It was the early evening when Jerome decided to take a stroll into the oddly attractive forbidden forest. The air was crisp, and cool, and in all honesty, Jerome had planned to stay out for as long as possible, just to see what sort of things lurked in the night.

Part of the appeal of the 'Forbidden Forest' was the fact that it was, well, forbidden. Jerome had always found a compulsion to do the exact opposite of what he'd been told to do. A compulsion that now he was away from his mother and her, well, severe, punishments, he decided to give in to. Really, detention was the worst thing that could come from being caught out there, he'd faced much worse for much less, he laughed in the face of detention.

So he walked at a casual pace, absently twirling his butterfly pocket knife, mostly out of habit, under the shade of the tall trees at the border of the forest. Something inside him was certain that the deeper one delved, the more exciting it would become. From where he was standing, not much seemed to be happening. Taking a deep sigh, glancing about behind him, he decided to walk further in.

Rebekah had decided to go for a jog early one evening and changed into a pair of sweat pants and a white t shirt. She put her hair up in a pony tail to keep it off her neck and out of her face. She grabbed her favorite yellow hoodie and tied it around her waist. Just in case she got cold.

As she made her way out of the castle, she decided to head to the rim of the Forbidden Forest. As she was running, something inside her told her to enter the forest. SHe had no idea why. But she did it anyway.

As she entered, she felt a dark chill over whelm her body. It was an odd and eery feeling that she didnt like, but something told her to go further into the dense forest. She took a deep breath and continued to walk amongst the dark trees.

As he walked in, his surrounding grew darker and darker- partly due to the quickly setting sun, but mostly due to the thick canopy of trees above. But he kept walking until he could see no more, that was when he reached into his pocket and grabbed his wand, murmuring 'lumos', giving him some light to see. After a while, he heard movement, that sounded like footfalls. He wasn't alone.

He glanced around, squinting into the darkness, to see if he could see any movement, slowing his pace and trying to walk much quieter than he previously had been. He stopped when he saw a glimpse of a shadow walk by. Quickly, he diminished the light from his wand and moved in the direction he saw the shadow go, quickening his pace. In the dim light, he saw the form of someone that, he guessed, was older than him.

"Oi!" he shouted, in hopes to maybe spook the person "What're you doing out here?"

Rebekah looked around as she walked into the forest. She was fascinated by the entire atmosphere of the area. She stopped when ehr heard a voice and turned towards it.

She raised an eyebrow at the attitude the young boy had before a smirk spread across her face "Im exploring. Im old enough to take care of myself out here. Cant say the same about you. You dont look any older than a first year." She said with her arms crossed over her chest "What are you doing out here?"

She leaned back against a tree and kept her eye on him. She did not feel like being responsible for a younger kid if something were to happen in the forest. Rebekah could handle herself easier if she wasnt having to look after someone. She sighed and pushed herself off the tree and looked at him "Whats your name kid?"

Jerome had to hold back a laugh at the statement the girl had made, about him being unable to take care of himself due to his age. He found it rather hilarious, how looks could be so deceiving. No, Jerome had been taking care of himself far before he'd come to Hogwarts, and would likely continue to do so in the holidays, when he left... His mother wasn't likely to change soon.

"What's a few centaurs and acromantulas?" he shrugged, a grin spreading slowly across his face "And what's age got to do with anything? How different the world might be if we counted life experience over age when it comes to competency..." he sighed, though still the grin remained on his face as he leant against a tree, flipping his butterfly knife open and closed idly. He'd purposefully ignored her asking for his name. For him, for the moment, names were unnecessary.
