PostSubject: Want some tea?(Adam)   Fri Sep 11, 2015 10:11 pm

Verena wanted to get out of the house, growing up she had been alone because she was an only child and now that she lived on her own, she got bored every now and then. So she got dressed into a pair of ripped black jeans, a white tank top that showed off her curves in all the right places, and a pair of black heeled boots. Her hair was up in a high pony tail and she grabbed her purse. She didn't live far from the tea shop so she decided on walking since it was a nice night out. Not to hot, not to cold, just right.

When Verena got to the tea shop she opened the door and saw there was barely anyone there, due to the fact it was a Friday night and a lot of people where probably out. She took a seat at a booth and looked through the menu that was on the table.

After a busy afternoon in the greenhouses in the grounds of Hogwarts, Adam had decided that it was time to grab some dinner. Whilst he could quite easily get himself some dinner from the school, the professor wanted a little bit of a change of scenery.

With a quick change of his shirt that was a little muddy, and a quick spell to clean himself up, Adam set off towards Hogsmeade. The Three Broomsticks would have been the logical destination for the day, but on passing Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop, he noted the offer in their window for a dinner at a good price. Deciding that was the better option, Adam entered the tea shop noting how quiet it was. That didn't really bother him too much.

Moving to an empty table - next to one occupied by a witch he was sure he knew but couldn't place - Adam opened the menu and took to looking through the options before him.

Verena ordered her herbal tea and a slice of cherry pie with a side of vanilla ice cream. When she heard the door open she looked to see one of the Professors in Hogwarts. She believed his name was Adam Samuels. When he sat down at a table next to her, she couldn't help but wait for him to notice who she was. But when she saw that he didn't recognize her, she smiled and couldn't help but silently laugh. "Well hello there Professor Samuels. How are you doing on this fine night?" Verena asked.

Being Deputy Headmistress was a hard job. She had to make sure that everything was running smoothly and help out the head of the ship with whatever he needed. Also teaching a subject she absolutely loved was a plus for her. She loved being a Professor as well, he made her job so much better and doing something she loved was another reason for being there.

Adam was about halfway through the menu when he was spoken to. Looking up from the menu, Adam smiled as he placed the woman. Of course! "Good evening, Professor Harris!" Adam replied warmly. "Sorry, I didn't see you there." He added, because he hadn't placed her at all. He was sure, however, that she would understand.

"I'm well though." Adam replied to her question. "And you? Are you waiting for someone, if you're not, you're more than welcome to join me!" He continued, politeness being something that came to him very, very easily. "Unless you'd prefer some peace and quiet." Adam added as an after though, not wanting to push his company on to the Deputy Headmistress at all.

His eyes returned to his menu for a brief moment, wondering what to have for his dinner. He settled on a simple homemade pie, sending off his order only a short while later. "Are you having anything of note this evening?" Adam asked after the waiter had left.

When he apologized for not seeing her there, she shrugged it off. "That's no problem Professor, everybody has those days. Trust me I have them mostly about all the time" She replied. She couldn't explain why she had those moments, but she did and that didn't bother her as much.

"I am doing well, thank you Adam... I mean Professor. And I am not waiting for anyone but I will join you" Verena said as she got up from her booth and sat across from him. She didn't really no a lot about Adam but he was a good Professor. "I hate peace and quiet, trust me it isn't fun" she smiled.

When the waiter came back with her tea and pie, she gave her a friendly smiley and a thanks. "Little bit, you?" She asked. Being able to talk to someone was something she was good at.

Adam couldn't help but smile as the witch said it wasn't just him who missed people. Truth be told, when he was in his greenhouse he was in his own little world, and coming back to reality was difficult. Plants were very, very calming and sometimes he wondered why he came away from them. But, that was a matter for another time.

Seeing Verena move over, Adam was quite happy to have some company, if only whilst he was eating, it would stop him from thinking too much about trivial things. "Please, call me Adam, we're not at work now." The man insisted when she corrected herself. There really wasn't much point in formalities now, was there? "Peace and quiet is nice at the right time." Adam replied to the witch's statement. "But in here, probably nicer to have company." He decided.

"Oh, cherry pie? Very sweet." Adam commented when her food came. "I've gone for something a little more savoury, truth be told. I haven't eaten since breakfast. Got a little caught up in my work." Adam admitted, not in the slightest bit ashamed of that. "How has your day been, anyway?"

She could tell that he was happy that she moved over to his table. When he told her to call him Adam outside of work. "Well okay Adam, then please call me Verena then. Its only fair" she smiled at him. When he talked about piece and quiet and how it wasn't really great in a place like this, she couldn't help but laugh a little. "Well you're exactly right about that, I love peace and quiet but not right now" Verena replied.

"Yeah I love Cherry pie, that and apple. Its very delicious and my mother got me addicted to it before I grew up and moved out of there" Verena said. "Adam that's not really healthy you should always eat before you work and all. Honestly being a Professor is hard work so make sure you always eat so you don't pass out" Verena explained. "My day was great, thank you."

Adam listened to the explanation of Verena's likes and dislikes with a small smile. Pies, in his mind, were supposed to be savoury, but he understood why the witch liked sweet dishes. The whole sweet tooth notion came to mind with Adam, but he decided not to say it out loud in case she took offence.

