The news around school of the disappearances of two of the students had provided the perfect cover for the smashing of Professor Harrington's greenhouses. The school had awoken to two students missing and the grounds tarnished. Josh had to bite back a smirk at the stupidity of the teaching body for believing such things.
Though nobody had moved to fix it.
The Slytherin had a bandage around his hand now, after extracting the shards of glass from his hand, the boy had simply covered it. The Healer would ask too many questions, and he didn't trust his left hand to perform the spell as aptly as necessary. The pain wasn't bothering him anyway.
Instead of waiting for idiots to get to the clean up, Josh made his way down to the greenhouses after lessons on the Thursday afternoon. The smashed glass remained in clear view, and Josh winced slightly at his idiocy. There was going to be much and more he needed to do, it would seem. Slipping his wand from his belt, Josh walked around the greenhouse, repeating the spell to fix the greenhouse and watching the shards move back in to place. His Azalea would likely know of the attack, but she wouldn't know the lie behind it.
It took a good hour to piece the three greenhouses back together. Back together and clean the glass so that it shone in the February sunlight. Josh could have left it there, could have slipped back in to the castle unnoticed, but the greenhouse was more than the glass framework.
Opening the door to the greenhouse, Josh looked at the many different specimens of plant that were led out. Wilting. Dying. Josh had never been sentimental towards the plants, but his Azalea was, and that was enough to spur him on. Taking off his blazer and lying it on the witch's desk, Josh turned to the task at hand, rolling his shirt sleeves up.
It would take the Slytherin through the night to work on each area of plants in the three green houses, working carefully through what each one would need to restore them to health once more. Water, nutrients, warmth, light. Josh used every spell he could think of to make the plants survive.
It was around four in the morning, as Josh waited for the last vine to respond to him that Josh passed out on the floor of the Herbology greenhouse. Muddy, bruised and sweaty from the work with more than a handful of deadly plants. The Slytherin didn't feel the vine pull the blazer over him to keep him warm, Josh was beyond tired, but it was worth it. If only to keep Azalea happy, saving all of her plants was worth it.
