The Three Broomsticks was a great place for unwinding during Hogsmeade weekends. Though the quality of the food could be improved, the drinks were alright, and the quaint village pub ambiance was great for conversations. What Felipe liked best about the pub, though, was that it often gave him an opportunity to meet his pretty female schoolmates. More often than not, they flocked around him—he was a Quidditch player, after all, and with good looks to boot. There were times, however, when he had to do the chasing, and it seemed as if with the newest girl he fancied, it was one of those times.
Mei Xin. He had never forgotten her name since they met at The Leaky Cauldron, when he visited his sister over the summer to see how well she had was doing as an assistant cook. Mei Xin, who was working in the pub as a waitress, had accidentally given him the wrong order, and it was because of that mishap that he became acquainted with the most beautiful girl in Hogwarts. And while some girls only had that title for a few days (or even a few weeks at most), Mei Xin managed to linger in his mind. If only she wasn't always with that joke of a Hufflepuff who his sister had also befriended.
The sight of jet black hair and Asian features made Felipe stand up from his usual seat by the window. He wasn't sure if it was her, as she was walking across the street, but to pass up an opportunity to treat her to Butterbeer would forever disturb him, and he just didn't want that. No, he had to figure out why she seemed so... disinterested, why she wasn't as eager to be with him as all those other girls who he ditched after a few boring dates.
Rushing to the door with his mug of Butterbeer, he didn't notice the girl who was standing by. It was only when he felt sticky liquid on his hands that he realised how he had bumped into someone, and how he had soaked that someone in his Butterbeer.
Unfortunately, that someone happened to be Lucy Waters, his ex from hell.
'Merda', he swore under his breath as he fished for a handkerchief in his pocket. A quick glance at the window showed him that the dark-haired girl was gone. Sighing, he handed his handkerchief to his ex-girlfriend. He had always avoided running into her, which was rather difficult given how they were both in Slytherin, but there was no excusing himself out of this mess. 'I'm so sorry, gattina,' he said as he picked up some tissue paper from the table and tried to dab at the stain on her shoulders. He hadn't realised how he had called her 'gattina', which was a term of endearment he used whenever they fought as a couple. 'I was in a hurry. Mi dispiace.' [Translation: 'Merda' - Shit, 'Gattina' - My little cat, 'Mi dispiace' - I'm sorry.]
