to stop looking but something within her just stopped her, told her to silently watch the boy, to let him be the first to break the silence.

As the witch's eyes moved up to meet his, Mathew's eyes stayed firmly in place. The eyebrow that was raised did little to deter the Hufflepuff as he continued to watch her. Her eyes flickered away momentarily - checking her book, Mathew assumed and then her eyes were back on his.

Any normal person might have smiled back in response, but Mathew's features remained in their unfaltering blank state.

The furrowing of the witch's brow brought thoughts to Mathew's features about what it was she might be thinking about, but it evened out almost as quickly as it came to her features. Curious... Mathew thought to himself as his team mates came back up from the Quidditch Pitch, too.

"Matt!" Gideon called out - it irked Mathew so much when people shortened his name. "Come on, we're going to play exploding snap and see if we can get the house elves to bring food."

Mathew's eyes, though, nor his attention, were pulled from the witch. Still watching as he replied with a non-committal 'I'll be there' to the boys.

"Roxy!" Gideon added - a fifth year, he was, not overly popular, but the girls found him attractive enough. Gideon gave the witch a smile as he walked past her, a usual thing for a male to do, Mathew was sure.

But Mathew didn't move despite saying he would be there, still waiting for the witch. Though, what he was waiting for... he didn't know, yet.

Roxy didn't dare break her gaze from the Hufflepuff Male as she closed her book and left it on her lap, her hands laying on top of it in a relaxed state though she was fairly tempted to take the book and hurl it at the Quidditch player opposite her.

She didn't even dare blink for fear of breaking the gaze as she thought that something just may happen in that instance of blinking; she was suddenly glad for the hours upon hours of sitting with her tutors at home and being lightly slapped with a ruler on the back of her head when she even dared to blink when they were showing her something.

Her attention didn't even weaver when the rest of the Hufflepuff team came down from the pitch though her lips curled slightly in a frown when she heard her name being called. "Gideon." Her voice was a soft lilt as she spoke the boy's name though she didn't even look at him and instead continued her staring contest with the other boy.

"Finished Quidditch practice I presume?" The German witch questioned but she still didn't avert her gaze, something, she was quite sure, that annoyed the boy who clearly wanted her to take notice of him but she didn't; he wasn't that much to look at and not to mention being the Heir to the Förstner family Roxy was expected to find a Pureblood husband or at least a Half-blood who was fairly well off and wouldn't expect to get much or to become Head of the Förstner. Her father clearly stated that she would be heading the family and no-one else, no matter who he was.

"Indeed - good session - well, until Matt decided to put the Seeker in the hospital wing, that is!" Gideon replied, glancing back just in time to see a large gaggle of girls finally catching up with the Quidditch team. Giggling as they tried to get closer to the boys.

Mathew's eyes had held fast, until the point the gaggle of girls had made it impossible to see the witch - Roxy as Gideon had supplied - the courtyard was streaming with them. Mathew was not one for the giddiness of witches, and seeing as his target had been completely blocked from view, he'd picked up his broom and left the courtyard - without being seen by Roxy, and headed up to the common room without a word.

It would only be a few moments longer before the crowd dispersed, but upon the dispersal of the crowd, there would be no Hufflepuff sat on the bench anymore. Seemingly having vanished in to thin air. Even if this was not the case.

"Hnn..." Roxanne hummed in the back of her throat as she continued holding her stare off with Matt, as Gideon had called him, her eyes never even straying from the blond-haired Hufflepuff until her view was blocked by a gaggle of girls which made her click her tongue as a moment too soon she noticed that said Hufflepuff was long gone.

Deciding that she had enough sociolizing for the day, the third year Ravenclaw packed up her book and stood up, brushing off the dust from her skirt which was barely covering her thighs. "Well, it was nice speaking to you Gideon." She said curtly with a bow of her head, a slight mocking bow but a bow nonetheless as she stared at the Hufflepuff for a few moments. "Give Matt..." Here she curled her lips. "My greetings."

With that the Ravenclaw witch walked off with a sway of her hips, chuckling softly under her breath as she could hear the curses behind her. It was always fun riling up boys who didn't know what to do with their reactions.
