Theyre so beautiful(Max)

Zoey walked down the hill towards the forbidden forest and stared at the dense forest of trees. She thought for a moment before walking into it. She took a few deep breaths as she walked around and stared at a few of the tiny creatures that were living there.

As she walked around, she felt like she was being watched. She didnt know why, but it felt eerie and scary. She looked around and her jaw dropped when she saw a beautiful white creature standing before her. There was no mistaking this magnificent beast. It was a Unicorn. She smiled as she watched the one horned creature drinking from the lake deep within the Forbidden Forest.

Suddenly, the Unicorn snapped its head up when it heard a twig break before it ran off. Zoey frowned as it left, it had been so alluring and majestic to watch the innocent creature. She turned to see what had disturbed it

As per usual, Max had found himself in the Forbidden Forest, chasing after any and every creature that could be found within it's shadows. Max's attention had been held by the Bowtruckles for a little longer than he'd wanted before he'd set off deeper in to the Forest in search of more animals. Perhaps the Hippogryffs that Professor Jameson had shown them in Care of Magical Creatures might show themselves, or something.

The Gryffindor prefect had been making his way deeper in to the forest when he saw it. The most beautiful creature he'd ever seen. A unicorn. The boy had been so caught up in seeing the beast that he hadn't checked where he'd put his foot, and as the crack of the twig he'd just stepped on echoed through the trees, the beast took flight in an instant, and the moment was gone.

Sighing softly to himself, Max took another step forward, before noticing someone else in the Forest. Max had never been scared of the forest, so he simply smiled at the witch. "Hey!" He called out, before remembering the badge on his chest. Prim's words about trying to act like a good prefect followed only a moment or two later, and Max felt himself in an uneasy position.

"You know... you're not really supposed to be in the forest unsupervised..." Max said, though that was so hypocritical of him he wasn't sure how he was going to see this through, in all honesty.

Zoey frowned when she saw that it was another student that had chased off the Unicorn. But not just any student. It was the Prefect for Gryffindor house. She frowned and crossed her arms over her chest as she looked at him "Well I hope you are happy. You bloody scared her off." SHe said frowning even more. She had been enjoying watching the mystical being in her own environment. It wasn't often that an opportunity such as that came along.

Zoey stepped forward toward the boy and scoffed when he said she wasnt really supposed to be in the forest "I could say the same for you. Prefect or not." She smiled softly even though her tone was rather condescending. She moved her hair out of her face before she looked up at him again.

"Youre Max, right?" She asked wanting to make sure she had gotten the name correct. Zoey was never really good with names. She held her hand out and smiled "Im Zoey, Zoey Kingsley."

"I didn't actually mean to scare her. I was trying to get closer and accidentally stepped upon a twig. Which snapped. Had I wanted to scare her off I would have come running in to the clearing, shouting my head off, and doing a proper good job of it. However, seeing as I actually like animals, and actually intend on caring for Magical Beasts once I finish my time at Hogwarts, I don't think it's very likely that I would actually purposefully scare the animals I love so much.

"So, if you wouldn't mind, I would much prefer it if, next time, you don't jump to false accusations about my actions." Max told the witch, obviously quite upset with the idea he would ever attempt anything bad with an animal. Never, did Max get so heated, unless someone suggested something like that, and the Gryffindor was quite upset with the witch before him.

"Actually, Prefects are allowed to go anywhere, to check there aren't students out of bounds. So, you're rule breaking. I'm not." Max told the witch, smiling mostly to himself. If the Ravenclaw dared to get angry with him, though, he was going to take the points, because that would... surely, solve the problem.

With the witch's hand extended towards him, Max gave it a look that showed he wasn't really sure before shaking it gently and letting go. "Yes, I'm Max." He told her with a small shrug. "Or Maximillian, if you prefer."

Zoey listened to him babble and rant about what had happened before she burst into a fit of giggles "You know I was only teasing you right. I know how you are with animals. I see you in Care of Magical creatures and I know you adore them. So I in fact knew that you had no intention to scare her off."

She could tell she had upset him. She had not meant to do so. She frowned and looked up at him "Im sorry if I offended you. I did not mean to." She said rubbing her arms a bit nervously.

When he started talking about him being a prefect she rolled her eyes but then smiled as he shook her hand "Nice to meet you, Max." She said not really liking the whole Maximillian thing. It was too long for her liking "Well I better get back to the castle. Wouldnt want to get into trouble. Walk with me?"

When the witch laughed at the answer he'd given - or rather, the rant that had simply exploded from him - Max couldn't help but glare at her. Who in their right mind would do such a thing if they knew about how much he cared for animals. Neither Primrose nor Elyah would pull a stunt like that, so quite simply, Max decided to not like the witch before him very much in that moment.

"Yeah, well, don't be rude. People wouldn't get offended then." Max told the witch, a little more firmly than he'd really meant to in that moment. He didn't understand why people had to say things they didn't mean, only to take them back when the damage had already been done. It was just another stupid thing that humans did which made animals much more inviting.

When the witch asked him if he would walk back to the castle with him, Max shook his head. "I don't think I will. Don't dawdle on your way out. The Forest isn't safe come night time." He told her, truthfully not wanting to spend more time with the younger witch than he had to. Irked was nothing short of how he felt in that moment.

Zoey frowned and looked down at her shoes as he spoke. She did not know what to say at that point. She crossed her arms over her chest before putting them down at her side before crossing them again. She felt awkward and nervous now that she had upset him.

When he denied her when she asked if he would escort her back to the castle she looked around the forest nervously "Its already kind of dark out. And its getting kind of scary. Plus, youre a prefect. Youre supposed to watch over us." She said biting her lower lip nervously

However, she could tell he wasnt going to budge on his decision. Sp she turned away from him and made her way toward the castle. She was shaking with every step, afraid something would jump out at her. She eventually made it out of the forest and sighed with relief.
