| Introduction to the Treasure Hunt!
It is time for us to announce the next site wide event in which everyone (with Hogwarts students) can participate. The event will be that of a treasure hunt, taking place within Hogwarts.
You can sign up with one, none, or all of your characters to compete in the treasure hunt, but we ask that you only sign up with the amount of characters you think you can handle. Also note that this is for Hogwarts students only, and so your adults cannot participate in this. We apologise for this.
The treasure hunt will start on 1 May 2017 (IRL), i.e. the first day of the new term. We will leave the hunt open for the whole of the school term -- so you don’t have to start on the 1st of May if you are too busy. As it is quite a long event, we do suggest you start as soon as possible, once the first post is made available for you on May 1 (IRL).
The treasure hunt (In Game) will take place in September 2021 where the weather is warm enough for all areas of the hunt to take place, so please keep this in consideration with your posts.
The sign up sheet as well as the instructions for the hunt will be available from now until the end of the treasure hunt, and you may sign up now if you wish. The event itself will only begin on May 1 (IRL), though.
Don’t worry if you do not understand the instructions (especially number 1) right now; everything will be made clear as soon as the event starts.

| Instructions & Rules of Treasure Hunt
1) The post from the admin is a guide. Please don’t take this to mean that you cannot write about the events that happen -- rather, you are expected to elaborate on it, including your character’s thoughts, emotions, and responses. However, while it is a guide, you are expected to follow the instructions and directions exactly as they are written so please read the posts carefully. If you are unsure, please don’t hesitate to ask via PM.
2) All NPCs in the posts are not to be GMed unless stated otherwise. Their reactions will be given to you in the post. You are expected to follow them. Your character’s reactions, however, are completely up to you.
3) If the instructions are not followed, an admin will PM you to explain where you have gone wrong, and ask you to amend. Unless amended, the treasure hunt cannot be continued for that character. Please don’t feel bad if you have been PMed -- we all make mistakes.  We are only asking you to amend so that it fits into the pre-made treasure hunt we have created.
4) Read all instructions carefully so as to avoid the above.
5) In the case of your character wishing to do something other than the options provided, we apologise and simply ask that you (they) pick the one out of the options given. While we understand that some characters would act differently and have tried to provide a variety of options, we simply cannot cover everything as that would be impossible.
6) Please make sure that all decisions made are those that would be considered in character.
7) If you are placing a character into the treasure hunt, please consider their age, strengths and magical capabilities when selecting the option that they would pick. If your character is too young to know a spell/not very good at that spell, please take this point into consideration.
8 ) Read all instructions carefully. Seriously. We can’t stress this enough; it won’t work well if you skim or don’t read properly.
9) When there are multiple choices, please remember to list the choice your character has made at the bottom of your post, either in bold or in another colour, to make it easier for the admin to see.
10) If you have any doubts, questions, or concerns, please don’t hesitate to PM an admin.
11) Please do not nag the admin for your next post. The answer to question six in the form is your favourite magical creature in the wizarding world. Whilst we appreciate you’re probably very excited to play, we do have busy lives and will need time to both check your post, and then post then next part of the hunt.
12) Normal site rules apply to all posts that are included within the hunt.
13) The treasure hunt will be completed alone, and not in pairs or groups. That means for each character of yours that participates, a sign up sheet must be completed for/as them. | |
