With all of the students packing up for the winter break, Winter decided to go check on the ones who would have to stay for a few more hours until healed completely. There weren't many, at most only four or five, since the kids were pretty good at taking care of themselves. Still, Winter hoped for the kids to get better as she wanted more than anything to go visit her family. She wanted to hug Charlie until she was tired of hugging him for all eternity, and to help River with whatever it was he needed, and to kiss her parents goodnight every day. As the kind of person Winter was, she couldn't help but be crazy about her family. She walked into the Hospital Wing with her hair up on a bun and with her day clothes on, a pair of jeans and a green hooded sweatshirt. There were, in fact, only three more students laying in beds. She must have dismissed the others in the morning.
The first one was a girl in her first year, quite typical as it was the youngest who tended to get injured. She had tried to perform the levitating charm by herself but things had ended badly when she accidentally lit part of her bed on fire, causing some mild burns to herself. Winter smiled st her and noticed the bottles of oils she had prepared for her were there. "Here," Winter said, walking up to her and taking the bottles in her hands. "This one is for the burning sensation. You rub it as if it were baby oil every time it stings." She handed her the bottle with the white, oily liquid inside and then held up a bottle with clear oil. "This one is for the itching. Use it every morning and night and morning and you shouldn't have to scratch throughout the day." she handed the bottle to the girl and held up the last one, a dark one with a magenta-colored liquid inside. "Drink this every morning with your breakfast and the scars should be gone in no time." she smiled. As the girl thanked her, Winter allowed her to go pack up for the break.
The next kid was a Ravenclaw Beater in his Sixth Year who had broken his nose accidentally during a game. His nose had been healed instantly, but he was still apparently in too much pain to even stand up from the bed. Checking to see if he was drinking the potion she gave him, Winter smiled as she realized he had not drunk any of it. He was lying in order to not get back to his classes and duties, as she suspected. "I want you out of here by seven." she said to him as he looked back at her guiltily, a nervous grin on his face.
The last student was another boy, this time a Third Year who had gotten himself a few broken bones after trying to get too close to the Whomping Willow. Part of a dare, he had explained. He was walking out of the Hospital Wing with a cast on each limb, that was for sure. The damages were too much to heal in a day, so Winter would have to stay back at the school until he healed completely. Smiling at him as he slept and walking past, Winter reached her small office in which she recorded the progress of the remaining kids and tried to look for the names of the Third Year's parents to let them know of his condition. She had begun to write out only a few sentences when a knock at her door startled her.
