| Dangerous.
That was the only word for the whole scenario Elenore had just gotten herself in to, and Merlin she knew that much. Sex, for a witch like her, was not something that should have ever been consented to before marriage. Sex was not something she should have even thought about, let alone enjoyed. And yet, there in the sheets beside her led a man. Naked as the day he was born, save for a sheet that covered him just enough to make the light blush in Elenore's cheeks recede enough to pass off simply as an afterglow.
Could she actually believe that she'd gone through with it? No.
Did Elenore regret it? Definitely not.
The expense of the chateau for the evening would be lost in her monthly allowance somewhere, the accountant would find his wages bumped up to hide it from her parents, and Jacques. The staff would never know of Corbin's presence - not from her at least, and she'd been careful to cover her tracks.
And yet, something was still niggling at her as Elenore at up in the four poster bed that they'd shared the previous evening, bring the sheet up to cover her body. Internally she cursed for not having put some clothes on to sleep, but Corbin hadn't moved to do it, so she'd followed his lead. As she had for most of the previous evening until she'd felt comfortable with everything. A book, Elenore had soon realised, would not prepare you for the intimacy of the moment, but Corbin... had been understanding.
Looking down at his sleeping figure, Elenore bit her lip, and then looked away, he looked to peaceful for her liking, and she couldn't stomach that right in this moment.
After all her careful planning, and enjoyment, the French witch was worrying about Corbin. If he couldn't keep his mouth shut... She shook her head slightly, he surely wouldn't be so stupid as to mention something to Jacques, would he? Elenore's mind was racing, so many possibilities. So many options.
And yet, selfishly, she wanted more... ________________________________________________

| How Corbin had managed to convince his mother to allow him to France, on his own, was something of a miracle. Part charm, part lies, part outright begging, Corbin had pulled every trick in the book (and some he made up on the spot) to get her to give him permission and the pocket money that would allow him to survive a week there. He'd been rented a small hotel room in the middle of the safest streets (a police station was literally opposite it) and told to check in with his mother every night.
But as far as anyone else was concerned, it had been easy for him to arrive in France one morning, eyes sparkling dangerously and a smug spring in the way he walked.
The rest was easy enough. The house -- the chateau, as he was told -- was amazing. One large place for two of them seemed so over the top, so grand, so amazing, and he couldn't help the smirk on his lips as he wandered around the empty house without needing to tiptoe or whisper. If this was what it was like to be rich, he wanted to be fudging rich. He'd buy houses all around the world. If he had a girl (or woman) waiting for him, he didn't care. The freedom itself would be great.
But he wasn't that rich, and so he settled for being in the rented place of a Pureblood he was about to do something very, very naughty with.
If he were honest, he didn't expect to ever be in such a position, but he'd be damned if he didn't pretend it was second nature to him; he didn't want to be caught gawking at every little thing. Not yet. There would be time, later, when he was in private.
It wasn't the most amazing sex he'd ever had. It wasn't even the second or third best. But it was the best experience, in bed with a Pureblood for the first time in a rented chateau in France. There would be snarky comments to be had and jokes to be made, if he could talk about it, but the whole thing was like an affair, and one never went public about those. If one was smart, one never even mentioned it to one's closest friends, and Corbin was anything but dumb; he knew he would never be able to talk about it. As far as anyone was concerned, his trip to France was to escape from home for a short while.
Awareness stirred, and Corbin awoke with a groggy haze that cleared after a few moments. He didn't open his eyes yet. He could feel the sheet coming up to his waist, and the cool of the air on his skin, telling him he was, in fact, naked. It didn't bother him. He waited until his mind was fully active before stirring, opening his eyes and turning over... to find the witch already up.
His lips twitched into a smirk as he, too, sat, the sheet moving even lower than before, although still covering enough to barely pass for decency. "Good morning," he murmured, reaching forward and brushing a lock of hair away from her shoulder, grazing her skin gently as he did. "Sleep well?" |

| As Corbin stirred, Elenore quickly moved her eyes away from him so that she would not be caught staring. Not that she was, per se, Corbin was highly attractive. His body was nicely toned in all the right places. He knew how to look after himself, but Elenore was not one to stare. She'd taken him in properly, seeing him in a manner she doubted many people really could see the Slytherin.
For a few fleeting moments she'd pretended to simply be a normal fifteen year old girl, meeting up with a boy her age, to enjoy what people their age did.
But Elenore was not normal, and thus she had to pretend to be a strong, far off person who did not long for something she could never have. If Corbin knew... he could break her, entirely. Destroy her, even.
The French witch allowed him to move before her eyes moved back towards him, a small shy smile playing on her lips as she tried to decide how it was that she was going to deal with this moment. Corbin's fingers reached out to her hair, though, moving it out of his way and sending a shiver down her spine as he touched her skin so gently.
Closing her eyes slowly, Elenore allowed a second to reign her body's needs back in, to lock them away, and keep them from interfering in the moment. They opened as a warm smile fell in to place, and she looked over at Corbin. "I slept very well, thank you, and you?" She asked.
Elenore had not gone to move his hand, even if it might have been wise to do so. They still had today... Elenore wasn't going to waste that. And yet...
"Corbin..." Elenore spoke quite softly as her hand moved to his, placing her smaller, softer hand upon his to stop it from moving, but not pushing him away. "You... understand that no one can ever know of this, don't you?" She asked, the softness of her voice decreasing notably in that moment. The French witch was not being cold with him, Merlin knew that he had something she wanted. Needed. But Elenore needed to make sure he understood what he'd just, possibly unknowingly, gotten himself in to.
"You know what would happen to you if my brother should ever find out what we've done?" She added, softer this time. There was an apology in her eyes, Elenore should have been more honest up front. But, surely Corbin would understand... ________________________________________________

