Strengths: - Creativity and imagination. Stephen is a dreamer who likes to think outside the box and create pretty things. - Empathy. Stephen is a pure cinnamon roll sweetheart in general who just likes to help people.
Weaknesses: - His shyness can get in the way of asserting himself. - He is quite insecure about not being very book smart, especially since the Han clan are known to produce geniuses such as his cousins Eun Jae and Eun Soo. - Too trusting. - Hopeless romantic to a fault.
Positive traits: - Dreamer/Optimistic Idealist - Helpful - Kind and strives to see the best in people - Loyal - Open-minded
Negative traits: - Has head in the clouds - Terrible attention span - Secretive, keeps emotions to himself even if he encourages other people to share emotions - Stubborn, especially when in love Background Han Sung Jin and Park Sun Young's match may have been deliberately planned and arranged by their parents, but the love between them was real. Sung Jin would even say that it was love at first sight—when he first saw Sun Young perform a dance at the opening ceremony of his sixth year in the Wizarding Academy, he was incredibly smitten. Though it would be years before they eventually got together, Sun Young had always liked her handsome sunbae (upperclassman) back. They eventually got married in 2002, and Han Se Hun was born two years later.
It was perhaps Se Hun's parents' passionate love for each other that turned him into quite a romantic himself. Growing up, he read both Asian and Western fairy tales, and though he disliked the gender roles in such stories, they influenced him to desire a 'happily ever after' for himself. His creative, romantic soul was eventually seen as a 'Han anomaly' by his more 'left-brained' cousins, who were all destined to take over the various businesses under the Han multinational empire. Se Hun, in turn, was repulsed by the idea of having a destiny, and so he decided at eight years old that he would not let himself fall into the trap of relying on fate and destiny in order to live his life.
Things changed when a month before Se Hun turned nine. Sung Jin and Sun Young were on a business meeting in Wizarding New York when the meeting was attacked by their partners' former employees. Though the business partners ended up coming out unharmed (except for some hexes and curses which they could heal), Sun Young and Sung Jin died fighting to protect people they barely knew. For months, Se Hun refused to speak to anyone, and the therapist had to deal with his cold silence. Though Uncle Sung Ho took him in and did his best to help the child, Se Hun had shut down, and it would be a long time before he could smile again.
The first time he smiled was when Eun Soo was home for the winter holiday. He was walking around the Han rest house in Jeju when snow hit the back of his head. Startled, Se Hun immediately turned around, only to see a smiling Eun Soo waiting for him to retaliate. At the time, he was almost ten years old, and Eun Soo was 20. Perhaps it was Eun Soo's smile, or how she never treated him like the Han anomaly. Whatever it was, it made Se Hun smile a bit as he formed a snowball to throw back at his older cousin. By the time they were tired and covered in snow, Se Hun was laughing. That night, Eun Soo listened as he cried and talked about missing his parents. He showed her his paintings, and she told him that his parents would be so proud. It was the first time Se Hun heard a cousin tell him that.
Since then, Se Hun looked up to his cousin for reasons other than her reputation in the Wizarding Academy. He vowed to himself that he would be kind, sweet, and helpful to other people, and that he would someday marry someone who was as good as his cousin. On his tenth birthday, he asked for uncle to allow him to study abroad, since the idea of going to the school where his parents met was too painful for him. Sung Ho, who also deeply missed his younger brother, could empathise with how his nephew felt. They eventually decided on Hogwarts, since Se Hun could speak English better than Japanese and Mandarin, and he did not want to go to a school in America. Family Mother: Sun Young Park (박선영) / 42 / Deceased / Pureblood Witch Father: Sung Jin Han (한성진) / 45 / Deceased / Pureblood Wizard Family Background
The Han family, whose Sino-Korean surname can mean either 'country' or 'leader', are a noble family who can trace their ancestry to as far back as the Silla Dynasty (57 BC-935 AD). They come from the Cheongju Han clan, who were considered seonggol or 'sacred bone' (the highest ranking nobility). While the Cheongju Han clan produced six queens during the Joseon dynasty, other members of the clan produced some of the brightest witches and wizards in Korean history. They managed to maintain the pureblood line by marrying witches and wizards from other noble clans in Korea, although very few pureblood families now remain in both North and South Korea.
When the Japanese occupation ended and Imperial Korea fell, the well-respected Hans adjusted to the times by studying technology until they managed to build the Han empire of multinational electronics corporations in the muggle world. In the wizarding world, the Han family owns a technomancy gadgets business and various hospitals with booming research and development fields. They also often collaborate with the Korean wandmaker family and the Quidditch supplies family.
Most members of the Han family take over the different businesses under their multinational corporations, although a few have been known to follow their own paths which usually lead to fighting injustice regardless of their career and position. This is perhaps because the Han family are descendants of the hero Gija, a Shang Dynasty king, and various generals from the Joseon Dynasty.
