Excitement (Open) Empty
PostSubject: Excitement (Open)   Excitement (Open) EmptyWed Apr 08, 2015 9:42 pm

Emilia leaped with excitement as daddy took her to Diagon Alley. He told her it was too early for her to start school shopping, as she wouldn't be leaving until September 1st, but she didn't care. She just had to know what the wizarding world looked like and this is the closest she would get for another few months.

As Emilia stepped through the Leaky Cauldron into Diagon Alley, she let out a small, "Whoah!" Her father chuckled, causing her to turn around and smirk at him, wanting to kick him in the shins. Just because he was used to this, doesn't mean she was. She looked around, where to go first? She looked to her left, then to her right, then finally, to her left again. There was so many people here and even more buildings. There were kids and adults, old people wearing robes and animals all around.

Finally, after deciding where she wanted to go, she grabbed her father's arm and began in the direction of Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour. Ice cream sounded great on the smoldering hot day. After a quick snack here, she'd make it a priority to check out every other shop in the shopping district.

Somehow, just somehow, Finley had managed to survive his second year at Hogwarts. He had absolutely no clue as to how he had managed that feat, what with the stupid trips in to the Forbidden Forest, and the crazy Charms professor, not to mention the Slytherin witch that seemed to like him but he wasn't sure of - Madison Bishop.

But, somehow, he had gotten through his second year.

Which only meant he was going to have a tougher time when it came to the next year because things got harder than they already were. Which was going to be a complete nightmare for the Ravenclaw because the practical application of spells and the like were already much too difficult.

Relax, Finley! He told himself as he wandered down Diagon Alley in the warm summer sun. His parents had dropped him off for the day with his information for what he'd need for the next year - Finley hadn't left the castle without the list because he worried much too much about things going wrong.

Seeing as it was getting close to lunch time, Finley had been looking for somewhere to stop for food. He didn't much fancy his chances in the Leaky Cauldron, and upon seeing an ice cream shop, he decided that this was probably going to be the best he could come up with.

Finley had followed in a small witch, probably not much younger than himself, and what was probably her father. Finley simply stood quietly behind them, never one to be overly talkative. But most especially seeing as he was looking up at the board of different ice cream flavours, a lot of which he'd never heard of before in his life.

PostSubject: Re: Excitement (Open)   Excitement (Open) EmptyFri Apr 10, 2015 7:31 am

Out of the number of times that Hailey had been to Diagon Alley, Hailey had never been this excited. She loved coming around this time of year to see students getting their wands and other necessary items for school. And now it was Hailey's turn. She was getting her wand, books, and robes for Hogwarts. She was so excited she was literally jumping up and down making her curls bounce as she went. She had just gotten her robes, and wanted so badly to wear them, but her mother forbade her too as she would probably get them dirty. So far she had gotten a wand, her robes, and a few books. She was warn out but still needed to get a few more things off her list.

But Hailey was worried. On days like today, the rare exciting ones, bad things tended to happen. She was suddenly afraid that aliens would take over, or somebody would get murdered and trampled by the crowd that over flowed the busy streets. She started to grip her mothers hand tighter. Her mother knew of Hailey's paranoia, as Hailey vocally reminded her of it almost every single day that aliens could randomly come in and abduct her and take over the world, and the human race would be doomed. Hailey started rambeling, "Mummy, what if the aliens come today and abduct the entire wizarding population?! What if somebody goes out on the muggle streets, and yells that they are a wizard! What if...." Hailey stopped at her mothers glare.

It was then Hailey saw the ice cream parlor. Her favorite one. She loved just plain chocolate ice cream. She didn't go for the strange flavors like liver worst. Her mother got that and she tried it once and it made her vomit. She then saw a girl who looked about her age! This was exciting! Hailey loved making new friends! Maybe she could make one before she even starts Hogwarts! That would be awesome! She could share the experience of being a first year with somebody else at the very beginning! Hailey hadn't thought about what house she wanted to be in, but what ever house it was she sure hoped it was the same as this girl! She went up and poked her. She said, "Hi! I'm Hailey! And I'm afraid that Aliens are going to take over the world! What's your name?" She hoped she wasn't to factual about herself. If there was anything Hailey hated was scaring off a friend. She was hoping this would be the start of something new.

