Classroom Library (Open) Empty
PostSubject: Classroom Library (Open)   Classroom Library (Open) EmptyTue Apr 21, 2015 7:54 am

Aimee walked into the shop, her hand holding onto her tiny four month belly. She was now officially wearing maternity clothes, like what she had on today. She was shocked by the amount she'd grown. It was like she had nothing yesterday and then all of a sudden, bam, a bump. The baby kicked often now, she couldn't always feel it, but when she did, it caused her to smile. She wasn't very fond of this baby at first, but eventually, once she saw the first ultrasound and heard the tiny racing heart, she fell in love with the beautiful monster. Just yesterday, she and Dylan had to chance to see their baby once again, and learn that it was a she. They were ecstatic and they chose the name Mackenzie Eleanor O'Brien.

Aimee walked up and down the aisles, searching for some books to add to her classroom library. She enjoyed pleasure reading and she hoped her kids would too. Her classroom library would be accessible to those who finish their work earlier as well as those who chose to "check-out" a book. She trusted them to bring them back, and if they didn't, all she had to do was a simple Accio spell and she'd have it in her hand. Aimee had a lot of trust, as she often saw the good in people.

As she stood there, flipping through books, she felt people shuffle past her. She wasn't exactly as small as she used to be so she took up more room, which caused her to feel bad. Grabbing an armful of books, she walked over to a table and sat across from someone, careful to set her books down as quietly as possible so she wouldn't disturb anyone. As she flipped through more books, Mac began to kick her, causing a small smile to grow on her face and her hand to instinctively touch her stomach.

The summer was going much quicker than Daniel could have expected. The hunt for new teachers was taking up much of his time, as well as preparing lessons he hoped to be interesting for the new year. He wasn't overly confident on the numbers he would get for his Runes class, but he knew that for those who did want to come to his lessons, he would make it worth their while.

Today, however, he was on private business, shopping for his nephew.

Theo was interested in Hogwarts, and despite the Jameson's large library, there weren't many books for a boy of Theo's age. So Daniel had decided to try and find something much more interesting for the boy to work with. And hopefully something on creatures too.

Spoiling Theo was perhaps one of Daniel's flaws in the new dynamic, but Daniel found it growing harder and harder not to want to give him everything in the world. But Daniel had grown distracted by a Runes book, and after taking it to the table to read a little more, he'd become immersed in the Runes he'd loved for a long time.

This meant he'd barely noticed that someone had sat down before him until he looked up a little, noting a woman much younger than himself before him. Caressing her stomach that swelled with the hope of new life. Daniel couldn't help but smile to himself at the gesture. "Congratulations." He murmured across the table, motioning to her stomach in explanation to what he was talking about. "I hope it all goes smoothly for you." He added, giving the witch a smile and then looking back to his book.

Best not to disturb people.

When the man she'd sat across from congratulated her and gave her his best wishes, she smiled and thanked him. It was a first. Mostly, she got rude looks because she was really young, or looked younger than she actually was. She noticed he was reading a book on Runes, which wasn't the most interesting subject in the world to her but it was mediocre. She herself, had picked out a book on dragons and one on hippogriffs, plus several others with various different subjects. Despite the fact that the books were for her classroom library, she may enjoy leisurely reading them as well.

She felt terribly rude sitting there invading this man's space but not introducing herself. She glanced up at him as he read his book. Biting her lip, she spoke up, "I'm Aimee," she gave him a small, friendly smile. He seemed nice and he had great looks, though no one would ever look as good as Dylan but that was because he was her boyfriend and the father of her unexpected daughter. At the thought of her daughter, she felt the kicks once more, having tuned them out before to focus on the man. She also, felt the familiar pang of hunger, the pang that constantly followed her around despite whether she recently ate or not.It actually grew to become quite irritating. Sighing internally, she tried to focus on her book.

The thank you from the witch brought a small smile to Daniel's lips. His eyes trailed to her stomach once more before he returned to his book. He didn't want to be rude, but he hadn't really seen a pregnant women before. Not so close, and definitely not in such a tender manner.

He'd just gotten back in to the section on elemental runes when the witch spoke once more, introducing herself to him. "Daniel, Daniel Jameson." He supplied to the witch, taking note of her books and then placing the name from his records. "You're the Care of Magical Creatures professor, right?" Daniel asked, hoping he'd put the right two pieces together, otherwise it was going to be embarrassing for him.

"When is the baby due, if you don't mind me asking?" Daniel asked, looking from the bump to the witch once more. He was truly fascinated, and he probably shouldn't have been for a man in his thirties, but Pureblood men were always kept away from such things because of the idea of it being inappropriate or some crap.

Daniel Jameson.

