Treasure Hunt - Hazel Parker - Page 2 Empty

10a.
You relax, deciding not to fight the plant. The tentacles tightens a little, but still you do nothing, and a moment later you feel it stop. Bit by bit it loosens its grip until you find that you are slipping down, past it, and a few seconds later you drop down softly and unharmed onto the ground below. Already adjusted to the dimness of the area, you look around and find that you are in the middle of a small hallway. In front of you is a door with a note on it.

Your next task brings you into the lake. Choose wisely.

To your left is what appears to be a dead tree stump on top of a bottle of something green. From where you are, it looks like slimy, grey-green rat tails. There’s a label on the jar, but you can’t make it out from here.

To your right is a small table with ingredients and a cauldron in the middle of it. There’s a piece of parchment beside it, and while it appears to be a list of instructions, you can’t read what the potion is or how to make it.

Which do you choose?

a) Investigate the potions table
b) Investigate the mysterious jar under the stump

(OOC: At the end of your post, please make your choice clear by writing it in another color, or bolded.)

When Hael did relax there awhile plant kept holding her up in the air then at first it seemed to tighten its tentacles around her but when she still keeps still then it soon lets her go. She was glad when it did let her go there and she was again back on the ground. She looked at her body and didn't see there anything wrong. She was really glad that she was fine now.

After she had checked if she was okay she began to look around her. She noticed the door where was some kind of clue written on it. She read it and left it there at it was. She then notices two things each side of her.

She can't understand what they are. So she is confused what she should do. She was so bad at choosing things. She had even chosen earlier to potion wrong at the first time. So how could this be any different there now?

She took a deep breath and walked towards the cauldron this time. She hoped she made the right choice now there. She had really no clue what she should do there. Going towards stump didn't seem such good idea for her.

11a.
You decide to go with the potions table. Once there, you pick up the parchment and read the instructions. It describes a potion that allows you to breathe underwater! It will take about an hour to brew, which means you will be delayed by some time, but it is an easy potion and not one that can be messed up easily, so there isn’t much chance of it going too wrong.

”The instructions for brewing is:”:

What do you do?

a) Brew potion (write the successful brewing of potion in your post to continue)
b) Go over to Investigate the mysterious jar under the stump instead

(OOC: At the end of your post, please make your choice clear by writing it in another color, or bolded.)

Hazel walked over the potions table. She was never really very good with potions really. So this will be a challenge for her there now. She did pick up the parchment and read what was written there now.

She did read it very clearly and when she figured it needs to be brewed like an hour. She wasn't sure if she should to the potion and be delayed a bit or then walk over that stump instead. Hazel thought what she should to do there now. She was so puzzled for sure.

She knew that potions weren't her strongest skill for sure but this potion seemed easy enough for sure. So she figured maybe she could give it try there even but then again she looked ever that stump where one jar with something in it was.

Hazel left the potion brewing be there and walked over the stump instead. She wanted to see what was in there actually. Maybe it was an easier way out than waiting for an hour to do some potion in what you don't have even confident to be successful.

You decide to try your luck with the stump instead, and leave the potions table behind. Approaching the stump, you see that the label on the jar says ‘Gillyweed’. As you near it, you take in the stump. It’s old, with moss growing at the side, and thick branches curled inwards. The jar sits in the middle of an opening of the trunk; it is just wide enough for your hand to reach inside and pull out the jar.

You take another step forward and at once the plant springs to life. The branches extend outwards, vines emerging from somewhere inside it. They are long and thin, covered in thorns, and wave around dangerously. You hesitate and realise that they aren’t reaching for you, and seem to be moving at random, protecting the jar. If you are fast enough, you could reach inside and grab it without getting hurt, or you could try and use a spell.

The other option you have is to ignore the plant altogether and opt for brewing the potion instead.

a) In order to move on to the next part, please write the successful obtaining of the jar.

Hazel did decide going after the Jar instead of the potion was a better idea for sure. She really hoped so. Since she knew she could still mess up potion even if it seemed to be an easy one. She looked at that jar and was bit surprised when some branches tried there to attack her.

Awhile looking at it more closely she realised that those branches didn't try to attack her since they moved way too randomly for that. She realised that those things tried to protect the jar there instead. She needed now some kind of plan how to get the jar away from that stump there.

Making plans wasn't really her thing. So she just reached towards it suddenly. She managed to get even few scratches on her bare hands but she didn't care much about them but at least she managed to get the jar to her hands.

Obtained the jar.

You manage to get the jar from the stump successfully. Taking it with you, you leave the hall through the door, making your way down to the Black Lake. Reaching the shore you look around and notice there is a sign post that has never been there before. Beneath it is a locked box. The sign post explains that the box is magically locked and can only be opened with the key -- which is located somewhere in the marked out section of the lake.

It goes on to tell you that there are three areas for you to explore. The first is the kelp forest. The second is a rock pile. The third is a small cave. It ends with wishing you luck and adds that if you run into trouble to shoot red sparks from your wand; the merpeople on standby will assist you.

You eat the Gillyweed just before you enter the water. You feel the gills grow and you plunge into the lake and find you can breathe without issues. You start to swim downwards, and soon find yourself facing the decision of which area to search first.

Where do you go?

a) The kelp forest
b) The rock pile
c) The small cave

When Hazel had the jar in her hands she walked out hall through the door what was there. She walked towards the Black Lake and when she reached to do it shore she noticed the sign there. She looked at it what it said and sighed. She really wasn't sure what she should to do now.

She even noticed the small chest there. She knew she will take for awhile to find the key. She seemed to make always the wrong choices at first, expect few. She realises she needs to explore those areas but she really wasn't sure which way was right.

She ate the Gillyweed what she got from the jar and entered the water. Hazel feels how the gills grown and she can breathe under the water more easily now. She was glad actually she could do it since she isn't really very good at holding her breath under the water.

She began to swim slowly towards the downwards and the first thing she deiced to do is going to search the kelp forest. She just found it interesting place and hoped it was right decision. So she began to swim towards that area.

Deciding to start in the kelp forest, you head to the thick mass of green seaweed and begin your search. After a long time swimming in and out of the green mass, searching for the key, you come up short. The most interesting thing you find is a herd of flying seahorses that seem to want to play with you, but you ignore them and keep searching. Still finding nothing, you decide to head back to the start only to find you are lost!

Looking around all you can see is green surrounding you and you have no idea how to get back to the starting point. For a while, you wander around until you spot a break in the green and swim there quickly. You’re finally back at the start! You have two options left.

Where do you go?

a) The rock pile
b) The small cave
