Nikolaj is a charming and confident Swedish 'Viking' as he likes to think of himself, standing at well over 6 foot tall with a fit and healthy physique that takes a lot of upkeep. He can come across as cocky and self assured but in reality, deep down he is a broken man. Following the death of his beloved wife, Nik does not allow himself to grow close to anyone, and will certainly never trust another soul. Nik is quite calculating when it comes to any interaction with another person and is always weighing up ways in which this interaction will benefit him, either in the immediate time or in any possible future. He likes to make many acquantances whom he can call upon for assistance or favours later on.

As a teacher, Nik is incredibly devoted to getting the best out of his students. For those unwilling to put in the effort he can come across as stern and cold, but those who do make the effort and show that they want to learn will find out just how dedicated Nik can be, happy to take time out of his own personal time to help with homework and personal studies. While his specialty is potions, he will never turn away a student wanting help in any subject field.

I can offer Jake -- he really needs to learn to have some 'me' time and not worry about his kids ALL the time.

Nikolaj is always free to try his luck with Victoria (Jake's sister), but she is quite innocent, and rather fierce.

Can definitely see Jakey being a good drinking buddy for Nik, I imagine he would be good for him - drag him out to the bar and try and cheer him up along with some lady ogling Shocked

, and as they are both teachers I imagine they will see each other around the school so Nik will certainly be aquantanced with him and maybe they could look at some cross-class teaching sometime? Dark potions can be made by Niks class for Jake to teach how to reverse etc or Jake teaches about certain dark magic and curses that Nik could then teach tonics for....

Also - if Nik every meets Victoria you can guarantee some flirtations, I don't think he's going to hold back and probably the more shy and innocent the more fun he would have with it... Razz

Looking at your characters I think Nik and Michelle could probably click quite well - acquantances, fwb etc and perhaps we could try them out meeting up and such - Nik's a bit of a drinker so they could meet initially at Michelle's place of work? Following his history he'd probably avoid getting too involved with Ministry workers such as Adaline as very similar to his wife, also not sure in what context they would know each other as Nik's new to the UK and living primarily at Hogwarts.

Can look at Roxanne being a mentee also following class if you wish Smile

Acquaintances I can offer up Scarlett Waters. She's an auror/alchemy teacher.

Flirtations I could offer up Violet Lynch. She's a uni student studying to become an auror. And is going to become a member of the Nightshades. It would likely not lead anywhere, knowing Violet. But, if per chance it came up in conversation where he went to school... She'd definitely try her hand at getting information about the Dark Arts out of him.

Students to Mentor Probably Anthony Byrne. He's very clever, likes to learn, although incredibly quiet and shy (overshadowed by his older brother and younger sister). Alternatively, I have Ivy Wool, an orphan, a troublemaker who's rather bright when she puts her mind to it. Pretty much any of my student characters (I have quite a lot).

Acquaintances - I guess Grayson? He's the librarian, he'll talk to anyone if they approach him.

Students to mentor - Clara would LOVE some help with her independent potions studies. It's her favorite subject, and she wants to be able to create her own potion at some point, so she would definitely appreciate a professor taking interest and giving her some tips.

~ Alchemy and Potions work quite well together so I could see Nik occasionally making the acquantance of Scarlett - added to the list.
~ I don't know if Nik will have an issue with her still being a student - even though its at Uni. He has a strict line between professionalism and playtime and Violet may be pushing it. She's more than welcome to try with him if she wishes though to get information about the dark arts - he was quite skilled at school.
~ Ivy being the rebellious type I can see Nik taking an interest in... possibly just to reprimand her constantly but if he see's potential he will certainly put in the effort to try and get her to focus. Anthony may not need the help but if Nik felt he did he would offer it.
