| Dearest Mister N, Whitehorn.
It has come to my attention after my daughters date with you she has not shown up back home nor to her apartment last night.
While I am sure I can believe your words and actions are of the uttermost respectable behaviour this character is very unlike my daughter. I must pray however that as she is a young adult she can make her own choices, and be in a safe place and space when she can make them.
I do hope you will get this owl early enough that she isn't late to work, nor coming to help me garden. And I do pray that you will have been quite the gentleman after and during last nights activites.
My daughter will always be my daughter, however she won't be immune to the world of men forever. If you two did in fact sleep together last night I pray you didn't claim her simply as a ''notch'' on your rhetorical belt and that you wish to pursue a relationship with her given how many times you have asked her to dinner.
Kindest regards A mother who knows how to dig a six foot trench. Cardina. |

| Getting his fill had, in brutal honesty, been all that Nero had wanted. Going on a date with Lucy was supposed to have satiated that need with a carefully placed compliment, a number of subtle suggestions, a little too much wine on Lucy's behalf, until she was practically begging him for more. But, Nero had not been given that opportunity, he'd been stood up, and he'd had to find another. Pandora had been great, fulfilling him to temporary satiation.
But she had not been his desired target.
Even satiating his lust had not brought his mind from the witch who'd tattoo'd him, Nero found as he sat at his desk the next morning, absent from the office in all but body.
When the letter had arrived, therefore, he had not been fully concentrating. He knew it did not do to dwell on a single woman, and yet he could not help it. The letter, however, had made Nero sit up straighter. Eyes scanning the words quickly - though he didn't really read past the first paragraph.
He didn't care for the rest.
Dear Ms. Belware,
I did not see Lucy last night. I had assumed she had had cold feet. I am heading to the Ministry now.
Mr N. Whitehorn. The owl had barely left the window before Nero had done just that, flooing to the Ministry, and getting on to the Auror's straight away. Ordering them to get out looking for the witch. Had he not had so much money, power, influence, they would not have gone. But the Aurors had packed off almost immediately.
Nero had sat in their offices, waiting. Wondering. Not daring to think about what might have happened to the witch. And... slowly... guilt started to ebb at him. Guilt, that he did not know where it had manifested from. |

| Carina waited for the letter to return, or at the very least her daughter. She read the letter once it came by the owl. Grabbing her coat. As a muggle she didn't have a whole lot of rights . But she had some. She ran to the muggle ministry entrance, she couldn't get in without a wizard or witch escorting her so instead she yelled "Where's Auror Newbury! My daughter is missing!" She yelled. Making quite the scene. "My daughter is missing!"
* Sabrina Twelbuckle was around the same age as Jake Newbury, except she was quite happy with being alone. Sighing she looked up as a certain Mister Nero Whitehorn came in. "Mister Whitehorn to what do I owe this pleasure?" She asked, hearing about a missing girl. "So one of your dates didn't show. She probably got drunk and went to a hotel for the night after work." Sabrina told him, before sighing as she got a report of a halfbloods mother screaming and being in hysterics. "Send her to me." She told the person who had told her before looking at Nero. "You sure you two didn't get plastered do the nasty and she's done a drunken walk of shame.?"
It wasn't judgement but random kidnappings didn't happen. Not here. Not to halfbloods. Sure they weren't as perfect as purebloods but a halfblood was a halflbood. They had their place. |

| Being received by a Miss Twelbuckle, Nero had explained his situation to the witch, and asked her to file a missing person's form, immediately. Normally, this would have been enough for Nero to get the thing done that he'd asked for, but it seemed, today at least, that the odds were not in his favour.
"You sure you two didn't get plastered do the nasty and she's done a drunken walk of shame.?"
"If you really think that I would be here wasting my time over a woman who had ran out on me - after I had gotten what I wanted, you are sorely mistaken." Nero told the witch, his tone showing that he was not in the slightest bit impressed with her accusation. "And, of course, that would count as wasting Auror time, which, last time I looked, Miss Twelbuckle, was a crime."
It was those words that showed Nero was not here to mess about, and that he was going to get something done about this situation, if it was the last thing he did.
"Now, if you would be so kind as to get that report, you're wasting time. Something I'm sure your Head of Department would not be happy to see." A threat, yes, and Nero was definitely the kind of man who would follow up on it. |

| Sabrina looked at Nero "I am simply covering all bases Nero. That's the first few questions we need to go through okay? Cut me some slack and I will cut you some."
Watching the muggle come in she sighed, "We will file a missing report and get her as soon as possible Miss Belware. People are usually found within twenty four hours so I wouldn't worry too much. If she has been taken as you both seem to think there will be some motive. A ransom note, a letter. There will be Something."
She had the muggle woman seated. "Now that that is sorted can I get either of you two a drink while I begin this report?" Sabrina asked. She didn't like being threatened and the nasty glare she threw at Nero showed that .
Going to the filing cabinet she grabbed out a report and acquired a quill. "now I will start with you Mister Nero when was the last time you saw Lucy and or had correspondence with her" |

| The woman was taking much too much time, angering Nero more, especially when she had the audacity to throw him a glare for telling her to hurry up about things. Did she not understand that there was someone missing and that it was vitally important they got on with this. Quickly.
Nero had to bite his tongue as she continued to infuriate him with her casual manner.
But, finally, finally she started asking questions. "Friday morning. I was at her tattoo studio, getting a tattoo done. I asked her out for dinner last night, she was finishing work at seven and we were having dinner shortly after." He explained as calmly as possible. "I left her studio around... midday, perhaps, I don't remember exactly." Nero finished, jaw set, waiting for the next question to be given to him.
This whole thing, though, Nero thought to himself, had better hurry up, Merlin only knew where Lucy was, or what she'd gotten herself in to. |

| Sabrina sighed and listened to Nero, "I will speak to her boss and have a look around hopefully someone will have seen you leave so we can determine last point of contact. " She told him, fiddling with a pen when she wasn't writing notes .
Hearing the rest she gave a simple nod "Alright. And you had no further contact? No owl, no out of hours visits ." Once again Sabrina had to cover every point. Getting a negative she nodded. "Alright." She told him before turning to Ms Belware.
"Ms Belware it says in your file we have you and your husband are separated. Is there any chance she could of gone to see him?" She asked, to which she got a solid answer of no.

Carina listened as the man that had asked her Lucy out on a date talk, she wanted to believe his intentions were true and he was telling the truth before hearing the lady speak. Shaking her head. "No."
Once that was written down she had to explain further. "Her father left just before her sixteenth birthday..The shame of me and her was too much. We have lived on our own since then. There's no chance she would have gone to her father. Not....not with what he did."
She implored the woman to dismiss that option immediately, there was a big file in itself of Mister Belware. He was currently a person of interest and still no known location. "Please. I just need my daughter found. She....she can't defend herself." Hell Lucy's wand was still at home for goodness sake when she wasn't at work. "Lucy had come home around six, gotten ready then had said she was going back to lock up shop. She always locks up at seven if she doesn't have a late client. She didn't last night." |
