| Jake was beyond happy. Married life was suiting him well (this was not to say it was smooth sailing all the time, but enjoyable) and, as of recently finding out, he was going to be a father for the second time. Veronika was pregnant - three months, or so - and Jake was beyond excited. Six months was not going to go fast enough, he was sure!
Taking up the chalk in his hand, Jake wrote the spell that they would be covering that day on the board for the students to contemplate whilst they waited for the others to arrive.
Smokescreen spell.
The two words should have been enough of a clue for the class - and something of a complete give away for the lesson. But, this spell was very good when someone needed to get away quickly. Which was precisely why Jake was teaching it that day. ________________________________________________~ Auror ~ Profile ~ DADA Professor ~ ~ In a Relationship ~ 36 ~ Father ~ 6' ~ American Accent ~

| Every step Elleon took that led him to the DADA classroom felt like a step towards death. Oh, don't be so melodramatic! he chided himself. But he couldn't help the foreboding he felt every single time he entered the DADA classroom. He was terrible at the subject and knew it. It was his worst nightmare and the class that stressed him the most.
Needless to say, he did not enjoy it.
The only factor that helped him tolerate the class was that it was taught by Professor Jake. He made the class a lot less stressful for Elleon and he, besides Professor Jameson, was one of his favourite professors.
Elleon entered the classroom and greeted the professor cheerfully, remembering to use his first name like he preferred. He placed himself near the front of the class as usual and turned his eyes to the board. It was obvious by the name that it was a spell to put up a smokescreen. It was the incantation he was worried about. Hoping beyond hope - as he did every time he had to learn a new spell - that the incantation was a short and easily pronounced one, Elleon crossed his arms leisurely and waited for the class to begin. |

| Defence Against the Dark Arts... well, Jacques didn't totally dislike it, so that was, perhaps a bonus for all those that were involved. After shaking off Eloise (Merlin that girl was a nuisance), Jacques had made his way up to the third floor for the lesson that he was supposed to be attending.
Upon entering the classroom, Jacques wasn't overly impressed with the others that had arrived before him. The deaf boy was here - Jacques didn't know his name, but he knew of the boy. Special treatment was likely to be taking place then, the French boy thought to himself, only just managing to stop himself from sighing.
Surely St Mungo's could do something for the boy. A hearing aid from the Muggle world, even?
But, deciding not to address it, Jacques stood off to the side, waiting to see what the professor was going to have them do this lesson. ________________________________________________

| Aiko shoved her books into her bag as she chewed on some bread with jelly she was just finishing. She'd been reading as she snacked on something for lunch. She knew bread and jelly weren't the best for her, but she was hungry and she was craving jelly. She figured cheating just a little wouldn't hurt anybody too much. she packed away her quill and parchment as she scurried towards her DAtDA class. She gave a heavy sigh as she ran her fingers through her hair, once she arrived she gave a smiling nod to her Professor.
"Good morning, Professor Newbury, congratulations," she added in greeting. She took a seat near the front. At the sight of the words on the blackboard, she took to her textbook for explanation. But as she did so, she found her mind wandering to other venues; such as her summer plans and her mother's most recent letter. |

| Pleasantly walking the halls with his younger, though stronger and more muscular, brother Phil he listened as he went on and on about his plans to introduce Taela to the magic world. She had just showed her magical abilities in the form of a levitating two-year-old sister, which was exciting for all Brennham's involved. A part of Caelan wanted to quell Phil's chattering by telling him their other sister, the one that went to school with them, was dating someone, but he figured that social norms dictated that would kill the mood. Finally nearing the Third Floor, Phil gave a wave and then cursed realizing he had to be at Care of Magical Creatures with Ellie, he nearly laughed, but instead gave a slight smile to Professor Newbury - the male one.
He was happy for his Professors he really was. The more loquacious of his roommates informed him of how their wedding went, one of his uncle's was a reporter, and it was lovely apparently. Not to mention he sometimes saw Professor Veronika Newbury with Ivan from time to time. He was willing to bet they'd all live a charmed, happy life together. It warmed him to see the happiness. He opened his textbook and begun reading as much as he could about the word on the board. |

| The class size was a little smaller than Jake had anticipated, but this was certainly not going to deter his spirits. Perhaps a few people were simply running late, or maybe some of the students had been worrying about their exams last minute and decided to study. Whatever the case for the absentees, Jake's thoughts were with those present, because they were the ones that evidently wished to actually learn.
"Good morning, everyone!" Jake greeted the class with a small smile, making sure everyone's attention had been captured before proceeding. "Welcome to the final lesson of the year - I should imagine some of you will be quite glad to not have to be in class for six weeks after these final lessons! But, if I could ask you to hold on to the small amount of concentration you might have left for the next hour, I would be mightily grateful!" Jake explained, before motioning to the board behind him.
"You may have noticed what today's spell is, the Smokescreen Spell - now, I know it's obvious as to what this spell does, so, why don't one of you tell me as to why you think this spell would be useful?" He asked, looking between the faces of his students to see who would be brave enough to give him an answer. ________________________________________________~ Auror ~ Profile ~ DADA Professor ~ ~ In a Relationship ~ 36 ~ Father ~ 6' ~ American Accent ~