PostSubject: Re: Excitement (Open)   Excitement (Open) EmptyFri Apr 10, 2015 7:50 am

When Emi entered the ice cream parlour, she was in awe of the many different flavours they had. She had no clue which ones she wanted to try. She looked to her father, who had now walked over to a small table against the window and sat. He wasn't a big fan of ice cream and she knew that. It shouldn't have surprised her when he handed her a couple Galleons and went sat, but it did.

She'd never admit it to him, but she was nervous. She was in a new place and she felt almost alone, though she wasn't. Not long after she'd entered, the little bell above the door rang and a boy, around her age walked in. He was pretty, like her. He had bright blue eyes and dark hair. Momma always said people with blue eyes was pretty, and he had blue eyes so he was considered pretty. She smiled a shy smiled at him, and then turned around and that was when she noticed her father wasn't beside her.

She was next in line when she felt someone poke her. She jumped as she turned as saw a girl with bouncy hair who began shouting an introduction at her. Her mother always told her people believed in different things and that she should mind their beliefs, but Emi struggled to hide that snicker that beckoned to come out when the girl mentioned aliens. This girl, Hailey, was completely bonkers and Emi didn't want it to rub off on her. Not only did she believe in aliens, this girl wanted her name. Emi hated social positions and her father was probably smirking at her right now, because he loved to see her out her comfort zone.

"Oh, ummm, I'm Emi, I mean Emilia." she replied nervously. She wasn't sure she wanted this Hailey chick to know her name or her nickname but she played nice, for the time being. Now wanting pretty boy to be left out, Emi worked up a little confidence and said, "I'm sure she was going to ask you next, what's your name?" She smiled a friendly smile towards him, that Hailey couldn't see, to show that that she was sincere and not crazy like the other girl.

Finley was quite happy standing quietly waiting his turn to order his ice cream. The tall man who had been with the girl had moved to a table, and Finley had thought about saying hello to the girl. For a very small moment, he'd thought about it, but then he'd reminded himself that a conversation would probably then insue and he probably didn't really want that.

So, instead, Finley had stood quietly, noting another girl enter. Who seemed to be much more excitable at the sight of the shop. She was pretty too, though Finley hadn't seen a girl in the wizarding world that he didn't think wasn't pretty.

His cheeks warmed up slightly at that thought, but he pushed it away quite quickly, looking at his feet so hopefully nobody would notice him.

However, the new girl was going to speak and Finley couldn't help but be surprised at the mention of aliens. Perhaps that meant she was like him? From a Muggle family? Maybe he could make a friend in the witch, even if he didn't believe in aliens.

But, before he could speak up and tell the witch that aliens weren't real, the other girl had turned towards him. Smiling slightly at the witch when she spoke to him, Finley looked nervously between the two girls. "M-my name..." He responded, his stutter becoming quite strong because of the new people, so much so that he had to pause. Merlin his heart was racing. Calm down, Finley! He chastised himself inwardly. "M-my name is F-Finley." He introduced himself, motioning to himself the way he always did when posed with the question of his name.

Hailey was being ignored. WHY WAS SHE BEING IGNORED?! All attention was on her, and things were going great as she was informing of the blond girl of aliens, when a boy showed up. She looked him up and down and thought instantly that he was weird. Or even worse, what if he was a non-believer?! The thought had made Hailey almost scream at him. But that wouldn't be fair considering the fact that the boy didn't even know about her internal debate about him being a non-believer of non-human species. And then he spoke. Hailey had never heard of something so...weird. She didn't mean to laugh, it just came out! Hopefully he would understand that she was just an innocent sheltered child and didn't know any better.

She giggled again and asked, "What's wrong with your voice?" Hailey couldn't help that she was a curious child. If she hadn't been curious, she wouldn't be into aliens. Hailey then asked, "What year are you in? You look older!" Maybe that would divert the subject, and she could pretend her giggling never happened. But since she flat out blurted out her rude comment, she knew it was hopeless and he would get his feelings hurt. She hoped he wouldn't cry. That would make her feel even more awful.

Hailey asked, "What's your favorite color? Mine's purple! What about your favorite bird!? Mines a potoo." She thought that was enough questions to keep the boy distracted about her rudeness from earlier. But Hailey simply couldn't help it. If something wasn't normal she had to point it out. If something was out of the norm, Hailey was freaking out, and pointing it out. She really hoped she hadn't ruined her shot at being friends with this boy. If so she would apologize 3289347890783091457 times.

