This Is The End {Prim and Max} Empty

If there was one thing that Prim knew for certain, it was the fact that she should never allow Max to go into the forbidden forest on his own. No matter how many times she chided her boyfriend, the Gryffindor never listened to her.

Grumbling, the witch wobbled her way out of the Castle and towards the forest, huffing and pouting at the fact that she had to go looking for Max once more. The witch was by no means upset with the wizard but she was annoyed, she had wanted to spend the day with the tall male but here she was, making her way into the forest to get Max so that they could both go down to Hogsmeade to spend the day together.

"I swear to Merlin and Morgana, I will throttle Max when I see him." She grumbled all the way into the forest, her wand in the palm of her hand showing her which way to go.

The forest called to Max today in a greater manner than before. The end of year exams were weighing heavily on the Gryffindor prefect to the point where he was feeling more and more under the weather with the stress of the situation. Primrose had suggested a trip to Hogsmeade that weekend, and deep down the boy knew that she was just making use of the short amount of time they had together before summer break.

But, Max being Max had wanted to go and see his animals. Leaving all of his animals behind over the summer was something that killed him inside, truthfully, with Prim, he could write to her, or go and visit, but no students were allowed on the school grounds during summer.

Max had asked.

The forest had brought a calming aura around Max as he made a short stop at the treehouse he'd built for his own use. Collecting some of the many variety of treats he kept for the copious amount of animals he cared for. With that, the boy had set off deeper in to the Forest, looking out for the signs of his animals.

Buckle let out a squeak upon seeing him, and Max moved to his Bowtruckle tree with the woodlice and fed each of them some of the live bugs before letting Buckle up on to his shoulder before he set off again.

The small pack of Krups were next, and they all gathered around him happily as he handed out the Bonio treats he'd gotten from the store in Hogsmeade. And, it continued on. Deeper and deeper in to the forest, until Max was out of treats.

The Gryffindor had ended up in the darker area of the forest, not somewhere he hadn't been before, but one of the places he didn't ever come to often. The Acromantulas of the forest were not a species Max had managed to befriend, in truth, but he would not stop his search. Buckle never liked such trips, preferring to, instead, slip in to Max's shirt pocket and peak over the top as Max continued to walk.

As it grew darker, though, Max pulled up short, looking around him and... finally feeling at peace this far away from the castle. Away from all those who prodded, and pushed him to do better in class. Letting out a deep sigh, Max looked around the trees, trying to find the Acromantula's he'd spent six years trying to come across with little and less joy. Today... maybe...

To the untrained ear, the scuttling would not have been distinctive enough to detect. But Max heard it. His eyes, however, could not find the magnificent beasts to which it belonged, and he slowly turned on the spot, ignoring the tittering coming from his pocket which denoted Buckle's nervousness in the situation.

Max's heart was starting to race with excitement, turning on the spot in an effort to try to find the source of the noise.

It came from behind, Max would never have been able to defend himself from the attack. The attack that came just as Primrose entered the clearing. "Prim!" Max called out to the witch in the moment just before he felt it happening. Webbing encased his abdomen in that moment, locking his arms to his side as he tried to focus on the location of the spiders.

"We've been waiting for you, Max... And you brought us pudding, too." An unearthly sounding voice said, making Max struggle against his bonds frantically. A spiders web, though, was impenetrable and the struggling did nothing to aid Max in his fight for freedom.

"RUN, PR-"

***

The sound of the crack of bone against bone sounded above the noise of the scuttling of many thousands of spiders. The body of one Maximillian Dave Hollingberry fell from it's full height to the floor only a second later. A second spindle of webbing had been used to break the Gryffindor's neck in that moment, before his body was descended upon many spiders ready to feed from the juices of his body.

A spider never truly 'ate' it's victims.

It simply fed on the blood of it's victims, leaving an empty carcass to be discovered by the hapless wanderers.

Or, in the case of the school, the groundskeeper, who had been sent out in search of the Gryffindor Prefects who had gone missing.

Prim had her wand out and her eyes trained on the foliage of the forest before her, the young woman was swallowing every few seconds, her body taut with trepidation as she slowly followed the pointing wand, her cheeks pale and her eyes wide. It didn't take Prim long to find Max but she had been too late. The scream had alerted her to where her boyfriend was and just as she was arriving at the scene, she gasped, horrified and with eyes as wide as saucers as she watched her boyfriends body flying through the air, his eyes blank and the un-natural angle that his head hung at told that it was snapped, that he was dead.

"MAX!!!!!!!!" The horrifying and blood-curdling tone of voice that escaped her vocal chords was not like hers. Her body was shaking with fright as she held her wand towards the spiders that were eating away at her boyfriend, making her witness the demise of her partner.

Whimpering, the Gryffindor witch limped forward, not paying any attention to the spiders or the fact that they were crowding around her now, ready to take a bit of her. The only thing on her mind was getting close to Max and foolishly hoping that he was still alive.

She didn't even manage to get within a foot of him before her body was restrained by strong cobwebs and as she fought against the restraint, her eyes wide with fear, her thoughts were already telling her to get ready to die. She didn't even bother shooting off any spells from her wand, they wouldn't do any good. She was no good with spells to restrain the spiders and even if she could, she wouldn't probably be able to save her self.

The last thought on her mind was the fact that at least she would be joining Max. The last thing she saw was the dead eyes of her boyfriend and then the spiders swarmed on her.
