With the younger years dealt with, Jake set up the room with the moveable dummies for his next lesson. Yes, Stunning Spells was a spell learnt in the younger year's classes, but dealing with moveable targets, that blasted water back at you (meant to symbolise spells without causing harm to the students), Jake thought it would be a good challenge for the older years.

Whether they agreed was to be seen.

Once again, the class was devoid of chairs and desks, denoting a normal lesson of Defence Against the Dark Arts. With that done, Jake moved to the board, picking up a piece of chalk to write the lesson up for those who were curious.

Stunning Spell, Revision Lesson.

With that done, Jake moved to his desk, picking up the tea he'd made himself shortly before and sipping at it as he waited. After a few minutes, Jake took a seat atop his desk, allowing himself a few moments to just relax and not be rushed off his feet.

Lux made her way to the DADA classroom. It was one of the classes, besides flying, that she looked forward to attending. DADA taught her how to fight people and hurt them - which was the only thing worth doing in life - and to protect oneself from being hurt. She wasn't going to lie and say that she'd never used the spell she learned in class to terrorise some of the other students but she always did it in creative ways, not actually harming them - since she was a stupid prefect after all and couldn't do that - but making them so afraid it cheered her up.

The first thing she saw as she walked into the class were the dummies. She grinned. Perfect. This class was going to be very interesting. She didn't bother to acknowledge the professor, still holding a grudge against him for that snotty boggart he threw their way, and instead took a position at the side of the room before turning her eyes to the board. Looks like they would be doing a familiar spell. Her spirits deflated a little. She'd been hoping to do a more harmful, painful spell but apparently not.

DADA was a class Mei Xin did not quite enjoy. Oh, she found it interesting but her naturally gentle nature shied away from causing hurt to anyone. If her mother had any inkling that they were learning things like this, she'd never hear the end of it. Sure, there were girls who did taekwondo, karate and kung-fu but that was different. How so, Mei Xin had no clue but that was what her mother insisted and who was Mei Xin to go against her mother's word?

But Mei Xin wasn't one to slack in a class or stop studying because she didn't like the subject, which was why she still attended the class. She greeted the professor as she entered the room and took in the sight of the dummies around the room. Looks like they were doing something practical for this class. She frowned. It wasn't like she was bad at the practical side of things but she sure did prefer studying and memorising instead of actually doing it.

Glancing to the board, she read what was written there and tried to recall the incantation of that particular spell, smiling when she did. Hoping it wouldn't be a difficult class, she placed herself near the girl that was already there and waited for the class to begin.

Defense Against the Dark Arts. The name of the class brought a pang of hurt to her as the word 'art' reminded her of the one thing she wished she could be doing instead of these studies, but she had to focus on other things. Chrisy couldn't afford to be distracted by her love of drawing and painting, not any more. Stepping into the classroom, she glanced around at the dummies, smiling a little.

She could always count on this class being a practical one, which helped in the long run, since casting magic was something she was actually decent at. Since she could visualize things quite easily, it wasn't hard for her to be able to picture what she wanted accomplished, something that was, apparently, needed for spells to be successful.

"Professor," she greeted, moving to stand against the wall. Professor Jake was one of the better teachers, the type that didn't always make her feel like she had to measure up to her brother, for which she was thankful. Still, she knew that the expectations were still there for many - herself included - and she sighed to herself as she waited for the lesson to begin.

Defense Against the Dark Arts was a class he enjoyed but didn't really love it like others probably did. He knew that Professor Newbury could be a hard ass but he didn't mind. He loved Professors who loved their job and he knew from the look on Professor Newbury's face every class that he loved his job and that was good for him. The Ravenclaw entered the classroom and made sure that his wand was in his robes. When he found it, he was glad and relieved he didn't have to go back to his room to get it.

The young boy saw that he was the only male student there, but that didn't mind him one bit. He loved being surrounded by people, it was his twin sister that had the problem with school and other students. One day he hoped she would break out of that shell of hers.