Excitement (Open) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Excitement (Open)   Excitement (Open) EmptyTue Apr 14, 2015 12:05 pm

Maddie was bored, and when she was bored, she went out and she did things. Melody was at a sleepovers at a friends (only one of the girls had been allowed to go, and Madison had willingly let her twin go). After much begging, her father had agreed to take her down to Diagon Alley for shopping, although he had capped her allowance by a significant amount and forbade her to even go into any joke shop. That was a shame, but Madison intended to be on her best behaviour because when she and Mel came back for school shopping, that was when they'd find a way to sneak off to replenish their stock.

So, her dad trailing behind, Maddie spent the early part of the morning buying candy and looking at clothes. It was as she was nearing the ice cream shop that she caught sight of someone familiar, and a sly smile appeared on her features as she approached Finley Allen from behind, skipping her way through the streets.

Keeping out of sight for the time being, she couldn't help but notice a few girls had approached him, and she stayed within hearing range. Throughout the school year she had worked on him, slowly and surely, trying to cure him of his stuttering, and gaining his confidence. Somewhere along the line, she had grown to like him as a - dare she say it? - a friend. That was a small part of her, however, and the majority of her interest in him was in mending him, like he was a puzzle to be fixed. And when she was done putting him together, well, she would undo him and leave him for someone else to play with; after all, passing down your used toys that no longer interested you was better manners versus throwing it away.

Madison, however, was still in the stage of figuring out the puzzle, and when she was playing with something, she hated other people trying to undo her work. So, when she heard one of the girls being rude to Finley, she had to step in. Besides, she had wanted fun, and now fun found her.

Taking a deep breath and moving forward, she placed a very gentle hand on the Ravenclaw's back, smiling at him. "Hello, Finley," she said cheerfully, then turned to face the rude girl and her expression changed.

She made sure that Finley could not see her face from where she stood, and as she looked at the other girl, her face darkened, eyes growing cold. "What kind of question is 'what's wrong with your voice?'" She asked, tone casual for Finley's sake. "There is nothing wrong with it. It's the way he sounds... I could ask you the same thing; what's wrong with your face?"

Shrugging lightly, Maddie looked back at Finley, her expression changing once more. "I'm sorry you had to deal with someone so rude. Not all girls are like that, I promise. Come on, do you want to get some ice cream? I'll pay," she said to him, smiling brightly. If there was one thing she had learnt about Finley was that he hated it when things got too heated or when he was the spotlight, and so she was trying her best to get him out of that situation lest he be broken even more.

Glancing at the second girl, the one who didn't seem to have a problem with Finley, she added, "You can come, too, if you want." Moving up into her second year, Madison already had the support of most of those in her year, and was Miss Popular because she knew how to treat people and play with their strings so they sung to her tune. Any first years who were dumb enough to cross her would learn why she was not to be messed with, but those she didn't mind would be included in things she did, and as such, also gain popularity. The older years didn't care so much about her, but they weren't her goal; she would work her way from the bottom, gaining support from her peers year by year until she was one of the 'older years' and could rule the school, in a manner of speaking.

[[OOC: All the above is IN CHARACTER and has nothing to do with personal feelings towards any and all handlers. Madison is a little witch (and not in the wizarding world kind) and I know it. xD]]

Excitement (Open) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Excitement (Open)   Excitement (Open) EmptyTue Apr 14, 2015 1:30 pm

When the witch that had ignored his existence looked him up and down, Finley could feel his cheeks warming a little bit. Attention. Finley didn't like attention, in any form. Positive or negative attention, he disliked it because attention meant he was the focus of someone's attention. Which made him more nervous.

The laugh that came just after he spoke was what had made Finley so scared of talking over the years. When people laughed at him, or smiled at him in that manner, he knew they weren't being nice. Which didn't help him at all. But, what was worse, oh so worse, was the question that followed.

"What's wrong with your voice?"

That question made Finley flinch, physically. Of all the questions he'd ever been asked about his speech impediment, he was quite sure he hadn't had that one before. And, for a moment, Finley tried to find the words to explain what was "wrong" with him, but he felt, a little suffocated in that moment, just trying to explain it.

"Hello, Finley,"

The hand on the Ravenclaw's back made him jump, before he realised who was beside him. He was still struggling for words, so he settled for a smile in Madison's direction, barely hearing the number of questions from the younger witch because he was having an internal debate with himself.

You could just tell her it's a speech impediment and that you can't help it.

But then, you're going to look like more of an idiot than you already do, because you can't even say the words!

But, it might be helpful for her to know, to understand.

No, you're not helping yourself.

