DADA: Lesson Three (Years 5-7) - Page 2 Empty

This time Sasha didn't answer any questions there was asked. She was basically too late to reply and she didn't have anything to add to what two Slytherins in this class had said. Anyways when they were said what they need to do there now then she wondered if she could do it even.

Doing it non-verbally seemed a bit hard for Sasha since she hasn't really used spells non-verbally much. So she knew it won't go so well at first. Even if she is already almost at the end. Just one more year after this. She knows she should understand how to do it but then again not everyone learns all spells to do non-verbally.

Anyways the girl looked around the room and wondered what she should make to try to be flying. She decided to go with something easy at first. Well, she decided to go with her own quill, what she had taken from her bag. So she could start from easy. She knew that she might at first not get it right but at least she is willing to try it.

At first try, she of course accidentally whispered the words since she is used to doing it and the quill basically did fly a bit but she dropped soon back to table again. Her second attempt she made it without any whisper or so and well it wasn't so successful. Her third try was already more successful and she kept trying to keep it in the air flying. Quill seemed to be pretty easy one. She knew she needed something harder.

So the girl decided to try it on her textbook but she knew she needs to be more careful with it. She can't break it or she needs to pay the damage she did cause there. She knew that this time she won't really make chairs or desk to fly since it can be a bit of way too dangerous around here.

The girl was hoping that she did good and well she wasn't really sure what objects Jake had thought they will use for this charm. She knew that she was at least trying to do it. Which was probably a good thing.

Janet smiled as she earned points for her house. Jake instructed them to work on their nonverbal spells and Janet nodded, her smile growing wider. She had been working on these most of the previous night, part of the reason she had gotten very little sleep. No time to sleep yet.

She opened her bag and took her DADA book back out, setting it on the floor in front of her and backing up a couple steps. Wingardium Leviosa she thought, and grinned as the book rose a bit, but as she got excited her concentration broke, the book thumping to the ground again. She shook her head and tried again, maintaining her focus determinedly and managed to get it to rise to be even with her chest. She then lowered it slowly back to the ground.

She took several more steps back and pointed her wand again. Accio she thought fiercely. The book flew at her head and she yipped, eyes widening as she shouted at the book, "Protego!" The spell succeeded though it would be rather obvious she hadn't used it non-verbally, not that she cared much as the book bounced off the shield to fall to the floor in front of her.

She glared at the book and tried another spell on it. Alarte Ascendare she thought, and watched as the book bounced up, she lurched forward to catch it before placing it back in her back, looking around to try and think of another spell to try on something in the room.

Jake watched the progress of his students quietly. They were doing well, and this was one of those activities he couldn't really help with. Everything was in the mind, and Jake was not an expert in mind reading. So, he simply waited to see if anyone would need his help upon his desk.

The time ticked by and people were successful. When they completed the spell, Jake would make eye contact before giving them a thumbs up and left them alone. They needed to concentrate, and he wouldn't break that much.

The hour finished sooner than expected, and as the bell rang, Jake clapped his hands to get the attention of the class before they scurried out. "Okay everyone, please make sure that you go over everything we've covered this year, and check through the textbook for revision of topics we've covered in earlier years. Those doing your real exams, best of luck to you all, you know where I am if you need me. To those just doing the year end exams, you'll do fine so long as you read over all the material.

"If I don't see you before, have a fab holiday, and I'll see those of you who are returning next year. For those heading out in to the wider world, the best of luck!" Jake said, before motioning them out of the room.

Class now closed.
