The girl leaned forward to kiss her once again and Maria smiled triumphantly against the soft lips. She could tell the younger girl wanted her, the inexperienced ones were always so easy to tell... It felt amazing. Maria could feel her blood rushing, her heart beating faster and louder, and it was all because she knew the younger witch wanted her.

Her spare hand went to rest on the wall next to the girl's head and the other kept caressing the girl gently. She was in control, that much was obvious and she loved every second of it. She kissed the pretty girl again and again, brushing her rouged lips against the soft ones and her hand slipped to cup the girl's neck, where her thumb kept tracing circles.

Maria suppressed the urge to make an embarrassing sound when she felt the younger witch licking her lip. Instead, she opened her mouth and met the tongue with hers. She deepened the kiss, revelling in the way the girl smelled faintly of alcohol and citrus.

While this slow torture worked for some girls, Maria was growing bored, fast. She moved to pin the girl against the wall and pressed her lips harder against the younger girl's. Then, she pulled back just the tiniest amount, just enough to grasp the girl's lower lip with her teeth and pulled gently. She opened her eyes, peering down to see the reaction.

Allegra felt like every nerve ending was a live-wire, electric and invigerating. She had little to no idea where to put her hands, mainly because she couldn't decide. So when the girl pressed her against the wall and slipped her tongue into her mouth Allegra shut down and began acting purely on instinct, exploring the other's tongue with her own, her hands on the girls hips.

When Maria pulled her bottom lip Allegra whimpered softly, moving towards her slightly, absently, pulling the girl closer, their hips knocking slightly, kissing the other girl again, forgetting that they were still in the hall and should probably move further, but Allegra was consumed totally by the world of kissing girls, this girl. Merlin, what a world it was...

She wasn't even aware of the somewhat heavier breathing or her flushed cheeks, her dilated pupils making her dark eyes grow darker...all of it was lost in the heat of the moment

Victoria had heard of the party in the common room, but she'd decided not to go. Why? Because exams were coming up and she had too much to do to be able to relax. She'd told Allegra this - not in a manner that said Allegra should do the same, but in a friendly manner - and insisted she would try to come towards the end of the evening. Though she hadn't promised to be back, because she had a lot to do.

It was late by the time Victoria did come back to the common room, and the party was in full swing. She waved to the people she knew, smiling warmly and insisting she would be right back. Victoria planned on simply putting her books away and then she would come downstairs and find Allegra and they could dance and have fun.

But as Victoria moved past the common room to the stairs, she noted a very familiar brunette in an alcove with an older student and she stopped in her tracks.

Well...

Victoria felt a slight pang in her chest at the sight, and turned away, hurrying down the stairs to her dormitory without a word. Only when she'd gotten to her room and closed the door did she stop and let out a soft breath, one she hadn't known she was holding. It shook, just as much as she did. But her head swam more. Why did she feel upset? Why did she feel hurt? She didn't know, she didn't understand.

Checking her watch, Victoria moved to her bed and put her books down, closing the curtains around her four poster bed. She sat in the middle of the bed, concentrating on her breathing as she tried very logically to understand what she was feeling. This... well, this was very different to what she'd felt before, but she wasn't sure what to do about it. Her mind wandered to asking Jake, but that idea was thrown out the window much like many topics of conversation had when her brother was involved...

Perhaps...

Marilyn. Victoria concluded that if - by the time she next saw her brother's girlfriend - she hadn't established the meaning of these feelings, Victoria would ask Marilyn for some advice.

Because whatever this was, it hurt, and Victoria wanted to know why.

Allegra was having the time of her life, Maria was making sure of that, kissing and touching and holding the younger girl so her head spun. Eventually they moved from the alcoves to Maria's dorm, closing the curtains. The elder witch had permitten Allegra to stay for the rest of the night, since that had been her first experience, and out of nostalgia of her own first time, alcohol induced, even tolerated mild cuddling.

The younger girl had left before she usually woke up, thanking a sleepy Maria and strolling into her own dorm room, dropping her clothes on her trunk and going to take a shower, frowning when she saw Victoria's curtains drawn. Had her friend had a nightmare? Allegra felt a pang at the thought of not having been there for her friend and right after dressing fresh she knocked at Victoria's bed post.

"Victoria? Are you alright?" She whispered loud enough to hear but soft enough to not wake the others.

It had taken Victoria some time to get to sleep that evening, with the confusion of the situation and her stubbornness to not sleep until she'd found the answer. Which, of course, meant that the witch had fallen asleep only when she'd been too exhausted to fight the tiredness away. She was still fully clothed, and sprawled out on her bed from where she'd fallen backwards when her body gave in to sleep.

Much unlike herself, if truth be told.

So when a knock came at the bedpost, she'd groggily come around to the sound of a very familiar voice. Without even realising a slightly bigger smile touched Victoria's lips only a moment later as she looked up sleepily at her best friend. "I'm fine!" Victoria replied to Allegra at the question of her being okay. "I was studying late, that's all. Have I missed breakfast?" She asked, ignoring the slight pang of something unexplainable. Now was not the time, and she was not going to try to deal with something she didn't understand on her own, or without adequate resources.

And until such time as she knew what to do about it, Allegra would not know that seeing her made Victoria's chest hurt a little, or how Maria made Victoria feel bit jealous of how beautiful she was.

Because logic dictated Victoria's world, and logic had to be found before it could be put in to words.
