A Whole New World (Wesley & The Twins) Empty

Hogwarts wasn't really what Wesley had been expecting, truth be told. You could see in the stone work the effects of a war - not even magic could repair the building to something untainted. Wesley had found the place... unsettling. He'd not really done very well with finding his way around the school, getting lost more often than not. Lessons were boring, to say the least, unlike the lessons that kept you on your toes at Durmstrang.

Friends hadn't come easily, either. Having found himself in the Ravenclaw Tower - something he still didn't fully comprehend - Wesley had found it difficult to find others to talk to. This said, they were only just in to the term. He had time.

But, even Wesley wasn't so sure of that as he sat at the far end of the Ravenclaw table in the Great Hall, eating his breakfast on his own. Perhaps coming to the UK hadn't been the right answer in the end? Perhaps running from his past, from the memories of Anastasiya had been the wrong move...

Looking down in to the weird food - he'd taken some porridge out of curiosity, but didn't actually know what it was called - Wesley mulled over his life some more.

Melody had been walking with her sister, Madison, on their way to breakfast. It was early in the morning, meaning there weren't really many people around at that time. Melody, personally, preferred it that way. Less people meant her and her sister had time to exchange information, and talk about current affairs, and how they might approach various issues, specifically regarding friends.

Walking into the Great Hall she saw, sitting alone, the boy her sister had told her about, the one that she had met over the summer. Madison's new mind to toy with. Melody had seen him around the school (initially pointed out by Madison), though hadn't ever had an opportunity to start a conversation. Until that morning.

Exchanging a knowing glance with Madison, Melody decided to approach the Ravenclaw. She walked over to the the boy, and without a word, sat down in front of him "Wesley, right?" she asked, a sweet smile gracing her lips.

The lumpy consistency of the porridge -- that Wesley still didn't know to be called this -- was not the nicest breakfast in the world. Probably not something he would eat again, but the Ravenclaw was persistent and carried on eating. Eyes downcast, and his mind everywhere but the hall, he did not notice someone come in to the hall and head his way.

Which was precisely the reason he jumped -- quite noticeably -- when the witch before him spoke. Mind slightly slow on the uptake, it took him a moment to catch up with the point that the witch had asked him his name.

Why in Merlin's name would Madison ask him his name when they had met over the summer and talked over ice cream? That didn't make any sense.

"Yes, we met over the summer. Remember?" Wesley supplied for the witch, the frown on his features not letting up as he took the witch in. He wasn't trying to make her feel bad, of course, just trying to prompt the memory. Because, seemingly, you're not very memorable.

"How are you, Madison?" Wesley asked, showing that he remembered who she was. Again, not to make her feel bad, but to show he had remembered their meeting, and she didn't need to give him her name again.