| The warm smile and the polite answer was somewhat of a let down. Already he was betraying his personal rule of never waking up next to someone -- he was usually gone by the crack of dawn, or left to sleep in his own bed -- and this was a new situation for him to navigate. From what he'd been hoping, they would wake up and get back right to what they had been doing before they fell asleep; it seemed that was not to be, and as he adjusted his position so he was facing her, taking in the sheet she held to her body, covering ... everything ... and the look in her eyes.
"It's a nice bed," he said, smirking a little, "And I had wonderful companionship. Of course I slept well." He let his hand move further down her shoulder, lightly, gently, towards her arm -- but her hand stopped him, and he raised an eyebrow, inviting her to continue.
"Know what?" he asked, a teasing quality to his tone. "That I fudged a Clement?" He winked, slowly, to show he knew what she was talking about and he was joking, and then let out a chuckle. "Of course I know, Elenore. Not just for your sake, but my general being. I'm not in the habit of destroying lives, you know."
The second statement made him shrug. "Jacques won't." He paused, wondering just how honest he should be in that moment; this was a new scenario, and he didn't have a playbook to follow. It was both daunting and thrilling, and Corbin wasn't sure which emotion was taking charge right now. Instead, he sighed softly. "I've lived the past Merlin-knows years tiptoeing around at home, Elenore. I know how to keep mum about things."
The moment of honesty was too much; he was never open. For one split second, he let his walls down, if only to show her that he knew how serious the moment was and that he wasn't taking the danger for granted. It was done, though, and they were up in that split second that it took to blink, and Corbin was once again smirking at her, eyes glinting. "He won't find out what we did last night and I promise you, he's definitely not finding out what I'm about to do."
But despite his words, he did nothing, waiting for her, waiting for consent. He knew that just because she was fine last night it didn't mean she was fine now, and Corbin was no idiot; he would wait for permission before doing anything more. |

| The answer of him sleeping well was cheeky, but Elenore hadn't really expected anything less of Corbin. Could anyone ever get him to take life seriously? She doubted it, and this was the cause for her concern. Her own well-being, Elenore could work through. Call Corbin a liar, if he were to slip up, have her brother take care of the 'business' and be left with a telling off and nothing more.
It wasn't right though.
As much as she liked Corbin's carefree, can do ideologies, she needed him to be serious. If only momentarily, so that they could make sure nothing bad would happen to him. A smile graced Elenore's lips, though, as he mused about the bed and companionship. Empty words, she was sure, meant to please, but not taken to heart. Elenore was not so stupid as to believe a boy who only wanted to be in her bed, that he'd enjoyed sleeping beside her.
The French witch's patience stepped down a notch when he tried to play with her over what she was trying to tell him. It was his way of dealing, she reminded herself, but that did not mean she appreciated it. She allowed him the moment, though, smile not wavering because she couldn't afford to alter that in this moment.
But, as Corbin managed to insist he would not tell anyone, ruin her life, and most certainly wouldn't tell Jacques, Elenore began to relax. Hope, because that was all she could cling to in this moment, was restored. Hope that she had not made the biggest mistake in her life by bringing Corbin here.
It was the next sentence, however, that piqued her interest. Tiptoeing around at home? It wasn't something she would question -- it was a personal statement, aimed to put her at ease. Possibly the most real thing she'd ever heard Corbin say. The most serious. But, Elenore tucked it away, not commenting directly on that.
"Thank you." Elenore managed, her voice ever so soft because she felt quite relaxed now. Not totally anxiety free, but more relaxed than when she'd woken up before Corbin.
The confirmation that came once more -- Corbin's tone returning to one she recognised -- made Elenore giggle softly in that moment. Anticipation taking over as a soft, light blush touched her cheeks. Her hand moved away from his on her arm, instead moving to cup his cheek, pulling him in to her as she placed her lips against his. "Je me réjouis de ce." She murmured softly against his lips, before deepening the kiss, for a moment before she realised she'd mixed up her languages once more.
"I look forward to it." She translated for him as an after thought. "It sounds better in French..." Elenore added, before shaking her head and pulling Corbin down to the bed with her. ________________________________________________
