Zoey walked down the stairs from the Ravenclaw tower towards the Great Hall. She smiled as she passed a few friends of hers in the hallway. As she entered the Great Hall she made her way towards the Ravenclaw table and sat down. It was lunch time, so there weren't as many people as there usually were for breakfast or dinner, so finding a seat was relatively easy. She sat down and a plate appeared before her. She piled her plate with chicken legs, mashed potatoes, dinner rolls and filled her cup with pumpkin juice. She smiled as she began to eat, she loved the food here at Hogwarts, it was always cooked to absolute perfection. She looked around the giant room to see who was there. She smiled at her friend Rebekah when she saw her at her table with a few of her housemates then continued to look around

A new school year was here, and Dimitri had settled in to the flow quite nicely. Being in his sixth year, Dimitri was kind of in limbo between his O.W.L.S. and his N.E.W.T.S. It was a weird year, that left a lot of questions unanswered. But, he was enjoying the slacking that he could get away with whilst he could.

With lunch being served, Dimitri moved in to the Hall with a few of his friends, but they split ways when it came to heading to their respective house tables. Sitting on the Ravenclaw bench, Dimitri filled up a plate with food and began to tuck in. He wasn't particularly in the mood for conversation, much too ravenous to even begin to contemplate talking at the same time.

But, should someone come to him with conversation... then he would most certainly work with that, too.

Zoey turned to her left when one of her fellow housemates sat beside her. She smiled sat him "Hello." She said softly. She knew him, since he was in her house, even though he was a bit older than her. He was a 6th year while she was just a 4th year. She pushed her hair out of her face and smiled at him "You are Dimitri, right?" She asked. She was pretty sure that was his name. He seemed like he did not really want to initiate a conversation, but he didnt seem the type to turn away if someone started on with him. So thats what she decided to do. She was always up for making new friends, that was part of the whole school experience. To meet people and make friends. She sipped her pumpkin and a small grin spread across her face as the cold liquid ran over her taste buds. She loved it.

Dimitri had just about tucked in to his food, savouring the taste - the House Elves from home could learn a thing or two from those at Hogwarts - and losing himself in his own thoughts. Lessons, homework, trivial things that certainly didn't do anything to compel the mind to leaving the hall that was offering a tonne of beautifully made food.

However, Dimitri's internal organising was brought to an end quite soon on when the witch opposite him sparked up conversation.

"Hi." Dimitri replied with a small smile once he'd finished his mouthful. The witch - whom he assumed to be younger - seemed to know who he was, and Dimitri had to raise an eyebrow slightly at that. As far as he was aware, the girl before him was not a Pureblood. If she were, he would have some connotation as to who she was. This therefore made her a Halfblood, or Muggleborn.

"I am." Dimitri replied to the witch. "However, I'm afraid I'm at a disadvantage... who might you be?" He asked, using a small, gentle smile to hopefully soften the blow. He knew it wasn't the nicest of things to admit. But... if you didn't know someone, you didn't know someone.

Zoey giggled a bit as he asked who she was. She was not hurt or upset at the fact that he did not know who she was. She usually kept to herself when it came to most of the older students, besides Rebekah that is. "Im Zoey, Zoey Kingsley. 4th year." She said pushing her hair out of her face.

She took a small bite of food before turning back to him "So how is your day going so far?" She asked as she sipped her drink. She looked around a bit and saw Rebekah staring at her and Dimitri. She watched her friend smirk and wink at her which made her blush profusely.

She turned back to Dimitri not sure what to say. After a while she thought of something "What classes do you have today?" She knew it was unlikely for her to have many classes with him, due to being in a different year, but she figured it could not hurt to ask, maybe they could help each other study or help out with homework.

"Zoey..." Dimitri echoed, smiling at that. "It suits you." He added, meaning that as a compliment - not that it was easy to compliment names, but he could but try in that moment. "Ah, I'm in my Sixth." Dimitri replied, now making sense of the fact he wasn't one hundred percent sure on who the witch was.