The name sounded familiar and when he asked her if she was the Care of Magical Creatures professor, she placed the name. The Headmaster of Hogwarts. Giving him a proper smile, she answered him, "Indeed I am." She wondered whether the books she was reading, or attempting to read gave it away or if he actually just remembered her name. Aimee, was a fairly common name especially since she never told him her surname, meaning he saw the books and place her first name, which was genius. She wondered if he was formerly a Ravenclaw, he seemed smart enough to have been, though, in her experience, the Headmaster was usually a former Gryffindor, though she was unsure why.

"I don't mind it at all," she replied shortly. She was actually surprised someone asked her. It seemed like she was invisible to most people or that they just didn't care. "She's due to come in late December." She couldn't believe how much time had flown and how little time she seemed to have left. It seemed like just yesterday she was telling Dylan she was 2 months and now all of a sudden, she was over halfway done with her pregnancy and they were having a daughter and she was named and growing and her abdomen was a clear sign of that.

Daniel was quite glad he'd placed the woman correctly, it would have been slightly embarrassing if he'd been wrong. But, he also hoped that in remembering her, she would find him more approachable in the future. Hopefully. He didn't want to be the scary kind of Headmaster, to student or colleague, he wanted to be a good Headmaster.

But only time would tell on that one.

The answer that came about the baby brought a smile to his lips. To him there was nothing more... magical than children, it was a goal he was hoping to achieve at some point, but he was aware that he couldn't at the moment. "December... Wow that's close!" Daniel responded, smiling at the thought. "Do you know what you're having? Or are you waiting for the surprise?" Daniel asked, hoping he wasn't pushing things with his questions.

It was adorable to see him so interested about it, even with him being Headmaster, it didn't mean he had to be interested in her life, but he seemed to be. It eased all her nerousness about Hogwarts. For awhile, she worried about what her superiors would be like and now that she had the chance to meet him, she was relieved. He was nice and caring or that's what she'd gathered thus far. When she saw him smile after she gave her due date, she returned it. She smiled even more as he asked more about her pregnancy and impending daughter.

"It is very close," she wouldn't admit how nervous she felt. Neither would she admit how unprepared she was, because she didn't want to think about it. She didn't want to think about how much her life was about to change and how she'd no longer be a Valentine because her family would disown her for eternity. Her daughter would never get the chance to meet her maternal family, and it was her fault. Instead of continuing to think, she looked back to Daniel, "It's a girl." They had wanted to be surprised, but they couldn't wait, it was too long to wait so they found out what it, she was. "Mackenzie, will be her name." she added. Putting a name to the baby made it all seem so much more real. The baby was real, this life was real, her teaching position was real, all of it was real.

The information on the child being a little girl made Daniel smile a little more. He had always wanted a little girl of his own, of course, his family would want a boy to continue his line, but Daniel wasn't as interested in the Pureblood world as he'd been when he was much younger.

The name wasn't one he would have chosen, if he was honest, but it was nice enough. "Well, I wish you luck with all of it. And, hopefully, you will have your little girl in time for Christmas!" Daniel told the witch, turning his attention back to his book. There wasn't much more to say on the subject, and Daniel had some work to do.

Of course, he would speak if spoken to, but he didn't push the conversation because there wasn't much of a need for it.

She smiled to him, "Thank you," she replied kindly. She hoped she'd have Mackenzie by Christmas, or even better, in Christmas. It'd complete her little family and be the best present anyone could ask for. Though, she only wished for it to happen if Mackenzie was ready and healthy. She didn't want her daughter to have to stay in the hospital in order to build up strength to live outside of the hospital. That was every mother's fear. She watched him turn back to the book and immediately felt bad for taking up so much of his time.

When another question came to mind, she tried to ignore it but couldn't. "How long have you been Headmaster?" He seemed young which had been why Aimee was so curious, though, most of her students would probably think she was young as well. Aimee was twenty one, meaning if lucky, she'd only be three to four years older than the oldest Hogwarts students, depending on when their birthday fell.

She wondered if she'd actually feel out of place at Hogwarts and whether it had been a mistake or not, but then, she decided that was an absurd thought. Hogwarts was a home for everyone. Everyone was welcome, and so was she and Mackenzie.

Daniel had managed to just about get back in to his Runes, checking over the elemental features to start with. Ten years away from the subject had made him a little rusty, but he was more than qualified for the task of teaching the class. And, as he read it was flooding back to him, thankfully, much quicker than he'd anticipated.

However, there was a small disruption in his progress as the witch opposite him asked him a question. Looking up from his book once more, Daniel thought about it for a moment. "About... eight months?" Daniel explained, though he couldn't quite remember exactly. "I started about half way through the last year." He added in explantion for it not being a full year just yet.

"I've still got a lot of work ahead of me to get Hogwarts back up to its old standards though." He added, before giving a small shrug - a shrug that would have made his mother feel sick, but he didn't much care for her ideas of 'normality'.
