Riley was having another one of those days where her head was everywhere but where it needed to be. Paying attention. Riley loved walking around the grounds. Hogwarts was so beautiful. She already knew that Scotland was beautiful, but this brought it to a whole new level. She had started a sketch of the grounds, and was about finished. She smiled at it. She liked to come up with stories for her pictures. It always added an extra mystery to the painting. But thinking about everything that had happened at home over thanksgiving, her mind was dead. Alex had basically told her that she needed to grow up. That wherever she was during the semester wasn't right for her. She needed a REAL education.
Riley couldn't help the way she was. She picked up her sketch book and stood up. Once again, she was distracted. A tear rolled down her face. She hated the fact that she couldn't share with Alex what she truly was, or the place she was going to all these years. She hated that it seemed like Alex didn't like who she was or didn't really seem to get her. And now shew as all worked up. Riley stopped and leaned against the wall to steady herself. It had been a long day.
As she wiped the tears from her face, she opened up her notebook. Reading it always seemed to calm her down. She looked at the drawing that she had made for their birthdays. It was a picture of Riley looking at herself in the mirror. Riley drew her reflection, but it wasn't her. It was Alex looking down. It was the way Alex always looked at her. She looked at Riley like Alex didn't even know. She hoped that someday her sister would look at her like she was an actual human being and not something that she could be ashamed of.