As Zoey took another mouthful, Dimitri took the time to do the same, conversation would run it's course in between, and Dimitri would answer as necessary. And, of course, he hadn't been wrong as the younger witch asked him how his day had been. The boy considered for a moment. "Fair to middling." Dimitri said, using a saying that he had heard, but didn't really use very often. A smile graced his lips,
though, denoting he was playing in that moment. "It's going alright, thank you. Too many boring classes, but what can you do?"

"And you, how is your day going?" He replied, turning the question back on the younger witch.

"I've got Charms this afternoon with Professor Vasquez, I believe." Dimitri replied to the question. "I think that's it..." He added, though he wasn't completely sure. "And you?" He added once again, tucking in to his food, but maintaining a polite level of eye contact.

Zoey smiled at the quote he used, she had hear her father say it a few times to her mother when he came home from work "That is one of my fathers favorite sayings. It never made sense to me as a child, but I understand it now that I am older." She said with a small smile

She shrugged as he asked how her day was going "Its alright. I am still extremely tired. I did not get nearly enough sleep. But I feel the same about the classes. I totally dont want to go today, but I dont have a choice. Being a Ravenclaw, I hold the expectation to do well and want to learn. Which I do most of the time, but not when Im half asleep." SHe said with a small laugh.

When he mentioned his classes she thought about what she had for the day, "Lets see. Today is Wednesday. So I have... Care of Magical Creatures with Professor Jameson, Defense Against the Dark Arts with Newbury and Muggle Studies with Mason." She said before taking a few more bites

As Zoey said her dad said 'fair to middling' Dimitri let out a small laugh - mostly to himself, but who cared. "Well, I'm glad to say that I have an older man's humour." Dimitri replied, chuckling to himself at the idea. Honestly, being compared to someone's dad was not the best thing in the world, but he hadn't taken offence.

"Ah, yes, the lack of sleep. What was it, late night studying, or a book you couldn't put down? Or... was it more someone..?" Dimitri asked, but he was only playing on the last part. Not many people were open about relationships, but Dimitri was. If the girl didn't want to talk about it, he wouldn't press.

The list of classes the younger witch had simply made Dimitri nod along. "Busy day for you then, huh?" Dimitri commented with a small smile. "Good luck!" He added, tucking back in to his food. He allowed a few bites to go by before he spoke again.

"Which subject is your favourite?" Dimitri asked, not the most exciting question in the world, but one that could be worked with, for all intents and purposes.

"Hey, my dad is one of the funniest guys I know." She said trying to reassure him a bit as she giggled softly and looked at him. She then realized that it probably wasnt the best thing to say to someone. She bit her lip and looked down at her empty plate, "Sorry." She said before refilling her plate with desserts. She grabbed cookies and a slice of pumpkin pie and a piece of chocolate cake.

Zoey blushed when he asked her why she had not gotten much sleep "No it was not someone. There is no one to be that someone. It was more of helping a friend get over someone. My friend Rebekah just got long distance dumped. Hes a student at Illvermony in America. He broke up with her so I was helping her till about 5 am."

She laughed a bit and nodded "Yes extremely busy day. Ill need all the luck I can get." She thought for a moment about her classes "I really enjoy muggle studies because I know about it, but I also enjoy potions alot. What about you?"

"He might be, yes, but he is also... a lot older than I am, and I don't like to think that my humour is as good as a middle aged man." Dimitri admitted with another small laugh. When she apologised, Dimitri simply waved it away. "Please, don't worry about it, I am only teasing. If you thought it was a good thing, I'm sure it was exactly that." He told her, a reassuring smile on his lips.

"Long distance... huh." Dimitri commented, a small frown on his features at the idea of how a Hogwarts student got with an Ilvermorny student... that was quite something. But, he didn't really want to go in to the details. Girls were difficult to deal with at the best of times, without them wanting to scream bloody murder because one of their friends had been broken hearted.

"Charms. I have a natural affliction with it." Dimitri admitted. "I've never had an interest in Muggle Studies, but I hear we have a new professor. Maybe... I'll try it next term, or something." Dimitri commented, though he wasn't going to commit to that idea any time soon.
