Yet Another Adventure (Elyah & Max)

It had taken Max the entirety of his fifth and sixth year to build the tree house in the Forbidden Forest. Many boys his age were off playing Quidditch, or chasing girls around. But most people weren't Max. Max had been working - or he classed it as working - with the animals he'd found in the Forest. Nobody really knew... which at Hogwarts meant everyone knew. But almost everyone left him alone.

Everyone, except Elyah.

Now, this wasn't to say Max didn't have friends, because he did have a fair few, but if Max was with his animals, people left him to it. Which was why he was in the tree house today on his own. Well, for now. He'd sent a note to Elyah earlier that morning via Freddo to tell her that he'd be down at the tree house if he wasn't too busy with homework. Elyah was much better at keeping on top of those things than Max. Well, except for Care of Magical Creatures, Max was the best student when it came to that subject.

"Yes, Buckle. I know!" Max replied to his Bowtruckle impatiently. Well, Buckle was kind of his, kind of Elyah's depending on Buckle's mood. Most of the time, Elyah looked after him, though, because Buckle said she smelt better. Max wasn't really sure what the creature meant by this, but it didn't phase him in the slightest. "But, Elyah is simply not going to care that the crockery doesn't match. If she cared for normal, she wouldn't be dating me!" Max added, letting out a small laugh to himself.

Everyone had been rather shocked when the news came out about him and Elyah dating. She was the beautiful, popular, rich Hufflepuff girl, who got... everything. And Max, well, Max was simply Max, there was nothing overly fascinating about the boy, except his quirky nature. Nathan Forbes had attempted to sabotage the relationship, but who could really take a rumour of Max having an 'affair with four busty blondes in the Slytherin common room' seriously? Max didn't even know how to find the Slytherin common room, let alone that many women!

That had been over six months ago, though, and a great topic to make their friends laugh.

Max placed Buckle back on the side, kneeling down to check on his latest discovery. A small group of Crups had found their way in to the forest, their mother had originally been with them, but the centaurs had explained that something quite terrible had taken her. Max had, without hesitation, taken the three pups back to his tree house, and had been caring for them overnight. A few owls were sat up in the rafters, the other Bowtruckles were making nests in and amongst the shelves Max had made.

A tank sat near by to them, with a sickly Grindylow in it that Max was trying to nurse back to life, and by the window, Max had conjured up a mattress that allowed him to see the small clearing below, or the night sky when he chose to stay. It wasn't a perfect little hiding hole, but it was Max's, and he loved it.

"Hello beauties..." Max whispered, reaching down to pet the small canines who were still quite unsure of him. They had calmed down, but they were wild animals, and Max was a big person. Soft, but big. "It's okay, I'm here now." Max continued to coo, hoping Elyah wouldn't be long.

His note had asked that, if she could, Elyah bring some meat from the kitchens for the small creatures, because Max simply hadn't had time to plan the little tikes in to his plans.

Elyah felt great. Her life had taken a massive turn and she couldn't be happier about it. Firstly, she had agreed to change her last name to 'Whitehorn', and therefore making her father extremely happy. Changing her last name was not in her plans, because she didn't want to draw that much attention to her. Nero was a Pureblood, and a very handsome man. Women were after him all the time, and Elyah just couldn't help but roll her eyes every time she came face to face with a new one. Of course, she never told her dad she actually knew he was having an affair with so many women, but it was the least to say amusing when she dropped hints every now and then.

And then, there was Max. After her relationship with Nathan, Elyah finally understood how deep her feelings for Max were. He had saved her life, and she was more than grateful for that. Her life had been amazing ever since. He made her the happiest girl on earth, and the way he smiled at her... it made her heart melt every time. Of course, Nathan had tried to break them up, but the rumors he was spreading could never be believable. It wasn't that Max wasn't hot, he could be the hottest guy when he truly wanted to, but he would certainly never be able to have an affair with, not one, but four of the hottest Slytherin girls. It was simply crazy. Despite all of that, she didn't have much trouble with her life.

Freddo had found her this morning, as always, with a note from Max, asking her to bring some meat from the kitchens and meet him at the tree house. "What have you done again..." Petting the little devil that she had grown to love, Elyah skipped doing her homework, since she was already ahead for the most part, and headed towards the Kitchens.

After she had gotten the meat Max needed, she carefully made her way to the tree house, followed by Freddo.
"Max! Help me with this meat! It stinks and it's all bloody!"
Wrinkling her nose, Elyah glanced at the cat who was meowing at her as if understanding her. Or maybe it was the meat.

Max had just about settled the pups when he heard Elyah, and a grin touched his features in that moment, as he hurried down to meet her - even though she'd asked him too, Max was already on his way down. Landing on the ground just before his girlfriend with a grin.

"Hello!" Max greeted, leaning in to give her a quick kiss on the lips, prizing the meat from her hands because he didn't want her moaning about it too much. "You found Freddo, too! Bring him up, can you? Though, please keep a hold of him, we have guests, and I'm not sure he's going to like them very much...

"You will, though!" Max told her with a grin, because who didn't love small puppies? Turning on his heel, Max hurried back up the ladder in to the tree house and set himself down before the box he'd put the Crups in and tore some of the meat off for them to start eating.

"I found these little tykes out in the Forest on their own. Their mum... well, the centaurs weren't specific, as always, but I got the gist that she wouldn't be coming back... so, now, I'm their mummy." Max explained, smiling down fondly at his Crups as they chewed at the small lump of meat he'd given them.

Max, would, in time, come to realise that he needed to give Elyah more time to adapt to his mannerisms. That having people just go along with you and your whim wasn't always easy, but he loved his girlfriend very much. She knew that, he was sure. But, when animals needed him, nothing would ever come in the way of that.