The insistence that forgetting to eat wasn't healthy made Adam smile to himself. The notion of being mothered in that moment was all too familiar. "It's okay. I don't do it often. I was just too busy to realise." Adam assured the witch with a smile, hoping to calm her worries for a few moments.

It was a few minutes later that his own food came, and Adam tucked in without hesitation a moment later. Not too quick to look like a pig, but not too slowly either. Finishing his mouthful, Adam asked. "So, have you got anything planned for the weekend? Or, are you on duty at the school this weekend?"

When he explained he didn't do it often, she couldn't help but worry about one of her Professors at the school. Adam was a nice and concerning man and she loved his personality, but him not eating dinner or anything at all that day was insane. If her parents heard or seen her doing that, they would probably send her to a hospital for being crazy enough to do that. "Well please don't let it happen again. I don't want to be summoned when you pass out in your class for not eating properly, but seriously, don't do that" she was concerned for the man.

She thought about what she was going to be doing this weekend but realized she had nothing fun planned for her. She looked at him and shrugged. "I have no idea yet, I don't really make plans for the weekend because sometimes they fall through."

Adam simply allowed a small laugh at the witch's insistence that he shouldn't miss meals. "I promise it won't happen again. Any time soon, at least." He assured the witch, a smile playing on his lip in that moment. "But, you don't have to worry, I'm not prone to passing out." Adam added, hoping to soothe her a little bit with his words in that moment.

The idea of not making plans made the man frown. "Surely a beautiful woman such as yourself has a home and many friends to go home to, to enjoy the weekend with?" He asked, looking down at his food momentarily and then back to the witch before him. He didn't think a woman of such high standing in the school would be lost for people surrounding her.

To say he was confused by her words would, in all honesty, be highly confusing for Adam.

When he said that it wouldn't happen again anytime soon. She couldn't help but shake her head at his answer. "Well we cannot have that, you must eat always Adam, not just when you feel like it" Verena replied. The young Witch couldn't help but feel worried about the Wizard. "Well that is good but please be safe with all of this stuff Adam" Verena loved helping people out and being able to help Adam was fun.

Verena slowly shook her head and knew what Adam would say. "I'm sorry but I don't have many friends and I am an only child. And ad for a social life, I don't have one" she answered. Verena was the type of person that people usually didn't want to hang out with and she had no idea why. "But thank you for the compliment" Verena sort of blushed at what he said to her.

Finding out that Verena didn't have much of a social life made the professor frown a little bit. He didn't understand that, truth be told, she seemed like a lovely woman, though he would imagine it came with her role at the school, and being around at unsociable hours to keep the kids under control.

"I'm sorry, I probably shouldn't have brought that up then..." Adam replied, more than a little uncertain on how to go on with the conversation. Buying some time, Adam took another couple of mouthfuls of his dinner, trying to think of something else instead.

"So... do you like Quidditch?" Adam asked, not overly sure if this was a good topic, but it changed it enough to spare him from the awkwardness of the conversation he'd made. "There are a few games on this weekend, though I'd have to check the Prophet to know which ones..."

Verena didn't mean to make him feel bad but she did. She felt so guilty right now and there wasn't anything she could do to stop that. "Don't apologize, I shouldn't have brought up that subject" she said as she took a sip of her tea. She loved tea and couldn't help but moan when she tasted it. It was her favorite kind of tea from the same place she got it from. Verena blushed because she got embarrassed.

"I love Quidditch, I am so hoping that my old house wins. I mean I wouldn't mind because I am the Deputy headmistress but you know what I mean. I can't choose favorites or anything like that. I love all my students and fellow Professors very much. I don't like to chose favorites" Verena explained in one breath. When she was done talking she took a few deep breaths and smiled at Adam.

The explanation of liking Quidditch made Adam smile. "I like it too, though I wasn't ever very good at it. But, watching suits me just fine." Adam explained happily, trying not to laugh as the Deputy Headmistress went on about favourites. "Well, I'm not as good as you, I suppose, I favour Hufflepuff in the Quidditch at the school, it was my house when I was at school." He explained, though he knew it wasn't right.

"Though, in classes I never show favouritism, it's not the place to do such things. But, I am secretly hoping for a Hufflepuff win in the house cup too!" He added, not feeling bad for admitting it. After all, Hufflepuff rarely won, so he could easily pretend that he was cheering on the underdogs in this situation.

Falling quiet once more, Adam finished up his dinner, bringing the serviette to his mouth to get rid of any mess he may have caused in that moment. "But, I was talking more about the professional teams, do you follow any?"

When Adam told her that he wasn't very good at Quidditch, she couldn't help but shake her head. "Oh come on, so you're telling me you have no idea how to play or you just don't like to play. Quidditch seems fun" Verena said to him. She nodded, "I dated a Hufflepuff before but you would have to have thought as him as a Slytherin considering he was nothing but rude the entire time. He even had the guts to say I was the problem and a very mean word" Verena didn't like the memory she had when she was just a naive little teen.

Verena couldn't help but laugh. "Of course you hope for a win, you were in that house" Verena replied. When he asked about Professional teams she nodded to him. "The Irish" she said to him. "I quite like them and their colors" she giggled.