Audrina loved school, but not as much as she loved to draw. On her way to Defense Against the Dark Arts, she was drawing in her sketchpad, she knew she would probably get in trouble but when an image popped into her head she always had to make sure she had to draw it to make sure it stayed in her head. She was a weird one Audrina, but she always meant well.

The Hufflepuff arrived and instantly saw her big brother... well older by a few minutes but he was still older. She stood next to him and smiled. She knew that he would probably have something to say about her drawing but she obviously didn't care if she was drawing while waiting for the class to start. When the Hufflepuff was finished her drawing she put her stuff away in her bag tightly and grabbed her wand out and waited for the class to begin next to her brother.

Perhaps it was too late, since she was already in her Seventh Year, but Gabrielle was actually beginning to like DADA. She had scoffed at ranged fighting before—as a fencer, Gabrielle believed that the honourable fights were the ones fought with swords, and it also did not help that Gabrielle just wasn't as good at fighting with a wand. Her last DADA class in sixth year was quite fun, though, and she figured that maybe DADA wouldn't be so bad if she thought of it as a game instead of an actual way of duelling. Maybe.

Professor Newbury was a nice enough professor, anyway. Even if she didn't agree with the wizarding world's preferred martial methods, Professor Newbury didn't seem like the slimy, cowardly sort when it came to fighting. In fact, he seemed a decent man, one with honour and integrity, and she appreciated that. So even though DADA wasn't really her type of cauldron, she made sure to do well in his classes and show that she enjoyed his efforts to make them fun.

Entering the room in comfortable, movement-friendly clothes, Gabrielle smiled at Professor Newbury. 'Good morning, Professor,' she greeted him politely. She looked around to see that he had prepared a bunch of dummies, and the words 'Stunning Spell, Revision Lesson' were written on the board. She raised an eyebrow at that—why he had not chosen a new spell this time, Gabrielle didn't know, but what she did know (or at least expect) was that they would be experiencing something new when it came to stunning dummies.

Izzy didn't know if she was late to the class or not, but she would definitely find out when she arrived to the class. She wasn't running nor was she walking. People who passed by her probably thought she was some weird person about to pee herself because that is probably what she looked like right about now. When she arrived to Defense Against the Dark Arts she was glad that the class had not yet started. It was a good thing that she wasn't late.

She recollected herself before she walked into the classroom and made sure her wand was in her bag. She went digging for it and before she lost all hope for it, she finally found it and was completely relieved when she had found it. It was a good thing she had found it or she would have been screwed. She stood off to the side and waited for the class to begin.

Defence Against the Dark Arts was not an easy subject for Finley, but that was not going to stop him from attending. The sixth year's confidence was growing with each day he spent being Madison's boyfriend, and being away from his parents once more made everything much easier for the Ravenclaw.

Though, he doubted confidence was going to be the key to managing to do well in Defence Against the Dark Arts, he knew it would help in the long run.

Forgetting to ask Madison if she was attending the class, Finley had slipped in to the classroom on his own, and once again there were no desks, instead, dummies were set out around the room indicating Jake had something practical planned for them.

Nerves threatened to hit Finley at this, but he pushed them away after a short struggle. There was little use in worrying over such things before he knew exactly what was expected of them, after all.

Defence was one of the better classes. Rarely a theory class. It meant that Violet could learn new and exciting, dangerous skill that would actually be useful when she left. She made her way to the classroom and dropped her bag by the door- bags were irritating when it came to practical work.

Stunning Spell Revision

Revision? Why would one waste a lesson on revision? If someone couldn't remember something they had done before, then that was their problem. In the very least, they could ask in their own time, not wasting her own time. She didn't say anything though, it meant an easy lesson that she would be able to get over and done with quickly. Stunning came to her easily, perhaps because she used it so often, just practising on her own, or if someone happened to tick her off… For now, she just waited for the teacher to start class.
