Can you do the doggy paddle? (Open)

Zoey walked down to the lake with a towel flung over her shoulder. Her dog, Zeus, walked beside her never once straying from her side. When they reached the big tree by the lake, she stood. She took off her shoes and removed her short and shirt to reveal a dark sapphire blue bikini to represent her house spirit.

She smiled before running and diving into the lake. She resurfaced and enjoyed the hot sun on her wet skin creating a warm sensation all over her body. She loved swimming, it brought her joy and peace of mind like nothing else in the world could.

She quickly moved to float on her back and stared up at the sky. She watched the clouds float past and smiled to herself as she tried to identify shapes in the white fluffy masses. She heard someone near by and flipped over onto her stomach and saw a person on the edge of the water

Dominique decided that she was going to wander down to The Black Lake. As it seemed like this was a place that she loved to come. Usually she thought  she was going to be by herself. Last time she was here she got to meet Sasha. Who was going to be a good friend. Even though  she was a sixth year student, that didn’t matter to Dominique.

But that is when she noticed that someone was down there. And it seemed like this person had a dog. It wasn’t like she was scared of dogs. Dom then noticed that this person was going to for a swim. As she found that this was taking a swim. And it was fall so she didn’t think that this was the best weather for that. But she wasn’t going to judge.  Even if she wasn’t going to jump into the water.

Dominique knew that she could be nice. And she wasn’t going to say something about the water being too cold. “ Looks like you are having fun.”

Zoey smiled at the girl before looking around for Zeus. She saw her dog swimming happily in the water playing around. This brought an even bigger smile to her face "Yes, we tend to come down alot when the weather starts to get a bit chillier. No one is usually out here." She said explaining the reason for her being in the water during the colder weather.

She got out of the water and grabbed her towel and dried herself off and then dried Zeus off when he returned to her side "Go on and play boy." She said and the small black dog ran across the lakes edge chasing birds and butterflies.

She then turned to the girl and smiled "Im Zoey. Are you a first year?" She asked noticing the girl was much younger than herself. She was not sure if she were a first or second year.

Dominique was glad to see that the dog was enjoying the water. Now she was going to try and enjoy having a conversation. It was always nice to meet new people. “ That is good, I really like coming down here too. Maybe when the weather is nice I might go for a swim.” Not that she was saying anything bad that the other girl was taking a swim.

She then watched as the dog was chasing butterflies. It was nice to watch him be so carefree. Soon Dominique would have to ask her mom for a pet. And she knew that her mom would give her anything that she wants. A ferret was something that she always wanted. And knew that they are really good pets. Maybe for her birthday? Or she could get it at the end of the year. Just because all the hard work she was putting in.

But she then smiled as she learned the girl name. “ I am Dominique. And yes, I am a first year Gryffindor.” She was glad that she was having a good time. “ It is nice to meet you Zoey.”
