Just walking around (Open) Empty
PostSubject: Just walking around (Open)   Just walking around (Open) EmptyThu Mar 31, 2016 2:42 pm

Walking around, that was what Arden was doing and somehow he ended up in the Dungeons. He didn't really like coming down here because he tried to avoid the snotty Slytherins who thought they were too good for everyone else. He didn't like people like that, he hated being treated like he was worth nothing when that wasn't true. Arden sighed and just kept on walking, he wanted to get out of the Dungeons as fast as possible but he didn't want it to look noticeable. He wondered where his sister was at but he didn't know, she had a mind of her own and he was fine with that as long as she wasn't in any kind of danger.

Arden kept walking and he wasn't anywhere close to the end of the Dungeon but he kept his pace the same. If he ran into a Slytherin that was fine, but right now he just wanted to leave this part of the school.

Things had been going well, not just with Finley, but with Nirek, too. The foolish boy had genuinely believed that Madison had a crush on him, when the thought of it made her want to gag. Still, it was a hand hold - a leverage - and she would use it to her advantage without feeling guilty in the slightest. After all, if people were that stupid, they deserved to be used.

Now, though, she would need to plan even more carefully, making sure to make full advantage of this interesting piece of development without endangering Finley. So, heading down to her common room for some peace and quiet in which to think, Madison was deep in thought.

But as she continued down the hall, she couldn't help but notice something odd. A Ravenclaw. Internally, she raised her eyebrows. There weren't many of those folk that dared to wander down here, even if they had good reason to - usually, that involved dating a Snake. However, Madison had ears and eyes everywhere, and all the gossip in the common room reached her one way or another (if she wasn't the one starting the rumour, that is) and she was pretty sure this Ravenclaw was not together with any of the girls.

Naturally, therefore, her interest was peaked. Before deciding what to do, Madison wanted to initiate contact, building up a profile of the male so she could figure out her course of action. So, approaching him, she put on her best smile. "Hey there," she greeted, as she approached, but made no sign of slowing down, instead making as though to move past the male.

Arden continued to walk until he heard a voice. He thought he was the only one down here at the moment but apparently not. When a blonde haired female who looked younger then him stopped in front of him, he noticed she was a Slytherin. He was hoping he didn't run into one but of course his prayers have not been answered. Arden gave a head nod before talking. "Hello" he greeted. His mother always taught him to be polite, especially to a lady and that is what he was doing. There was no fakeness in it, he didn't like being rude to the opposite sex unless it had to do with his sister.

Arden didn't know what this girl wanted but by the looks of it, she meant business or she was observing him and wondering why he was down here in the first place. The only time people came down here really is if they were dating a Slytherin or if they were a Slytherin. Or Prefect, either one of those really. The Ravenclaw waited to hear what the blonde female had to say to him. He was kind of curious now.

As Madison moved past him, she didn't bother slowing down, wondering if he would interact with her first. It was always interesting when people initiated things, for it was when she could get a good read on them. But when the male said nothing, she decided that it was best she made the first move. After all, she didn't want to have to waste such a good opportunity as this one. A lone Ravenclaw was just too tempting an offer to pass up.

So, stopping in her movements, she turned a little. "Are you looking for someone?" she inquired, making sure that her tone was friendly and void of any hidden connotations. "If they're from my house I can go call them for you," she added, further reinforcing the friendly demeanour she had going. For now, she merely wanted to observe and take notes, and people tended to let their guards down when they thought they were in the company of someone nice.

But Maddie knew that 'nice' wasn't something she was; it was something she faked, and something easily believed. She had her mother's innocent looks to thank for that. She kept a small smile on her face and waited for a reply, though, not once betraying her inner thoughts of possible manipulation.

Arden watched as she spoke to him, he never let his guard down unless he really knew someone and this girl and him were not friends so he knew when to keep his mouth shut and when not to. When she asked if he was down here visiting someone, he shrugged. "Not really, my sister's common room is in the Dungeons but she is busy so I am walking around just for the hell of it. So no need to go out of your way to get anyone" he didn't know if this girl knew who is sister was or not, but his guess was no because his twin wasn't really sociable when it came to people.

As for Arden he was and tried getting his sister out of the kick but it wasn't working right now, but hopefully it will one day because he'd never stop trying.