Madison's voice pulled Finley back to the here and now though, with the boy's eyes going wide at her words. They weren't harsh, not at all, but still, they weren't nice either. So, Finley just looked at his feet, trying to block out the scene that was beginning to take place in that moment the best he could. He never asked for a scene, but it seemed they always found him regardless.

When the witch turned back to him, Finley shook his head at her words. "It's o-okay." He assured Madison, because he didn't wish for anyone to be fighting for or against him. He'd made a note of the questions, somewhere in his subconscious and turned back to the girl who had been a little rude before. "I'm a s-second year. W-well, third y-year now." The boy tried to explain, though he wasn't sure when you changed up a year. "And I l-like blue." He explained his favourite colour with a small shrug.

"I d-don't like b-birds." He finished, before turning back to Madison. Hopefully she wouldn't be too mad at him for answering the witch.

"Ice c-cream sounds nice." The boy admitted, trying not to look too troubled by the words of the other girl. They weren't nice, but there wasn't a lot Finley could do about his stutter, he'd tried, but the speech therapists didn't really help. "C-can I have b-blueberry, please?" Finley asked Madison, tucking his hands in to his pockets in an effort to make himself smaller, less of a target to anyone else.

Emi smiled at the boy as he was finally able to make out his name. His stuttering problem didn't bother her, in fact, she almost found it cute and his looks helped him out quite a bit too. "It's nice to meet you Finley, I'm Emilia." She smiled warmly. Not long after, she heard an obnoxious laugh come from the other girl and a very harmful question, followed by a bunch of less harmful questions, she guessed to lighten the impact of what had just occurred. Emi was just about to turn to the girl and tell her how rude that was when another girl came and stood by Finley.

Emilia listened as the girl spoke to Hailey and she felt almost sad. This had all been her fault, if she would've just left him alone, Hailey wouldn't have gained an enemy and she wouldn't have to choose between the two. She looked to Hailey and then to the older girl and back to Finely who seemed to not want the older girl to worry about anything as well.

As Finley answered Hailey's questions, Emilia smiled. "I'm a first year and I like purple." she mimicked his shrug, "I also don't prefer birds." She smiled to Finley and the girl who offered her to go get ice cream with them. She realised, however, she'd yet to pick out a flavour.

Looking past Finley's shoulder, she looked to the list of flavours and decided on a flavour called banana pudding and that's what she'd ordered. She tossed a couple of the weird coins to the man and came back over near Finely. Not wanting to have to choose just yet who to befriend, she merely replied, "I have to get back to my father," she pointed to where he'd been sitting reading the paper, "so we can finish school shopping."

She made sure to say goodbye to Hailey and Finley and the other girl before walking over to her father. "See you guys later," she waved one last time to the little group before her father got up to lead her out the door.

Excitement (Open) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Excitement (Open)   Excitement (Open) EmptySat Apr 18, 2015 8:44 am

Hailey was about to cry. And not only did she realize what she said was really wrong, but a girl had came up and insulted her face and that upset her to no end. When the girl who confronted and insulted her started saying awful things about Hailey, she now realized how Finley felt when she commented very rudely about his voice. She gave a pouty lip, and almost ran off crying, but thought that the aliens would not be very happy if she didn't stand up for what was right, and forgive herself. She would not be happy if the aliens abducted her now right before she was off to a magical school where aliens were probably located.

Hailey looked up and said, "I'm sorry. I realized it was wrong right after I said it. That's why I bombarded him with so many questions... Please don't hate me. I can't stand it when people hate me. I'm a terrible person. The aliens should just come and abduct me RIGHT NOW." And with that, Hailey turned and looked at the sky as if a flying saucer was going to come and eat her up at that moment. She opened her eyes wide and yelled, "I DON'T DISERVE TO LIVE! TAKE ME NOW!" At that moment, the entire store was looking in their direction. But Hailey didn't really care. She could get away with making a scene due to her adorableness. But aliens didn't care about adorableness. So she was lost there. If she was abducted, she was screwed.

Hailey had her eyes closed, and peaked threw one eye to see Finley, and the other girls reaction. Then got on the floor, and just laid down. Right there in the middle of the store. At that point, she was pretty sure that the store was crowded with potential first years, and she was pretty much screwed at making friends. But she didn't back down. Hailey stayed on the floor and yelled again, "TAKE ME MY ALIEN FRIENDS. LET ME LIVE WITH YOU." Yep... Hailey was pretty sure she would be friendless until the day she graduated. But if Finley would forgive her, that was all that mattered.
