| As January shifted into February, the world seemed to be growing warmer with the idea of an approaching spring. The trees were preparing for growth and the grass was reviving some of the green that it had lost to the frostier months. Isaline Charlot longed for the warmth of the Spring and the eventual Summer. Though she found the Winter to be rather elegant and lovely, she was tired of the weather dictating how much clothing she was able to wear. Who would have thought that showing skin would be less sexy if said skin was slowly turning purple?
She loved how the Summer was a fashion free-for-all, even if she did spend most of her hours in bathing suits under the sun. She enjoyed having the option to wear whatever she wanted without the fear of becoming the least tempting shade of popsicle.
With the approaching bathing suit season, Isaline had decided that she would like to try something new; this something new being body jewelry. This was something that had been on the Charlot girl's mind for a while, but it was also something that had caused a bit of an inner debate with herself.
While she had never been against body jewelry, Isaline had always been on the fence about whether or not piercings were something that could be seen as being classy. Were they sexy? Of course, they were. But some part of her mind worried that it would turn her into somewhat of a gimmick instead of someone who is to be respected at all times.
The thing that swayed the debate positive had been the fact that she knew she had found a boy who would not judge her for wanting to decorate herself in different ways. She did not know where Finley stood on the topic of body jewelry, but she did know that he would not think any less of her if it was something that she truly wanted.
Smiling at the mere thought of Finley Allen, Isaline approached a piercing/tattoo shop about which she had heard a bit of buzz making its way through her classmates at University. She'd heard nothing but raves about this place, so it seemed like an at the very least decent place for her to go for this experience.
As she stepped inside, Isaline walked over to a dark haired girl who based on her multitude of piercings and ink seemed to know something about the subject.
"Do you know who I can speak to about a getting a piercing?" She asked the girl. |

| The days were getting on. Magic INk! was getting more and more busy as word spread. She loved it. Walk in bookings were getting more and more popular. Hogwarts students were sporting new piercings. Only a few had been allowed ink, but piercings were much easier, and affordable to get. College students were getting popular as clients as well. People were rather open, especially the under thirties. Purebloods, halfbloods and muggles alike. Despite only going into her first full year apprentiship, her second year tattooing. Her Fifth and Sixth year summers and weekends from Hogwarts spent training. She was a full fledged piercist and people seemed happy with her piercing, and her inking. Wearing her hair down, Lucy*was at the front desk. She didn't have any appointments till later, so things could be a bit more relaxed. She was going over bookings and keeping herself busy. As someone came in she looked up from behind the desk. "Hey there!" she said, "You can speak to me sugar, I'm Lucy I do the piercings. What were you after today hun?" Lucy asked the girl with a big friendly smile. |

| Isaline found herself caught a bit off-guard by Lucy's tone. She'd never been a fan of words such as "sweetie" or "hun," as they seemed somewhat condescending. She decided to keep the judgment to a minimum, as the interaction was still in the early stages.
Other than her lackluster verbal first impression, everything about Lucy appeared to meet the standards that Isaline had regarding the females that she met. She was beautiful and confident looking, two things that the Charlot girl had deemed hard to find.
Isaline had learned early on that the hardest trait to see in someone was confidence. This was especially true when it came to people such as her sister, Severine. People such as Severine were known to appear sure of themselves when in reality, they hadn't the slightest of clues as to how one should carry themselves.
This Lucy character radiated confidence. Simply by smiling, she would able to convince the world that there could not possibly be anyone who knew her more than herself. She did not seem like the kind of girl that one should question.
"I was thinking of getting a navel piercing," she informed the girl. She assumed that the piercer would understand what she meant by navel, seeing as it was just a fancier word for belly button. She reached into her dark leather handbag for a neatly folded sheat of paper.
"Something like this?" she asked, handing the paper to Lucy. |

| Lucy smiled at the girl, watching her. Nodding as she spoke about a navel piercing. "Yeah absolutely!" She said, she loved making girls and guys feeling beautiful.
Taking the piece of paper Lucy looked at it and nodded. "A double navel absolutely we can do that ." She told the girl, handing it back to her. "I can do it in about ten minutes if you like. Or you can make an appointment whichever is easier."
She looked at the piercing in her piercing book. "Can I have some identification please if you don't mind and are you over the age of seventeen." Lucy took the identification, running it under the scanner that held two purposes. One to keep her identification on file, as a record Lucy had pierced the girl and two to make sure it wasn't a fake ID. "Alright perfect." She said handing it back to the girl . "Can I get you to fill out this sheet please." she handed over the basic forms, it held the girls name, age, the piercing , "Don't worry about the piercing bit I write that in." She needed to find out if the girl had any blood diseases. Lucy personally didn't care but the paper was legal quo.
"Once you fill that out let me know if you would like the piercing today or if you would like an appointment. Since you'll be getting both done at once I can do it a little cheaper for you . I can do both for 12 Galleons." The normal price would have been 16 . It was a fair discount. She smiled at the girl. |

| Isaline showed no hesitation when Lucy inquired about the timing of the piercing. Knowing the inner-workings of her own mind, she knew that scheduling an appointment would lead to nothing good. Waiting to act would lead to thinking about what she was doing, which would lead to the questioning of whether or not this was actually a good idea. Of course, she knew that this was a good idea but she was unaware of how she would feel a week or two from now.
"I'd like to do it today," she told the woman, no falter in the sureness of her voice.
The girl verified that she was of age as she handed over her information. She wanted to laugh at how ridiculous it seemed to put an age restriction on something as simple as a piercing. She'd known girls who had done their own piercings and it had gone more than well, so the idea that anyone who really wanted something would wait for it seemed rather far-fetched.
Her face morphed into a look of light offense as Lucy suggested a lower price. Did she not think that Isaline could afford something as silly as a body piercing?
"Full price is just fine," she responded. "But thank you for the offer." She smiled half-heartedly, mostly to maintain the light atmosphere.

| Lucy had meant no offence when she had said the discounted price, "No no, it's the price because you're getting them both done at once. I don't need to do more stuff and set up twice." She explained, "Everything can be sterilised once and two needles used quickly so it's just a little less."
Once everything was signed and documented she led the girl through to the actual piercing area. "Take a seat." She got all the needles and stuff she needed and got them sterilised, though they already were in the packets they came in she liked to do it herself. In the meantime she handed the girl some barbells, all in a box with all different colours. "Pick what colours you would like to go on the ends of your piercings. I recommend any of the stainless steel ones, some of the pricier ones have real diamonds and sapphires in them. Prices are on each I don't mind what you pick."
She set up the area, "Lift your shirt please." she asked the girl. "And stand straight I need to line it up so they both match." once the girl was where she wanted, she used a texta to mark the four holes she would need to make. Getting the girl to check them, "You happy with the position?" It lined up perfectly with the girls stomach and figure so she was happy "And what colours have you picked?" |
