Helen grew up in a Pureblood family and is the heiress to the Masters wealth. As a child, she was expected to stay quiet and look pretty. Her Mother used to take her with her to Sunday lunches with other important ladies and Helen had to smile politely and curtsy, even though she felt like throwing cupcakes in the women's faces. She felt like she was being treated like a decorative poodle, not a child. When she tried to talk to her parents about it, they shushed her and told her children are to be seen, not heard.
She had lessons for being a 'proper young lady', where stiff old women taught her how to dance, order people around in a lady-like manner and, later on, how to wear high heels and put on make-up like an expert.

At Hogwarts, she was expected to excel and so she did. She thought high grades would make her parents like her and maybe care for her, but that didn't happen. When she got the highest O.W.L.s in her class, they only nodded coldly and told her to get dressed and make sure she looks pretty. It was then that Helen realized her parents only wanted a daughter so they could show her off and so that they had an heir.

She decided she didn't really want to contribute to that, so she started slacking off in school and getting into trouble. Her best friend had been Theo Capulet, another pureblood in Slytherin and they used to sneak out together to go to Hog's Head. His family lived in France though and when they graduated from Hogwarts, he had to go back to France on his Father's wishes.

Helen ended up alone with her disappointed parents and when they tried to marry her off in an arranged marriage, she had enough. She took her possessions and ran off to live with her Great Aunt Lexi, who had always been supportive of rebellion. Lexi helped her get a job as a waitress in a nearby pub and Helen soon realized that that was what she wanted to do. She worked hard for three years, so she got the money she needed, moved to Spain and opened up her own pub.

She went to Spain to escape her parents who had been very passive aggressive during the years she lived with Lexi and to get away from England, which she found bleak and boring. Spain was amazing, there were beautiful people almost everywhere, gorgeous beaches and she didn't have to wear much clothing. It was like heaven. After four years though, trouble began stirring. There was a civil wizarding war and Helen had to flee to avoid getting captured and tortured.

Luckily, Great Aunt Lexi was more than happy to welcome her back. Helen didn't want to stay there, though she loved Lexi. She asked around and found that there was a pub for sale, on a wizarding university campus. Helen moved out of Lexi's mansion, fixed up the pub a little bit and moved in a flat in London.

Agatha Sørensen and Richard Masters were betrothed to one another to merge two powerful pureblood families. Agatha grew up in Norway and was raised as a perfect young lady, who was both lovely and powerful. Richard came from a long line of English purebloods and was raised with loads of internalized misogyny.

They didn't really like or respect one another, but they were both stubborn enough not to admit it. They thought they owed something to their families and so they persevered in the marriage, but they couldn't bring themselves to have more than one child. Over the years, they came to respect each other and they learned how to act as a unit and to coexist without any major incidents. They were both highly disappointed in Helen and were still working on making her come back and serve as the Masters heiress.