To anyone else, it would have just been idle conversation, something said to break the ice or introductions, but to Madison, everything the boy said was information. Carefully tucked away, it could prove to be very useful to her (and now, her twin as well), and Maddie didn't let a thing he said slip by. Already she knew his sister - whoever she was - was most likely a fellow Snake.

Which automatically meant Madison would know her - or, at least, know about her. Slytherin was her house and where most of her allies would be made and found, so she made it her business to know the whos, whats, and wheres of the people in her house. Hows weren't as important, so unless she needed more specific information, knowing names, ages, and personalities were enough for starters.

Nodding, she decided to press further. "Who's your sister?" she asked, keeping her tone casual and amiable. There was no harm in finding out, and besides, if she later found out this particular Ravenclaw was smart, she could always befriend the sister and use that as leverage to get help for any homework she didn't feel like doing.

For some reason this young Slytherin was curious, not by the questions but by her eyes. They shown like they were curious and he could tell that she absolutely was. He didn't know why, it wasn't like the two of them were besties or anything, he just met this young girl and now she was asking questions. He didn't know why but he was going to watch what he said around this girl. He didn't trust Slytherins, not really no. They were all vindictive in a way and always back stabbed someone.

"Audrina Snow, she is a fifth year Hufflepuff. But like I said she is busy so I try not to bother my twin" he knew how his twin sister was when she was bothered. She'd get real mad and start flipping out. He didn't want that, he hated being on the other end of his sister's anger, it wasn't pretty nor fun.

At the information of his sister - far more details given than she had asked, which was always a good thing - she couldn't help but feel slightly disappointed. She had hoped that his sister was a Slytherin, like herself, but it had just not been so. But that begged the question of why the male was skulking around here and not the kitchens. Did he have ulterior motives after all?

From what she could tell, though, he seemed easy to read - most people were, for Maddie - and there were no signs of any hidden agendas. And yet, Madison was suspicious, and kept her guard up at all times, making sure to double her efforts into appearing innocent. After all, he had lied about the location of his sister's common room's whereabouts; the Badgers house was located in the corridor of the kitchens, whereas it was the Slytherin house that was found in the dungeons.

The further information about the male being a twin was duly noted and stored away, as was the last name provided. Not many people realised it, but last names were powerful; Purebloods went around bragging about that, for it was what gave them power. Stephanie would just be a bitch if she wasn't a Richardson, and while Josh would've still been immensely powerful, being a Murray added to that.

Why else would she have bothered to seek either of them out in the first place and ensured that she maintained a good reputation among the both of them?

So, she kept the name Snow safely at the back of her mind for further research later on, and instead smiled. "Oh, are you a twin too? That's so cool," she commented lightly, hating the need for idle conversation and time-wasting small talk, but also knowing it was necessary for fishing. And make no mistake, fishing was always a game.

Something still seemed off with this Slytherin girl, he couldn't trust her, he knew that and he was hoping that he could make his escape soon before he went back to his common room. Something about her was untrustworthy and he regretted mentioning his sister, if anything happened to her then he would never forgive himself, never ever will he.

"Yup, twins who are in separate houses but it hasn't been a problem yet" he replied. "I'm guessing you and your twin are in the same house?" He didn't know why he was having a conversation with her because in a way he didn't even care, he just wanted to leave but he kept his guard up so that his facial expression was hard to read. Hell whenever he was in the state, his own sister didn't even know how to read his facial expression and no one was closer then him and his sister so that meant no one could read him.

He told her the obvious, but she nodded and kept her smile up as though she was genuinely interested in what he had to say. If she could feel Professors and practically everyone else in the school, it was no problem to fool just another Ravenclaw. But it did tell her something, though - that, even though they were twins, the male before him and his sister were different in personalities.

Why bother to have a twin if you weren't synchronized? It didn't make any sense, but she didn't comment on that, instead nodding at his question. Making a decision on the spot, she smiled and said, "Actually, Melody was in Beaubaxtons till recently." It would seem like very casual conversation to anyone listening - unless they were like her or Mel and knew the art of manipulation - when, in fact, it had been calculated.

She wanted to see how he'd react, after all. Anyone could be read if you knew what to look out for, and she had spent years learning this. Still, people had their own ways of preventing this, and it was only a game to find out their tells (for everyone had tells).
